I don't understand the poor reviews, perhaps people are ordering the wrong things. Or perhaps people are injecting their personal preferences versus being introspective and think... "Perhaps I didn't like it this way, but other people do so I'm not gonna do this small business harm when everyone's out here trying to make it?" I don't know. But anyway! this is my second time here and I failed to read review the first time. Both times it came for Happy Hour. I set up the bar and I was served by Kelsey G. She is fantastic! I hope she doesn't get mad and won't let you in on our little secret. You gotta order the wings with the lemon pepper dry rub and then a side of hot buffalo wings sauce. Absolutely crazy. Plus, a blue cheese in the ranch must be Housemade because they are out of this world. Also had an order of the Mexican calamari-delicious. And you know what we did? We drudged that calamari through the lemon pepper sauce from the wings. Sent us straight to Heaven! We had the Gramps cocktail, wasn't strong at all. It tasted like fruit punch. But we're thinking perhaps it's one of those sneaky cocktails that goes down easy, but bites you in the butt later, lol. Also had the lavender Bellini, absolutely delicious. Also got the pineapple martini, Taklatini, it was supposed to have a cinnamon, simple syrup, and and frankly it just tasted like a pineapple Martini with nothing special added. We checked out the menu and decided we would definitely come back to try some other items. We don't live nearby, but now we're thinking we would go out of our way to stop by to support it. One entree was sent back to be redone and didn't return until everyone else was done eating. The manager did comp this meal and offered free desserts. We came here because another business that we planned to go to initially right next door was closed, so we decided to just try this spot - and coming here ended up being a good thing. In fact, I'm glad we ended up here after all. This place is located in the Moorestown Mall, but you don't have to venture too deep into the mall to come here - in fact, the entrance is close to the mall's entrance. Everyone was friendly. The hostess who sat us was nice and our waitress was great. I really wish I remembered her name to give her credit here, but she was great all around. The menu had a lot of nice options that I really wanted to try, but I ended up with my regular and reliable bacon cheeseburger. My hungry eyes though is going to remember some of the other items for potential future visits. We also got the onion rings, which were very good. The burger was quite good as were the fries. The atmosphere inside was nice and relaxing and the music was good - this was mid afternoon, so it's likely the music changes for the evening. There is a choice of sitting outside or inside - we chose inside at a booth. As mentioned this is in the Moorestown Mall, so there's plenty of parking available. Disappointing experience -- several things need attention Unfortunately, our experience at Ryfe in Moorestown was disappointing. The restaurant's atmosphere was unusual and not particularly inviting. The dining room had Christmas lights and curtains separating the rooms, which gave it a strange, unfinished feel. The bathrooms were also filthy, which is especially concerning for a restaurant. We sat in the bar area, which was very dark, and the table lights weren't working. There also wasn't anything on the table that you would normally expect, such as salt and pepper. They didn't bring water to the table unless you specifically requested it, and when I ordered a beer, they simply handed me the can rather than offering or providing a glass. The food was the biggest disappointment. The California Chicken Sandwich arrived without the mayo or avocado listed with the sandwich. The roll was extremely hard, honestly, like a hockey puck. They were kind enough to substitute the fries for a house salad, but the salad arrived without dressing and was very dry. We also ordered the Chicken Pesto, which was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, between the cleanliness, strange atmosphere, lack of basic table service, and especially the issues with the food, this was a very disappointing experience. There were simply too many little things that added up to a poor dining experience. We would not return. read more

What a happy accident! We were trying to go to Joe Italiano Maplewood, but unbeknownst to us, the Moorestown location closed! Across from them was Ryfe. We perused the menu and were in! Yay for pasta, what my heart was set on! Not only is this place gorgeous, the food was AH-MAZING!!! My Mussels in white sauce was sick good! Huge mussels atop absolutely delicious pasta. I actually asked if it was house made. Wasn't - I was shocked ! "Sir" had Tuscan Chicken and really enjoyed it! Our server, Sara, was pleasant, bubbly and attentive. We gave her deservedly kind props to the co-owner, Chris (see photo). I always enjoy when the managers, etc., stop by to talk / ask about meals. We learned that the chef, Marvin, does tastings (see photo for room) every Saturday night from 7-9 pm - 5 course meal, including wine and Prosecco, for $69/pp. RED SKY was the band playing tonight - sounded good plus nice people. I went with some colleagues during the week for lunch. The service was good. I was surprised how empty it was for the week before Christmas. The mall parking lot was packed. The restaurant is big but fragmented into several rooms. Overall the food was good. No real complaints. It's just not a lot for the price. I ordered the veggie flatbread and was not worth $17.99 even with today's prices. The sandwiches don't come with fries so that's an extra charge. The veggie flatbread was pretty good. I liked the cauliflower crust. A little heavy on the sauce though. Just a personal preference. It just seemed underwhelming to me. read more

