It was run by an older couple and they had a sign on the door to announce how service would take a while . We were willing to wait and we enjoyed chatting with the female owner and some of the other patrons at the counter. It was totally worth the wait For our 3 egg omelettes, and great coffee. If you are capable of waiting for them to do their. Job, you will not be disappointed. A great place to know about on the eastern side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes.

Stood in the doorway for a good 4 minutes before getting acknowledged. The lady finally asked the one other worker to clean off the table, took around 5 minutes before getting Sat. As we were waiting for the lady to come over for our drinks and food order we noticed that no one in the place had food. A family of four came in and they were told it'd be about an hour for a seat. Finally we were able to have the lady come over for our order, I ordered home fries and the lady said they just sold out. She's asked if I wanted anything else and I proceeded to say no. She's like oh you don't like breakfast food, I said I just wanted home-fries. She did ask if I wanted lunch instead. I said no thank you. We needed up leaving in awe that a diner would have run out of home-fries by 11am when no one in the restaurant had appeared to have ate. Not sure how this is so highly rated. Very disappointing. Ended up driving 40 mins to another place.

It's the kind of cozy place where the atmosphere alone can brighten your day. The menu is extensive, offering something for everyone, and the food is absolutely delicious. Whether you're stopping in for a simple cup of coffee or sitting down for a full breakfast like we did, everything is prepared with care and served with a smile. Nick, the owner, truly sets the tone. He welcomes every guest personally, greeting you like you've just walked into his home. His attentiveness and genuine hospitality make all the difference. Bonnie, who was helping that day, was equally amazing so friendly, happy, and kind. You can tell she's a truly good soul who loves what she does. This family operated diner delivers an experience that honestly feels better than many Michelin-starred restaurants. It's not just about the food, it's about how they make you feel. If you're visiting the wineries around Geneva and Seneca Lake, don't forget to add Tucci's Diner as a must stop on your trip. It's the perfect place to start your day or recharge in between tastings. We found the Elf in the Oak on Yelp and once we saw the menu, we knew we had to give it a try. The Elf in the Oak is nestled on Rt 414. If you're not actively using a GPS, you may pass it by. It's not a large place by any means, but there's more than enough seating indoors and out. We went on a Friday morning, so there wasn't a wait and we received our food quickly. We both wanted 'the Spicy' and I have to admit, it's one of the best egg sandwiches I've ever had, which is high praise coming from someone who once worked at a popular bagel joint on Long Island. If we lived locally, we'd definitely go back, but I hope if you're looking for a quick casual brunch place to grab a bite, you consider visiting the Elf In The Oak.
