So I have to say, I am highly pleased after a couple visits here. Why? Well, it is simple. They arent snobs! i will explain. A lot of places you go (and this means small specialty shops, not smoke shops in particular). But often times, you go into a small specialty shop, and they assume you know everything. Since they cater to enthusiasts, aficionados, and experts, they often dont seem to 'welcome' new people. And this can be a problem with gaining new customers and encouraging the hobby or brand. Well, S&A I have found is NOT like this, and it is a GREAT thing. I recently (This past summer), tried a couple cigars at charity golf tournaments. I enjoyed it, but did not know much about them, choosing, different kinds, brands, etiquette, etc. You can do research online and read, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. Most often, it is learning from an 'expert' that helps you find your way. Well, when I went into S&A i told them I was new, I was learning. They helped me. (I think it is a father and son, but there was a younger and older gentleman that both helped me at different times). They explained things in a simple manor to me, made suggestions that were reasonably priced, and helped me with accessories, even showing me how to use things. This was great service, as it helped give me a base, and they did not make me feel like an idiot. they understood I was new to the hobby, and helped. A lot of small shops would just scoff at you, and make fun of you for not knowing or being an expert. This is the wrong approach, and I am glad to see S&A does not take this approach. if you are interested in cigars, learning more, or getting into the hobby, i would highly recommend a visit here! read more

I'm reluctant to give S&A 5 stars, not because they don't deserve it, but because I want to keep it a secret. Barry below gave an excellent review, and I want to add that John and his son Steve make everyone feel special. A no snob zone it its, where the only thing that counts is your first Oliva Serie V with guys that know how good it is and why it is so good. No, this isn't a gas station or 7-11. John has a vast humidor with premium brands that are hand-made... At unbelievalbe non-snob prices. And if you want to have a good conversation about any subject with friends you look forward to seeing, this is the place to go. But please keep it a secret! read more

Best online cigar purchase ever. They were very responsive and showed great customer service from the careful packing to the quick delivery. If you've purchased a few cigars for yourself and have a better than general idea of current trends, bigger names and associated prices, don't go in here ... however, If you need a cigar in a pinch, its after 8:00pm, you're in the area and you're desperate, this is the place for you. The inventory for a FEW major names was sparse .. but the best was picking out a few bigger named smokes (with no listed pricing of course) having an idea of what they SHOULD cost (give or take) but not only paying almost $5 more for each, but being told they're actually worth a few dollars MORE than he's charging .. like he's cutting me a deal .. too funny. But i was in a pinch and ..... So .. i'll be better prepared next time or will just go without. just my 2 cents read more

My wife and I moved to Watertown a few months ago and I couldn't be happier to have found this place. S&A smoke shop is the best cigar shop I have ever been to, and for someone who smokes cigars as often as I do, that is a bold but truly accurate statement. I discovered this hidden gem by accident. I discovered my new favorite cigar in New York City and couldn't find it in Boston. Then a big cigar dealer in NYC told me I could get them in New Hampshire, which I did for a while, for a 1hr Drive each way. Then I drove by S&A and noticed them by accident and asked if they carried my cigar. To my surprise they did! Not only that but they kept it in a separate humidor and they are always fresh and moist. This is now my go to cigar store. They also have a small smoking area with seats and a TV. Keep it up! read more

I had a need for some good quality cigars the other day so I had to make a trip to a local store. I normally prefer to pick up cigars from those tobacco shops in small towns off state highways, which always seem to have the best prices. S & A has a good selection but there are definitely cheaper places. They only show prices by the cigar, but you get a 10% discount if you buy an entire box, so be ready to do math in your head if you buy by the box. They also don't have any cheap cigars. Nothing was priced below $5. The parking nearby is all metered parking, but at least in Watertown the meters take nickels and dimes. I started smoking cigars about twenty years ago and have used most of the major online distributors as well as all of the local stores around greater Seattle. NO ONE maintains the top shelf selection that SandA stocks and the prices are more than reasonable. I regularly purchase rarities that I never see elsewhere. I wish there were more than five stars available because the service is beyond STELLAR. By far the best out of all the distributors that I have bought from. Steve is a super cool guy and has made doing business there a pleasure. My only complaint is that they aren't located in Seattle!! read more
