Lying chumps still trying to blow smoke. FYI, Costco is way cheaper. Doesn't seem like it up front but I got two pair of glasses with higher end frames with progressive AND transition lenses for $400. They wanted $375 for just one. That "free frame" deal is smoke and mirrors.

A few days later they finally called me back because they finally found the order that I had paid for.I I just wasn't very happy that they never called me about the order that they couldn't find.

It literally was the place to be back in the day. I've seen the changes throughout the years, and I think it's still a great place to hang out. They've remodeled, and there are new stores and restaurants. There aren't many malls in the area now. There were other ones to visit back then, but they're all gone now. So, it's nice to know this one is still standing strong for the community. By the way, there are two Chick-fil-A's in the Mishawaka area. We prefer to come to the one in University Park Mall because it's less busy. Both are busy places, but this one isn't as congested. I'm also glad to see Barnes and Noble in this mall. With many book stores closing, I don't get to find one too often. On the weekends, it's hard to find parking, but honestly, it has been that way since I was growing up.

This place blows. Their hours are 12-6 on Sunday. Went there at 1 pm and they were closed.read more

I am a little perplexed as to why this place is getting such a bad rep. I'm thinking some of these reviews are from people who were very butt-hurt from the staff not treating them like the "regal" people that they think they are, decided to visit Stanton during their busiest times (weeknights and weekends) expecting to be in and out within minutes, and didn't PAY ATTENTION TO THE FINE PRINT FOR THE PRICING AND PROMOTIONS. You know, the typical pompous, entitled, and stuck-up Granger/Mishawaka folk. Anyway, here's my review: When I decided it was time for a new pair of glasses, my roommate recommended Stanton Optical to me. He had recently received an eye exam there, as well as purchased a new pair of glasses, and he said the service was fantastic. So naturally, I chose to visit Stanton Optical to browse their selection of glasses. First off, the selection of glasses for men is HUGE! This was a refreshing change, considering all other optical clinics I've been to have a small selection of glasses for men, and an obnoxiously large selection of glasses for women and children. Stanton's selection has a nice balance, which I was very pleased with. I don't think I was browsing for even 30 seconds when I was approached by Stephanie, who politely greeted me and gave me a glasses "shopping cart", which was pretty neat. Stephanie had asked me what type of glasses I was looking for, and she actually listened to me while I explained. Stephanie then picked out some glasses for me to try on, and helped me to understand what sizes would fit my face the best, since I have always had trouble with this. After a few more minutes, she allowed me to continue browsing for as long as I wanted, and told me to come to her if I had questions about anything. Now, this to me was great. I HATE going into stores and having an employee hover over me the entire time! This definitely wasn't the case here. Stephanie had made sure that I was comfortable with what I was looking for, and then just let me browse. After picking out the pair I liked, I approached Stephanie and told her I was ready to preorder the glasses and set up an appointment. After setting up the appointment (which was same day by the way), Stephanie took me to a desk to preorder the glasses. It was during this time when Stephanie had informed me of a special Stanton had going on, where if you bought one pair of glasses, you get another pair for free. Um, WHAT?!?! I must have just come in during the right time, because 1) there was a second pair of glasses that I really liked and could get for free, and 2) I tend to lose my glasses a bit too often, so I could get a back-up pair at no cost! Naturally, I went with the promotion and got both pairs. Stephanie was also able to inform me of the anti-reflective feature for my glasses, and this is a feature I was very interested in, so I purchased it. I also purchased the Lens Warranty, which is a deal that should not be passed up! After everything was said and done, Stephanie told me my glasses would arrive in 7-10 business days, which isn't a bad wait time at all. However, I think it was only 3 days later when I got a call saying my glasses were ready to be picked up. Freaking awesome!!! Overall, my experience with the Stanton Optical of Mishawaka, Indiana was an absolutely painless one! The eye doctor, as well as the rest of the staff, were very welcoming and kind (I'd mention their names too, but I forgot to get them. Sorry!) I would recommend Stanton Optical to anyone looking for an eye exam and/or new glasses. Thank you! read more

