Southern hospitality and real down home cookin' are not Cape Cod things. But at The Alley, they…read moreblend good service and a laid-back altmosphere with tasty, well-prepared meats and creative sides that'll make a person sure he or she's well below the Mason-Dixon Line. We splurged for the ribs and brisket combo and it came tender, slow-cooked and tantalizing; and side sauces here are simply world class. (And there are plenty!) The atmosphere is rustic, friendly, and stay awhile chill. Eat inside, take out, cozy up to the bar, plop down on a picnic table outside near a firepit, or just bowl a few strings. Every way's a winner. Because at The Alley, they're committed to doin' it right, y'all, and it just plain shows!

Absolutely terrible customer service. This place has so much potential, but the overall experience…read morewas incredibly frustrating. The staff seemed unprepared to handle the crowds, communication was inconsistent, and several employees responded to reasonable questions with unnecessary attitude. There was also no clear manager or supervisor available to address concerns. The reservation system is confusing and inefficient, which only added to the chaos. To make matters worse, nearly half of the arcade games were out of order or malfunctioning, and several took credits without working. It was disappointing to spend money on games that couldn't even be played. One particular young staff member was especially unprofessional--she spoke to customers disrespectfully, provided little to no clear information, and escalated frustration rather than helping resolve it. With better training, stronger leadership, properly maintained games, and a more organized reservation process, this place could be a great experience. Unfortunately, based on our visit, the customer service and overall experience fell far below expectations.

I'm a tough customer. As a former hospitality manager/event planner I am fastidious about details I…read morewanted everything to go right from the word 'GO'. Now out of that field I still notice everything. I planned a gathering for our office with bowling, food and drinks. The bowling was great fun. Everyone enjoyed the surroundings, lights and activity very much. Now to the food. The nibbles provided were very nice. We ordered 3 kinds of pizza and one of them was wrong. Once reported to the staff, a new pizza was delivered. Next were sliders, cheeseburger and pulled pork, but only cheeseburger sliders were served, and with no condiments. Not wanting to sour my mood by dealing with glitches now and perhaps later when more food arrived, I just let it pass and enjoyed my evening with my colleagues. Let me reiterate that we had a good time and my boss thanked me profusely for organizing the event, so no harm there. And for those of you that say "you should've let the manager know", I did, by email the next day, again, putting a bit of enjoyment for myself above constantly keeping an eye on what was happening with the food. Would I go there again? Probably not, but for some this would be a fun night out, but to me is another "order what you want, eat what you get" place.

Huge shoutout to the bartenders Bry and Devon--they're amazing. Friendly, attentive, and clearly great at what they do. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and the drinks are consistently excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots.

Alley Kat Lane - Kingston, MA…read more I took my 4-year-old to Alley Kat Lane on March 25th for a much-needed break and some fun. We've had a little health scare recently, so we're making it a priority to keep him active and out of the house. I hadn't been to Alley Kat in years, so stepping back inside and seeing the updated arcade was exciting--especially because they have some of the coolest and most unique games around. And trust me, we've been to a lot of arcades in the area, so we know our games. We checked the hours beforehand--open until 10 PM. The parking lot was hopping, and you could hear the bowling balls crashing into pins from outside. But when we walked in, disappointment hit fast--the entire arcade was shut down. Just as I was about to give my best "are you kidding me?" face, I asked an employee about their usual closing time. And here's where the magic happened... They turned the entire arcade back on. Just. For. Us. If that isn't top-tier customer service, I don't know what is! Huge shout-out to Lucas, who went above and beyond. Not only did he get everything up and running, but he also took the time to chat with my son about his Venom shirt and favorite superheroes. The prize selection was another major win--no cheap Dollar Tree trinkets here. My son had his heart set on a giant gumball machine (2,000ish tickets), but after going all-in on the claw machines, we came up short. Luckily, they had a smaller but still awesome gumball machine for under 1,000 tickets, complete with gumballs. Honestly, I can't wait to go back. Part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem, but places that prioritize real customer experiences over money grabs deserve the recognition. Plus, the candlepin bowling and arcade are separate from the busier lanes, making it a perfect spot for families. So, if you're looking for a local spot that's not just another overpriced, overhyped entertainment center, Alley Kat Lane is it. And to Lucas and the rest of the amazing staff--my son said you made not just his day, but his entire life. We'll see you again soon!