After coming here about a year ago, we decided to return to Ryfe on a Friday for dinner and drinks. The space is large with a beautiful bar. Quickly after being seated, we remembered why it's been so long since. Service was not great, even though we were maybe one of five tables sat at the time. Drinks came out quickly, but it took almost forty minutes for our one appetizer to come out. And when it did arrive, it was almost cold. We were pretty hungry and don't like to complain, so we ate it as is. The calamari tasted very good, but it certainly would've been better hot. Then, not even a minute after the calamari came, our entrees arrived. I had the tuscan chicken pasta (once again, flavors were amazing), and my boyfriend had the pesto chicken sandwich. After finishing our meals, we once again sat and waited quite a long time for the check and a box. Overall, I loved my pasta, but I don't think we'll be returning. We almost decided against trying Ryfe and that would have been a huge mistake! I've been wanting to make it out to Ryfe now since they've opened, but I usually don't go out that way. My parents and I were deciding between a few different places that we've never been before to try for Happy Hour and Ryfe was on our short list. After reading some of the reviews we were hesitant and even almost left after arriving and the bar being full. We were told by the hostess that we could sit at the Tiki Bar and would be assigned a server (it was pretty crowded and they only had one bartender working) so that's what we did. We were greeted by our server, Sara, who was a rockstar. The entire dining experience was elevated by her professionalism, her attitude, the way she interacted with her customers - she is truly incredible at her job. On top of that, she wore a smile the entire time between waiting on us at the Tiki Bar and her hightop tables - something I'd never be able to do in the service industry. We were blessed to have her and so is Ryfe. I do want to give some praise to the bartender as well. She was making drinks for the entire restaurant as the only bartender on shift and the wait for drinks was never long. Happy Hour here is an incredible deal. 3-6 DAILY (yes even the weekend) with select $5 cocktails and select 1/2 price appetizers. Our entire bill was $66 for 7 cocktails and 4 appetizers. All of our drinks - Taklatini, Grampie's Crash & Burn, Quaker Juice, Johnson Margarita, and Mexican Mule - were all very good especially considering they were each only $5. Our favorites were the Crash & Burn and Quaker Juice (we weren't sure which was which lol) which definitely fit the vibe of sitting at a Tiki Bar. Yes the Tiki Bar is an odd feature in the middle of a mall bar/restaurant but it offered the feel of extra bar seating so I'd prefer that over a table. We also thought the food we ordered, all half price, was a great deal. The Ahi Wonton Tacos were our favorites! A must order and less than $7 on happy hour for 3 tuna tacos! We also enjoyed the Buffalo Wings. The Grilled Calamari was a nice change up from my typical fried calamari orders and the grilled poblanos added nice flavor and a tiny bit of heat. All things I'd order again and again! Next time we'll pass on the Mozzarella Basil Tower - wasn't bad but there are other things on the menu that sound a bit more exciting that I'd like to try. Our entire drive home we could not stop talking about our entire experience. From the food, the cocktails, the prices, and the service we received from Sara (my family is always bar first and will only sit at a table if no bar seats are available - we'd gladly forego bar seats to have Sara as our server again), our first time at Ryfe was a hit and we cannot wait to come back. read more

We have eaten here multiple times since it opened, the quality of the food as well as the service have definitely gone downhill. We got there tonight at 5:48 and no wait staff came to our table, seated in the bar area during happy hour. Several servers walked by, looked at us and kept on walking. A couple was seated next to us @ 5:58 and waited on immediately. After waiting almost 10 minutes we walked out. The manager was apologetic however, this restaurant has been taken off of our list of favorite restaurants and we will not be returning anytime soon. read more

My wife and I recently dined at Ryfe and unfortunately left very disappointed with the food, although I do want to recognize that the service was friendly and attentive, and the drinks were very good. We started with the Mozzarella Basil Tower appetizer. The presentation and flavor were underwhelming. It consisted primarily of three thick slices of tomato with very little mozzarella and minimal seasoning. It was far from what we expected when ordering a "tower." For our entrees, I ordered the Tuscan Chicken based on our server's recommendation. The dish was very bland, lacked the spinach mentioned in the description, and the pasta was average at best. It was the kind of meal you finish because you're hungry, not because you're enjoying it. My wife ordered the Lemon Chicken, also based on the server's recommendation. Unfortunately, it was even more disappointing. The chicken breasts were extremely thick, bland, and served with supposedly jasmine rice. The presentation was uninspired and the overall dish lacked flavor and creativity. Very bland! We shared a slice of carrot cake for dessert. While I understand cream cheese frosting requires refrigeration, the cake was served so cold that it negatively impacted both the texture and flavor. A few moments to temper the cake before serving would have made a noticeable difference. Our bill was approximately $135, and while price itself is not an issue when the food is good, we simply did not feel the quality justified the cost. Stopped in for happy hour with new friends. Large selection of appetizers were half off and there was a limited number of speciality drinks for $5. The place itself was nice with a decent size bar and high top tables including a tiki bar. Outdoor seating as well as a dining in area. For the size of the place I was surprised that the ladies room only had two stalls. The drinks were tasty. We ordered the tuna taco's which were fresh had a nice sauce but needed more of it. The wings came in 3 flavors we got the Asian - tangy and sweet. The cauliflower and bacon were a perfect combination. I didn't try the sliders but was told they were good. The service was slow. We had to wave down the bartender to get refills, order more food and to get the check. It wasn't very crowded for a week night but did seem under staffed. read more