I had a very poor experience at Stanton Optical - Mishawaka, Indiana yesterday and left very upset and unhappy. Today I called and spoke with the manager Kayla. Kayla was very nice and she listened while I explained what my experience was and she apologized profusely for the events of yesterday. Not only did Kayla apologize but she made it her top priority to turn the experience into a positive one! She made sure I got to replace the frames I was unhappy with and then when I found two pair I liked better than the 2 I had got not only did she replace the 1 frame she replaced both frames free of charge and ate the cost difference of both frames since the new ones I had picked out were more expensive. In addition to that she also made me a pair prescription sunglasses. My first experience was poor but as I have learned today you can't always judge a business based off of one negative experience/or one person working there. The fact of the matter is they took responsibility in everything and worked their absolute hardest at making the experience positive and those are the kind of business I want to be a customer of. I have now left there with my experience turned completely around. I am % satisfied with My glasses and with the way they handled the situation!! This place is amazing. I was planning on buying only one pair of glasses but by the time I left I was purchasing two. There was a great deal/special going on (buy one get one free) and the sales team were all very helpful and knowledgeable about their products and meeting the needs of the customer (me). We were a little 'lost' at first but that's when Sue stepped in and helped us through the whole process. And wow! She's good :). It was as if she was reading my mind because she knew exactly what I was looking for and found me some great deals. She made it as painless as possible and highly recommend Stanton Optical, and Sue, to everyone looking for a good deal and professional service on a pair of glasses. In fact we liked it so much that my girlfriend, who was with me at the time of purchase, decided she wanted to come back the next week with me to pick up my glasses but also look for a new set for herself. And she too made it sound like she is going to buy two pairs of glasses, and the funny thing is she just mentioned the other day that she really only ever wears her glasses before bed and sometimes in the morning and would only need one new pair of glasses but she enjoyed Sue and the service so well that she is now planning on buying a second pair. On Sat.,December 31st I made an appt for 1pm at another eyeglass store in Mishawaka. At first I was told that they were on time, then at one that it would "be just a few minutes". At 1:20 I start chatting with the 2 people next to me and found out that they had made their appts the day before, for 12:30, so of course they would be seen before me. I decided to leave and when I was asked to reschedule I told them that I would just go somewhere else. Next I went to"America'sBest...". They were worse. So I remembered taking a friend to Stanton Optical. I went in and of course they were very busy so I stood there looking around. Within 2 minutes, Heather asked how she could help me, and in ten minute s we had chosen 2 frames, in my price range(and there was a nice variety, not just that one plastic style like at the previous store). Since they were so busy the next eye exam appt wasn't until five but that worked for me so I came back at that time. I was seen on time and every one there seemed to work as a team. Dante assisted Dr Teeter. Stephanie A took over for Heather and gave some helpful info about non-glare coatings. John helped me prepare for a future purchase of tinted lenses and Kayla has helped with some follow up questions.This group of Stanton employees made me feel happy about making a purchase at their store! read more

The worst customer service I have seen in my entire life! I made my mother, who is in a wheelchair, an appointment. While on the phone with this gentleman, I informed him that she had been in the hospital, where her glasses were lost. She was currently confined to a wheelchair, and would need to be tested in her chair. Lastly, that she would be arriving to her appointment via EMT transport from the rehab center, due to her physical condition. He was very nice, and assured me that everything would be fine and there would be no problem. When we arrived to Stanton to meet our mother, we found her sobbing uncontrollably by the front door. She said, "They can't see me here." I went to the lady at the desk while my sister comforted our mom. I explained to her that I had told them all of this on the phone when I made the appointment and this woman was the rudest person I have ever met. No compassion at all, not caring one bit about my mother or the situation, and blamed everything on the "call center in Florida" that apparently didn't know that they didn't see "people like that" there. She was EXTREMELY CONDESCENDING and horrible. We will never be back there, ever. I'd rather frequent businesses that care about people. This place doesn't even deserve the 1 star I'm forced to give it. read more

