I believed when I called that I wouldn't have to speak with her. I was fortunate at first when Crystal answered the phone. As we were in the process of making me an appointment she suddenly hesitated a moment and said that one of the optometrist wanted to speak to me. That's when everything went south! Trenda got on the phone and at first it appeared that we might possibly get past our earlier difficulties and that maybe she was going to help me get my issues with my glasses taken care of. Good heavens, was I wrong! Before I knew what was happening, she started screaming at me and calling me a liar! I immediately asked to speak to someone else and asked at least at least 2 or 3 times as she carried on but my requests were all ignored. She was on this insane rant and no one was going to stop her! Of course, as happened last time I couldn't get a single word let alone a sentence in! She yelled right over anything I had to say! She was angry about the review. Something, I cannot recall what, was mentioned about the previous owners, the Smokes, who are now both retired. They very generously allowed the new owner to use their name (terrible mistake if you ask me) anyway, I believe what was mentioned was that they do still see a few patiens now and then. She became enraged and yelled "they're never here and all of the patients are Brad's! When I said that I saw Dr Smoke she went ballistic and said that I was a liar and went on to say that they don't own this place anymore!"..blahhh and so on... ending the conversation with (what I said in my review) ...so, you don't like being hung up on? How do you like this?" And she slammed the receiver down AGAIN! Is this person 12? Grow up! But, this wasn't the end! Oh no, it gets soooo much more interesting! Later in the day I receive a voicemail from the owner. Apparently, he is the doctor. Someone you would expect to handle the situation in a professional manner. This is what I thought when I did as he asked and returned his call. This is how I expected the call to go...or, something along these lines anyway: Him: "Thank you for returning my call. I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry about the way you were treated today and I want to assure you that this type of situation will not happen again. I don't know what is going on with Trenda, I know she's been working a lot but, I will definitely talk to her about this. So, if it's okay with you, let's do this, when I get back in on.... I'll have.... call you to set up an appointment. I will personally see that you are taken care of and all of your needs are met. Sound good to you? But this is not what happened. Not even close! He apparently checked out all of my reviews online and accused me of "being seriously emotional when you write them"! Next, he stated that I must not have very much of a life since it appears that all I do is sit around and write terrible reviews about made up nonsense to destroy good people and their businesses! Seriously? Who the hell does this guy think he is. He "TOLD" me that I called Trenda a liar and stated "there were other people there"! ...(and I suppose that they were all listening to Trenda as she acted the crazy woman too... right? well alrighty then! ...what, pray tell, DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? Please, DO TELL! I do NOT call people a liar! Even if you are one which, Trenda, if you did say that, then... well, you are not being truthful! You are simply trying to make yourself a victim in a nasty situation that you created and he finished! You Trenda, are very manipulative and you seem to have pulled your boss into your strange little world full of anger and conflict. I don't need this. I don't need your negativity! I'm sorry to leave this kind of review only because of the Smoke name attached to this business of which this business is in no way worthy. It comes with free boxes of lens and 50 coupon for glasses. They advertise frames at 69.00 and up. I called for appointment and they let me pick the day and time which I liked because some days I cannnot leave work. On my way there for my appoinmtent I get an automated call sating my appointment was the next day, a day which I couldnt. I called and they acted like it was my fault and I had to come into tomorrow. I said well then I will not be in because thats the one day I cannot come in and I do not mind if I have to rescedule to next week. I was transfered and they were able to squeeze me in later that same day, which was good. I am near sighted and need prescriptions to see far away. I read 100 essay papers weekly for work and I have never had problems seeing the words. I come in and the dr said I need to be switched to multifocal lens and then went on to say thats normal for my age since Im getting older (40 yrs old). Two years ago I was just fine at a different doctor. I figured oh well. Until I got out front and was told since I need multifocal that online coupon doesnt apply and I have new multfocal prices on not just my lens but the exam itself. I had to pay 99 for just the exam and then they said my contacts were 150 a box, where Im used to paying 50 a box. I said I was just going to buy them on 1800contacts and to just charge me for the exam and I would just get glasses later. They said they would price match me on the contacts so I went ahead and got them. I couldnt find any lens in the store under 100 bucks so I got a pair for 110. Then the lens were crazy expensive since im now on multifocal. The tech offered me a deal if I signed up for the club for 20 bucks where I got 50% off my glasses. So my total price was 500 instead of the 800 full price for glasses and 2 boxes of contacts. I am happy I did get a discount, however, I was only expecting to pay 300 at first.