Extremely disappointed. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that others deserve to be aware. Service was poor from start to finish, and both appetizers and main dishes were served incorrectly. The prices are high, the mixed drinks were tiny and expensive, and the food quality was poor. Portions were tiny for the price, several items were served cold, and the assistant manager was unprofessional and rude when attempting to address the issues. My lady told me that this place has happy hour all week. 3pm-6pm. It's the holiday season so we were def looking for a bargain meal these inflationary period end days. I do not know too much of the origins of the restaurant, I should have took the time to google it before I decided to write this review. What I do know is that they have some affinity towards Atlantic City. The space is pretty large, and the dinning area is nice, but hidden behind a large wall. It is also connected to the mall so before/after eating you can take a stroll. We took advantage in of their half off menu. I ordered the wings not knowing what to expect, other than I was hungry. I bit into the first drum, tasty and juicy. It was actually pretty good, I will be back for them, maybe for a sporting event. We also ordered the flat bread pizza, and it's wasn't no Angelo's but it hit some pizza craving chords. The only failure I committed was ordering the fried calamari. It wasn't good. I am not sure how to describe it, but it sucked. The waitress so super nice and attentive to our needs. She made great recommendations. Like I said, will be back for the wings. read more

Trying to have dinner at the Ryfe was one of the worst experiences I've have had in many many years!! They brought the entrees before the appetizer. We sent the entrees back asking for our appetizer. Then they brought the appetizer with fries that were supposed to be with the entree. We sent the fries back. They never brought plates and silverware until the appetizer got cold. When the entrees came out they were cold and 2 of the dinners were not what was ordered. The fries were supposed to be crispy. They were mushy and cold. The assistant manager did NOTHING to help remedy the situation. Bottom line is it was a terrible experience and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Went with my husband tonight. He had a "classic" burger, which had no seasoning, no tomato, or pickle even which... Shouldn't that be part of a "classic" burger? Fries were bland and soggy and apparently were extra $ which wasnt clear in the menu at all. I had shrimp scampi and it was SPICY even though the menu mentioned nothing that would indicate spicy. For a seafood restaurant, I feel like they should know shrimp scampi is not supposed to be spicy at all. It should be savory and buttery. Worst of all, menu prices did not match the bill. Another sports bar, TV's everywhere. Food and service are very good. We went in mid-afternoon on a weekend and both times it was dead. They have 2 other restaurants very close to them in the same dead mall. While I personally like Ryfe's food better the ambience if you want a restaurant is better at the others. Let me start by saying I do not like giving bad reviews but this restaurant was just not good. Best way to try a restaurant is a happy hour. This way you can try the food but not break the bank. My friend and I came in at 330pm and asked about the tables in the bar. Hostess says " do we have a reservation?" At 330pm on a Friday? No reservation but she seats us. (Side note: a restaurant host should be pleasant as they are the first impression of the restaurant. This young lady was very off putting with her demeanor). Looked over the menu and ordered an assortment of apps. We went with the wonton tacos, Chelsea fries, arancini balls, shrimp skewers and flatbread pizza. The fries and tacos were good. The arancini were very very gummy. No crispy outside and all the flavor was from the sauce. Shrimp skewers had no flavor other than the preservative they put on frozen shrimp to keep them fresh. This means they were not rinsed properly. (Hubs worked in wholesale seafood). Last but not least the the cauliflower flatbread pizza. No clue how this tasted as it got sent back. I looked at and it just didn't look or smell appetizing. On the menu it says it has corn salsa on it. Mine didn't and when I said something to my server she said, "oh yeah they took that off the pizza.", but the menu wasn't updated. The pizza also just smelled like raw tomato sauce. No spices nothing. As far as ambience, I don't know what this restaurant was going for. They want to be upscale but have a tiki bar and a wall that looks like a prom back drop. My server was friendly but this whole experience was odd and off putting. Even our menus where dirty. That should have been the sign to leave. read more