I came to Stanton Optical after already getting my Rx and I had been to 2 other stores (Walmart) & (Americas Best) at both it was unclear what I was buying at what price, when I left I was more confused then anything. I felt like I was at a car lot the prices keep changing this poly that poly this is that that is this I was very unhappy. This is my first pair of glasses and I'm 58 yrs old and I felt like I was being taken advantage of. So I went on the internet and found Stanton Op so I called and young lady by the name of Sue Dantone answer the phone. I explain what I had went though at the other stores and she calm me down and ask me to come in and promised that I would'nt feel that way at Stanton OP. So I went and man was I glad I did Sue was great the selection was very good and everything she explain was very clear the price didnt keep changing and her prices were incredible I actually bought two pair and only planed on buying one Bottom line is that Stanton Op is a great place to buy your Glasses and if the sales team are all like Sue then they can't be beat either. This is a good place to go.......If you have nothing else to do, not in a hurry, or like to be ignored. Been going here for my daughter for a few years now. After the most recent visit, 2/17/18, I'm no longer going to be a customer. All we went in for was to pick up prepaid, over priced contact's. We "Checked in" at the front desk and let them know why we were there. We were told to go to the back area where contacts are picked up. OK. So we go and have to "Check in" on their pick up sign in sheet. After 20 minutes of watching the contact girl look at us, go in and out of an exam room and never once looking at the sign in sheet, I finally went up and asked who I needed to talk to for a pick up. I got the "Oh I'm sorry, I thought you were being helped" routine. I said "No, just ignored. I just need to pick up my daughters contacts" So call it what you will, but this has happened more then enough. I can understand if they were busy, but such wasn't the case that day. Stanton Optical is an outstanding source for glasses, with the largest selection of frames of any optical shop I've seen, and their prices, service and convenience are unmatched. I have bought two pairs of glasses there twice over the past six years, and I couldn't come close to their prices anywhere else, including the so-called bargain providers. My last two pairs were both progressive lenses (no line tri-focals) with designer frames, with one pair also having transition lenses, and all for $250, out the door, including eye exam. (One pair of equivalent glasses at the lowest priced competitor was $400 !) When over a year later the transition/progressive glasses broke at the temple, I was able to get a replacement pair for only $11.80. These glasses were actually outside the warranty period, but since I was a repeat customer, they gladly replaced them. I was totally satisfied and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Stanton Optical to everyone in their area to check them out. It doesn't get any better than that. read more

I went here because I don't have insurance. The wait was a bit long but that is because their computer systems were having problems due to updates. This happens and shouldn't be the cause of a bad review. The prices aren't as terrible as people seem to make them. The reason this review is so high though is because my visit was good, but Dr. Matt Bartlett was amazing. I've never felt so comfortable getting my eyes examined. He was very thorough and incredibly informative. Every step of the way he was putting my comfort first in both the exam as well as understanding what he was telling me. On top of this, we was interesting to talk to and very helpful. I will make every effort for as long as I can only to see this doctor for my eyes. His primary concern was being able to provide this quality of service at a price that anybody can afford. $29 for an excellent eye exam is great and that will get 5 stars any day of the week. This doctor is in every Wednesday and sometimes Friday. read more

