I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

So cool that they have a whole separate dog menu with tons of options. I ordered the shrimp salad for myself and it was amazing and my husband had the chicken wrap which was very good too. We never really got checked on while we were eating so we weren't able to order more drinks so that took away from the whole experience. I didn't have the pleasure of visiting Dog & Bull before it was renovated, but I visited last night and can't wait to return. My friend and I made a reservation for 5:30 PM (just in case) as we read online that reservations were recommended, but I don't actually think one was needed. When you walk in, it's bright and inviting. The garage doors throughout the property provide a ton of natural light. I can only imagine how lovely it is when they're open in the summer. Additionally, the outside has a nice patio and an area with a fire pit. The restaurant's layout was designed wonderfully! Our server was Alex (Alexandria) and she was the epitome of exceptional service. She checked in on us multiple times and always had a smile on her face when she came over. We really appreciated having her. The baked feta and hummus appetizer was just as delicious as it looks in the photo. The thick pieces of garlic, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers and pita bread triangles paired so nicely with the feta. The hummus was warmed up and it looked like the kitchen staff may have torched the top of it. It was phenomenal. Boy do I have notes on the lentil burger - it was 10/10!! I'm not a big bean person and even though this burger had beans in it, it somehow tasted like an actual beef burger. Sounds crazy, I know, but trust and believe it was pure excellence. I added cheddar for an additional charge and upgraded my regular fries to garlic parm fries. Finally, the caramel apple bread pudding... oh my oh my! What a DELIGHT. The top was piled high with a big scoop of frosting. Yes, you read that right. Frosting! Not ice cream! You can taste the apple pieces in the bread pudding. My friend and I wanted to order it twice. It was THAT good. It was easy to make my way to Dog & Bull from Center City thanks to the Septa station located directly behind the restaurant. Street parking also wasn't too bad yesterday.
