The children's room is awesome, with lots of toys, books and a large open play space. The classes are usually packed and are interactive and fun for all the kids. The room that the classes take place in is large so there are no limits to who can attend. Spencer's music class every other Thursday is so fun; everyone has a great time and I'm obsessed with his "Disney medley" song. There are plenty of comfy chairs and private desks to use, a bunch of computers and everything is on a single floor. The parking can be a pain, as is the case with most of the Westchester libraries. The lot is usually full and is one-way, so getting out can be a pain. However, there is usually parking nearby, so it's not impossible, albeit a bit of a walk. The bestttt part about this library is its location and proximity to an awesome playground for younger children. The double swings are so unique, the rubber flooring is young child and post-rain friendly, and it's walkable to a nearby deli, CVS, Dunkin Donuts, etc. We've had some great mornings and afternoons here!

Everybody that works here is great, courteous and extremely helpful. Being part of the WLS, you can go on-line, browse what you want (books, CD's, DVD's), place a hold on it and it will come to your local branch for pickup. The beauty of it is that you have access to the whole of Westchester's library system from New Rochelle to Cortlandt Manor at your fingertips. Plus they have parking!

The bottom floor has a cafe with a lot of food options. You can only eat in the cafe area, but the options are so diverse (sandwiches, pizza, nuggets, small frittatas) and coffee is very cheap as well. Even the cafe area has a section of outlets. Multiple self check-out desks, both on bottom floor near the cafe and on the main floor. Also several help desk stations (bottom floor, two on main floor, and on top floor). My happy place. E four computers per table section but now it's two per table. I think there is 8 near the adult mystery section. There was two in the teen room, but of course if your not. Teen you can't really be there. They do holds like other libraries but unlike others you don't have to call to pick it up. I travel from my hometown because I've been having issues with pick up. Basically the computer will say I have a hold available for pick up but when I try and schedule a pick up it says I don't. Dah I've complained numerous times but the problem persists so I'll travel by bus to mamaroneck and pick up my items till they decide to allow people in. But I never have problems with mamaroneck. In fact I just attended their first zoom coloring class for an hour. I miss coloring in person but it was fun but they are only doing it once a month.

Upon the town's drastic budget changes and the amount it time for this building to be built you'd…read morelike something wonderful would be inside....but no. - when you enter, you will give your books in but they will not check them in immediately - the librarians are loud and will rush you off to another section - the children's room is covered in fabric which is known to carry germs longer. it also has over 6 foot tall bookcases in a children's room. there is also no bathroom nearby - the bathroom is in the basement. near rooms that are used for nothing. frequently you'll find people hanging out down here for no reason. Lastly, these librarians are not nice. The word "hello" is easy to say but it's not said here. They've replaced the head staff twice and no one is friendly. From a more personal point of view, I think this town tried to make a library that would match NYC standards in a town that doesn't care as much about a library as Rye or Larchmont does. The front steps even manage to flood when it rains. I would like to see this library improve but it would cost the town too much money.

I was able to buy 6 or 7 hard cover children's books for $10. They accept Zelle if you don't have cash! The main library is on the second floor. They have a spacious children's section with some seating. Employees were quick to ask if I needed help. They have a monthly calendar of events with something scheduled just about every day. In order to get a library card, you have to be a resident of the specific town or city where the library is located. So in this case, you have to live in Eastchester to get a card here. However, once you have a library card for a Westchester library, you can use it in any library in the county.

The selection is good, the "neighborhood book store" is great, and the staff is surprisingly generous with their time and attention.

It is quite spacious, with a dedicated tech room, quiet room, and a children's section with a special space for kids' programming. There are lots of floor to ceiling windows, which look out on pleasant views. Great seating options, with and without desks. They also have a cafe with hot and cold beverages and bakery items. They have signs throughout indicating what noise level should be maintained in various sections so you can find the right space for your needs. I came on a Wednesday around 11:30am and the parking lot was packed. I can see why! It's a great place to spend the day. They have an impressive calendar of events for the community and lots of educational resources.

This person walked in and started talking (more like screaming to me) like she was making a presentation to a crowd. About a library, no less…read more Currently, I'm rocking some fast wifi, plugged into a nice lamp outlet (on every table) and watching the sunset over Cold Spring Harbor. What?! Aren't libraries supposed to be damp, dusty dungeons? Not when you're dropping CSH taxes :D. Besides this room there are small meeting rooms, tutor rooms, a children's center, a porch with chairs, plenty of computers to use, and a main room that looks like an awesome lodge. There are some fatty leather chairs around this place that I would take home and put in my house. The dvd selection is large, you can download e-books to your tablet and rumor is there are some books somewhere around here. No joke, this is the best library I have ever seen. Take a second to enjoy the quiet and the view here anytime you can.

The only negative was that I was expecting a coffee machine in the cafe they have but no coffee or tea. There was only a vending machine for snacks. Tea/Coffee machine would definitely be a nice addition. But other than that it's a nice library with lots of room to spread out. Lots of private nooks to study or have group sessions. There's a huge conference room and a very nice game room, too!