I was traveling on I 80 during a recent trip to the Midwest when I discovered that my frames were broken and could not be repaired. I was referred to Stanton Optical by the desk clerk at the Micro Hotel which was also a great experience. The manager in training I think her name was Christina but not certain was very helpful and was able to find a frame that would fit my odd shaped lenses. She spent a lot of time looking and finally was able to find frames that fit my lenses. I was in and out in about 20-30 minutes and able to get back on the road without much delay. Sounds small but without glasses I would have had a hard time navigating the road. The service was great and I highly recommend them if your in the area and in need of glasses or frames in a hurry. Took my great grandson in yesterday for their $69 special, free exam and two pair of glasses. At first I was frustrated when I saw the very small selection of frames for kids, and that was compounded by the fact that he is very big for his age which also includes his head! None of the kids frames would fit him. We had to look at the men's frames, and I couldn't find anything decent there either. Then Stephanie S. stepped up to help. She found two pair of frames that he actually gave a thumbs up to, and gave them to me at the deal price. And the lady who fit him was very good also. She trimmed them up so that they fit him properly and he wouldn't look foolish wearing them. Very good experience. And we walked out with the two pair of glasses also. Very satisfied. Went to Stanton Optical after visiting three other stores. The fact that Stanton has a lab in the store providing a very quick turn-around time, coupled with the fact that they reimbursed me for the cost of an exam from a competitor, made the difference. I had crushed my glasses and needed a replacement pair as soon as possible. While most places took 7-14 business days, Stanton has them ready the next afternoon - and on a Sunday to boot! The second pair deal was also good and, even though they had to be special ordered for frame color, they would be ready in a just a few days. Glasses were not my thing. I usually wore contacts. But Stanton Optical caught my attention. I now have very unique glasses of teal with varigated brown. And also a tortoise shell one. They have made me feel very stylish wherever I go. I never had so many people go out there way to compliment me on my glasses. I took Mom over to get some glasses. Brie was a wonderful assistant. She went out of her way to make sure my 89 years young Mom would have well fitting glasses for her small face. She was overwhelmed that she was going to be able to have two pairs of glasses. First time visit at this office/location, and I am impressed! As im reading all these negative complaints about "no such thing as free" im not sure why. Before scheduling my appointment I had called and asked if they had taken my insurance, they said yes, however once I got there, there was miscommunication ( it happens), so they offered me their best promotion. They gave me buy one get one, they included my eye exam ( for FREE) my prescription lense (for FREE) and even added the glaze for night time driving all for $99! Everybody at the location I visited was very friendly and helpful. I asked a lot of questions up front, to make sure I was clear on the various deals and promotions, and the answers were clear and concise. It took me a while to choose frames simply because they had so many that I liked, and I was able to get the full suite of add-ons that I wanted (transition lenses, bifocal, UV protection, etc.) for what, ultimately, was an EXTREMELY reasonable price. I was really worried going In because I don't have vision insurance but the people are very helpful! They are kind and they do what they can to make sure you get the things you need. There are no hidden motives or costs. They are upfront and very friendly. The quality of the glasses are amazing and they have glasses in all price ranges. They have something for everyone. Can you get glasses and eye exam for $69? Yes Will you? Probably not. But seriously, do you want to? If you're on a budget, then tell them that and limit yourself to viewing only those frames that will keep them in your price range. For me personally, I was able to spend more and found FANTASTIC frames that fit my various personalities (It was a buy one, get one free deal, so I got two pair) and the staff was incredibly helpful. I am a 3 time returning customer. Their staff has always been very professional and has not once tried to sell me something I didn't want or need. She is so nice and down to earth, and very helpful. Maybe I could have gone to a chain store and bought a pair cheaper, but after reading a Consumer Report article, I didn't want to go that route again. When they took prescriptions for glasses to 10 different stores and had the resulting eyeglasses checked by an independent optometrist, 8 out the 10 were incorrect! They advise going to a local, independent eye doctor or eye care business instead. That is how I came to Julie's. It's a small, locally owned business that knows how to treat customers right. Prices are reasonable (my no line bifocal glasses with anti-glare coating was $345) and service is great. I would recommend this place to anyone! Best of the best!

Well my story started 2/15/2024. Went for glasses and they said instead I was getting cataract…read moresurgery. They said it would be a two week ordeal. I'd see better than i have ever seen before. So I got cataract surgery on the first eye. This was done by Dr Molly Walsh. Woke up couldn't open the eye. Then when I could open it I only could see white. Went 3 weeks of multiple visits to the office being told they didn't know why the swelling would not go down. Unable to see the surgeon because she was on vacation for 3 weeks. When I finally saw her she said I needed to wait 2-5 months and she guaranteed I'd see again. That she's been doing this for 20 years and she knew what she was talking about. I was so upset when I left there I was in tears. I went for a second opinion. The dr said I needed a cornea transplant because the cornea was damaged during the cataract surgery. Of course Walsh said nothing about it being damaged during surgery. He set me up to go to Indy to get it fixed. After multiple trips to Indy, staying for a week at a time at my own expense mind you, my eyes are finally fixed. I have been trying for months to get this eye dr to give me the card that I'm supposed to carry in my wallet at all times. This card should have been given to me the day of the surgery 2/15/2024. They keep passing the blame to the surgery center. The surgery center blames the Dr. I don't care who was supposed to give it to me. Someone needs to get me the card. They need to order another set of the exact lenses that they put in my eye and give me the card out of the box. It's supposed to be in my wallet. Definitely a shit show. Tired of this crap and am about to hire a lawyer. The date today is 11/22/2024. 9 Months of crap because of this place. Get your stuff together people. You are messing with people's sight and livelihoods.
