Crispy and crunchy Fried Pork dumplings with spicy or sweet tangy sauce ...
    Mauro D.

An authentic Izakaya experience has landed in the heart of Downtown Miami. Ryo Sushi crafts playful combinations that define their signature rolls. This cozy corner spot is perfect for gathering with friends over drinks, starting with crispy pork gyozas dipped in sweet or spicy sauce, an ideal warm-up for the sushi feast ahead. The lineup includes the Salmon California Maki (salmon, cucumber, avocado), Spicy Tuna Maki (spicy tuna, cucumber, spicy mayo--hot, addictive), and K-Dragon Maki (ebi tempura, cucumber, scallion, cream cheese, avocado, spicy mayo, eel sauce). The K-Dragon is literally blowing fire of satisfaction. From the deluxe selection, the Ryo Maki (ebi tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber, tuna on top, yuzu aioli, togarashi) delivers a balanced kick, while the Torched Salmon (ginger soy, yuzu aioli, truffle oil, scallions, crispy onion) melts with tangy, smoky depth. The Tuna Tartare Maki mixes ebi tempura and avocado in an Asian-tropical dream excelled with eel sauce and furikake to make it completely irresistible. Even the salmon sashimi, often too simple for my taste, impressed with its freshness and clean flavor. Though tucked in a busy downtown corner, the space feels warm and inviting, thanks to Florencia's exceptional service, she leads the place with the grace of a Japanese Kōgō (Empress). And surprisingly for now Miami standards, you will still find it affordable for the proportions of the rolls. Arigatō, Ryo Sushi, for bringing one of the best interpretations of sushi rolls to Miami.

This ramen was pretty mid, the flavor was good but the noodles were so overcooked they were breaking on my fork and the broth was very gelatinous. Good in a pinch tho

This place just opened up couple months ago but the food was great. I actually liked everything we ordered, the ramen was my favorite. It gives me a NYC style restaurants vibe and the staffs were very nice and helpful. Price was decent and not over the budget.

The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The fish melted in my mouth, and the rice was perfectly seasoned.

The decor is so plain. If it were not for the Sushi bar you would not feel as if you were in a Japanese restaurant. The Tranquil atmosphere is gone. The restaurant is very busy, we felt pushed to order. The waitresses look stressed out. The space between tables is very limited. Conversations of the people from the next table is very clear and audible. The New menu which was introduced a few weeks ago does not have the same items. The sashimi dish for one person is gone. Now you have sashimi for 2 at $60. Prices have gone through the roof.

It is small, beautiful with open space, and intimate that you will enjoy very much. The music is piped in and is relaxing. They provide excellent service and show pride of ownership. We didn't have reservations but we were welcomed and even received the best seats in the house. Our server was Francisco, who has worked there a long time, was excellent! We chose the Oma Deluxe because we wanted the entire experience. Francisco explained each sushi and what part of the fish we were eating. Each dish was brought out separately. There were about 9 pieces of different cuts of fish. They were delicious! My daughter had Sake and I had Non-alcoholic beer. Both went fine with our meal. Afterwards, we were served dessert. What a great experience! Give it a try when you can. Later, we went upstairs to ASTRA restaurant and bar to further enjoy our evening with beautiful views of Miami. Parking is mostly limited street parking though, so plan ahead. This spot is more about curated tastings, sashimi, nigiri, and handrolls rather than specialty rolls, so don't expect a huge roll menu. We ordered the sashimi assortment, white fish tasting, seared salmon, bluefin tuna tasting, unagi foie gras, and a few handrolls including blue crab and negi toro. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful, especially the bluefin and unagi foie gras. Portions are on the lighter side though, so we left satisfied but not totally full. Cedrick was awesome and really made the experience better. He knew the menu inside and out and explained everything perfectly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Wynwood and want quality sushi without the overly trendy vibe.

The setting in Bal Harbour is beautiful, very polished but still relaxed. It's definitely the kind of place you go for a nice dinner where you want things to feel a little elevated without being stuffy. Service was solid overall--attentive and professional, though at times it felt a bit rushed, like they were trying to keep the pace moving more than letting you fully enjoy the experience. Food-wise, there's a lot to love. The sushi was fresh and well-executed, and some dishes really stood out with great flavor and presentation. That said, a couple of items felt a bit underwhelming compared to the price point--good, but not quite memorable. Portions also lean on the smaller side, so it can add up quickly. All in all, it's a great spot with a cool vibe and very good food. Not flawless, but definitely worth going--especially if you're in the area and want a stylish dinner with consistently good quality.
