I did all the things, all of them Arrived to my supposed-to-be consultation with the dental proprietor of the establishment, to be served a cup of rinse. I rinsed. I spat. I sat awkwardly through 20 pictures of my teeth being taken by digital camera. I held the tongs when asked. My husband raised an eyebrow. I shrugged. I was there to discuss a plan for getting implants, as my teeth did not make it through terminal lung cancer as peppy as I did. When I informed them I was not there for the $149 super special super cleaning, confusion was thick. I said again, I was supposed to see the owner. Andrea said she works with the #1 implant specialist in the country. I was stoked. We then waited 30 minutes for the dentist who showed up delightful, gentle and absolutely clueless to anything. She asked why I was there. I said to fix my teeth. She said what's wrong with them. I said there's only 7. She asked what I was specifically there for. Now less sure, I answered... expertise? On... dental... implants? Did no one... sigh. She excised herself to peer at my X-rays for the first time, and then said she would not be able to help me, but handed me a useless post-it where 'a firmer cancer patient like me can go to get specialized care for my cancer deformity.' Um. Those teeth were pulled in the 90's, back when sedation dentistry wasn't really a thing, and my dentist pulled anything that needed more than 10 minutes work because I had panic disorder. Unacceptable in the late 80's and early 90's. Point is, it was a waste of time, a schmooze to get me there and it was irritating because now my sedation dentist is like: appreciate what you have. And maybe that's it. I'll give him 23k because my deformity, whether from cancer or anxiety, doesn't bother him And he knows I'd absolutely smack him if he said I was deformed. Because what a douche to the ego High traffic. Very busy. It's dark. Addams family decor (black blinds with dark blue floors). Don't recommend. Unless that's your thing. Then go for it.

Feeling disrespected, rushed, or stuck waiting in any medical office is upsetting, and I understand why emotions can run high around that. That said, my experience with Dr. Kaur was very different. During my visit, Dr. Kaur clearly showed me where the trouble with my teeth was, explained why those issues existed, and walked me through what could happen if they were ignored. What stood out to me was that she never demanded that I do anything. There were no scare tactics, no pressure, and no "you must do this now" tone. She simply explained the situation and offered reasonable options, leaving the decision in my hands. I felt listened to, respected, and informed rather than pushed. That matters to me. I also want to offer this gently: medical and dental offices are run by people, and people are not perfect. Schedules can run late. Communication can break down. Stressful days happen. That doesn't erase frustration--but it also doesn't mean every patient will have the same experience. I went in looking for care, not conflict, and that's exactly what I received. For anyone reading reviews and trying to decide, I would encourage taking a balanced view. Different people can walk into the same place and come away with very different experiences. Mine was positive enough that I would return without hesitation and feel comfortable recommending this office to others. Dr Laura helped me when I was desperate to get a tooth extracted. After that, I trusted her to maintain my teeth, but what I ended up getting was more Issues, that were a direct result of her work. I came into her office in pain unable to eat, and I left her office still in pain, with no relief, no antibiotics, a charge, and a referral in hand. I'm not sure if she knew at that point she injured my tooth and did not want to admit to it, but the specialist she sent me to seemed to hint that the filling she did was the "root" of my problem.

In my experience at dental offices, no prior dentist I've had for a first time at their office appointment has ever attempted to start dental work i.e. cavities, root canals etc on the same day they perform a cleaning. Eastwood had the earliest availability out of all the dentists we called. Against my better judgement, I scheduled the appointment. I wish I had not. The leading dentist is a senior citizen according to my husband is overdue for retiring. After his teeth were cleaned, she then proceeded to drill into the tooth that he was experiencing pain in and left it exposed. What she did didn't stop his pain and only increased it. Twice over two weeks post cleaning he went back to them and each time he was charged for the visit, even though the increase in pain was due to this dentist drilling into that tooth and leaving the inflamed nerve exposed. In addition, one particular female from front desk staff was unprofessional and rude when questioned over the phone and in person when my husband kept complaining about the pain. It's as if they're friendly as long as you don't question the dentist's work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