They put raw avocado slices on top of the tacos and considered that worth eating. Service, very slow. They stated kitchen was overwhelmed with the customers but the restaurant was half empty. 2nd star for - Wait staff was courteous, ambience is loud but if you're looking for that it's there. It was opening weekend so staff is still learning the wireless tablets they have, and procedures, but they did great overall. Very friendly and attentive. The menu has some great offerings and all of the food we had was delicious. Only bad item was the side of broccoli with the entrees, way too salty. If I could give them a negative star I would. We ordered the tomato mozzarella appetizer and the tomato wasn't ripe at all. It was dark and gloomy inside the restaurant. My fiancée and I both ordered burgers very well done... specifically said NO RED. After waiting for a half an hour and being the only guests in the restaurant the burgers were brought out. Raw in the middle and burnt on the outside in between a burnt bun. What a shame. To top it off the manager was clueless about what to do or how to fix the problem. Zero stars. I made a reservation on Google which partners with Toast Tables. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. We were seated in the dining room which had a couple tv's. Our server, Jade, came to our table right away. We were also welcomed by the COO, Joe DiMarino. We started with the spicy sausage flatbread as our appetizer. It was good but wish there was more cheese and sauce. Our entrees came out before we finished the flatbread. The timing needs a little work. The scallop truffled couscous was very flavorful. I felt like I was eating a salad with the combination of all the healthy ingredients. I only ate half as it was very filling and I wanted to save room for dessert. My husband had the Bleu Filet. He said it was very tender and the Bleu cheese melted crumble paired well with the filet. My son had the LoCo burger and he said it was a juicy burger. For dessert, we got Joey D's (named after the COO) skookie which you have to order when you get your entree as it takes 20 minutes to bake. It was soft and gooey. I love a warm chocolate chip cookie. Again, we were still eating our entrees and the skookie came out so the timing of when the order is placed should be adjusted. I prefer to have a little break in between each course. For being only the 4th day of the restaurant opening, there are a few adjustments that need to be made. I'll definitely be returning to enjoy the scallop entree again. read more

My wife and I went for lunch on a Tuesday around 12 pm. The waitress was also the bartender we were the only people in restaurant we were sat at high top table. Not asked if we wanted one. We placed our order 1 app 1 salad 2 burgers. We added fries to the burgers which were pricey for sweet potatoes waffle fries and not hot burger was ok average no flavor. The app was the tuna once again no flavor. We never received or salad was not on our bill and never mentioned by server. During our meal the servers friends came in and that was taking up her time. The assistant manager was interviewing a new employee. Our bill was $70 I tipped 20% but over all ok food average to poor service. I should have went to harvest or yard house. We made a reservation to try this new restaurant on a Friday at 6pm. When we arrived we asked to be seated in a booth - there were plenty available, and the restaurant was fairly empty - but the waitress said we'd need to put a comment in our reservation to get a booth. Huh? I never heard of that. In the dining area, there was a loud speaker above our table, seemingly playing the evening news, though all the TVs in sight were playing sports. Though we asked several times if they could turn it down or turn it off, it continued throughout our meal. We ordered mussels as an appetizer - which came out lukewarm and not overly good. For the same price, all nearby restaurants have much better mussels. I ordered the surf & turf for about $70 and asked for the steak to be medium done. The steak arrived well done, and the lobster was burnt, the entire bottom charred black for a half-inch up, and as you might image very tough & chewy. I'm rarely one to complain at a restaurant, but I asked to speak to the manager and explained our poor experience and how badly my meal was prepared. The manager only offered 20% off. I left, barely eating any of my meal, since it was very unappetizing. Overall, we had two appetizers, two dinners and some cocktails, it cost near $300 (after the 20% off) and it was an awful meal! I can't imagine this place lasting long with such poor service, food, and even worst customer service. I'm never going back. read more

They put black tablecloths over the retro diner tables from the Hash House, the previous (but surely not last) in a line of failed restaurants at the location. Visited for a late lunch before a movie. Place was empty but it was an off-time. Server was kind and food came out quick. There were brackets mounted to the wall at every booth that looked like they were supposed to hold tablets? Server said she didn't know what they were for. Beers were like seven or eight bucks a piece. Mid selection. Had a burger, it was fine. Expensive beer and a boring burger in a dark room ambiently lit by Sports center. They had a large group in the room on the side which might have impacted service but either way, we sat for about 10 minutes before anyone picked up our table. The meal was kind of bland. The sliders were overpowered by the onions. They are still repeating on me. The steak was thin with a good deal of fat. Not much flavor. This seems to be more of an appetizer and drinks place.
