First time coming here. Piggy backed on man date with my husband and his friend. The drinks were excellent. Tried a lavender gin drink and then a pineapple mixed drink and dirty martini. All were made perfectly! The bartenders were so nice and happy to make suggestions on drinks as well! As we were guided to choose our cigars the girl who helped us Kira was very knowledgeable about different cigars. We ended up with a coffee flavor cigar. It lasted a good amount of time! This was my first visit here, and I plan on returning. I've been to the Tel Aviv Waterfront numerous times (which I also like), but my friend wanted to try a new spot. Ale House has comfy chairs, a friendly laid back atmosphere, good ventilation, high ceilings and a full bar. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive. I would give this place 5-stars, but it doesn't serve any food, which would be a valuable and appreciated addition. I go to cigar lounges all over the U.S. and my son and I had a great time here. It's always interesting to see how different locations do things. They have a lock on the humidor so you have to get assistance to go in and get your cigar. Decent selection. Great seating arrangement. The servers were very friendly and took care of us. They even filled up my torch. Old fashioned was perfect. If I come back to the area I will stop by for sure. read more

First time at AHCB was enjoyable on a recent Saturday evening, very conveniently located in a safe area with a bunch of restaurants and bars. I enjoyed a drink and cigar while watching sports on the TV. It was moderately busy and the service was excellent from the humidor to the table service at the bar; I enjoyed a fine Nub Connecticut with a highball. There was a good mix of men&women and the place seemed vibrant; I look forward to returning soon. read more

Ale House Cigar Bar So I want to first say this is a great place but it's more pub than lounge or chill place to smoke. I think it's great place for anyone from 21 to upper 30's cause of the vibe. Best eye candy of all the cigar spots in Providence (Karissa is a firecracker), ownership is wonderful and; you can tell they care about the product they put out there, service is chill they're friendly enough and there's a huge selection to pick from. My buddy is a regular and they knew what he came for as we walked in and that speaks huge for me. You could dress or dress down if that's your preference. I was in love Ol Blue Eyes aka Frank Sinatra night. There's live music and the people in here are great. I could see making this my weekend spot. read more

We were there in the evening but I thought it had a film noir and romantic feel to it. We found a romantic corner and enjoyed a glass of wine with our cigars. The service was great. There is an extremely racist server here (Katie.) I have been coming to this bar for awhile and have always really enjoyed it, and have never had a problem. The service there had always been great but they hired an extremely unprofessional and racist server who I had not encountered before. As a bar located in a diverse community, it is simply unacceptable to have staff that is not trained to serve international clientele. My friend had her passport with a photo, which is a valid form of ID. The server (blonde curly hair) said that she needed a second form of ID "to make sure that the passport was hers." When my friend tried to explain that she is not an American citizen so does not have a different form of ID, they proceeded to CALL THE POLICE on her which was absolutely ridiculous. Literally no crime had been committed. They accused my friend of being too intoxicated, when I was with her all night and she only had 1 glass of wine (and nothing was said to our white friend who actually had been drinking.) This server treated her like she couldn't understand her and that she didn't speak English (she does, she just has an accent) and tried to have my friend "translate." I am incredibly disappointed. I really liked this bar but as long as this server is employed here I absolutely will not be coming back and will spread the word that they employ bigoted people here that don't respect Chinese patrons. read more

Ale house cigar bar is nice, cozy, and really personified a lounge. High ceilings, plush chairs and nice furniture. I was visiting RI and wanted to smoke a stick while I was there. Ale house is a great place to do so. They do have specials on drinks and cigars so I recommend asking if they don't mention it. Humidor is nice and has a decent selection. If you're not sure what you want, staff will be able to assist and can offer great suggestions for pairings. Service was great and I really enjoyed this place a lot. read more

Inexpensive for a Lounge. $35 for two mixed drinks and a cigar. No prohibition on bringing your own cigar. Obviously buy something if your using a seat. Bar staff is very attentive and made all my drinks perfectly. I say this because last three bars in RI I went didn't know how to make a Old Fashioned or a Vodka Gimlet. Ale House Cigar is a traditional, classy cigar lounge with very knowledgeable staff in all things cigars. Upon entering, you're greeted by Shawn, the best dressed doorman in RI. He's a fountain of cigar knowledge. Once you're inside, Jake, the manager and humidor expert, will help you choose the perfect stick to compliment your adult beverage. The lounge is neat and spacious, and once the weather turns to Spring, the large French doors are opened letting it all hang out. I'd like to also thank Jake, Shawn and the managerial staff for a recent generous donation that was made to a local veterans charity. It's was so kind and went above and beyond. Incredibly unprofessional. We call and make reservations 10 days ahead for a bachelor party and when we show up the manager tells us that they don't have a record for the reservation. They blamed it on "the new girl". They tell us that they don't make reservations on the weekends. This is incredibly disappointing as we had planned the night around this. read more

A favorite hangout of 75 this place has grown on me. If you looking for a good smoke, friendly and knowledgeable staff in a dark wood leather loungeyish experience then you cant go wrong at Hanley's Ale House Cigar Bar which is attached to Hanley's Sports bar (though you have to go outside to get there). The crowd can range from the lawyers and politicians stopping by for happy hour to a younger set on a friday night. its really a good mix at any time. There is a medium sized pub menu (food is tasty) from next door available but most are here to smoke a fine smoke and have a perfectly done cocktail. The humidor has a fine selection that should satisfy. The staff make the experience special. always polite and conversational they are eager to please.
