    No blankets whatsoever.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Came here for a couples massage and it was the worst "massage" (if you can even call it that) we've ever received. A total scam - DO NOT GO HERE if you actually have gotten a legitimate massage before cause you will know the difference. First, when we arrived, the entire place was dark and empty, not at all inviting. We were escorted to a room that smelled like someone had just done a #2. The women's massage table had facial padding, while the men's side didn't. There was a bathroom of some sort that was wide open with all their materials (not at all enticing to look at). As we were getting dressed the reception lady kept coming in and out, without even knocking! Like no client was in there changing. There wasn't even a blanket of any sort to cover you once you are undressed! There's NOTHING at all on the men's table, and a tiny thin covering on the women's table that barely covers your entire body. If you are tall, it'll probably be from your shoulder to just above your knee. THAT'S IT. Moving on to the actual massage. Two ladies came in with such loud force and about 5 minutes into the massage, their doorbell incessantly started ringing and the woman massaging my fiance disappeared for a good TEN MINUTES as what we assumed her dealing with some front desk situation - leaving my fiance just laying there, then after 10 minutes, a lady in a short red dress appeared instead. On my end, the woman massaging me just covered me up with the small thin blanket I mentioned, and SQUEEZED me for almost the entire 60 minute session. There was about 5 minutes when she actually massaged me properly on my back and also my calves - but other than that, she basically just squeezed me. There was one point where she piled a bunch of semi-warm wet towels on my back, and then when they were no longer warm, she just pulled all of them altogether off my back and left me with NO COVERING whatsoever. Leaving me there lying wet in the back and cold. There was also a part when I was turned over, and again because there was no actual blanket that covered your entire body, when she moved the thin covering down to my foot so she can squeeze my feet, my entire chest area got uncovered. She did not even care to realize this happened, or cared to look to see of course, considering she should know the length of the very short blanket she has been using for a good 30 minutes already. So I was there laying on the table face up with my chest area just exposed!!! As I lay there, I was thinking, IS THIS FOR REAL RIGHT NOW? I AM PAYING FOR THIS? But I had no other choice but to just cover myself up with my arms!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then shortly after, she decided to come back to the upper torso area, and as she was above me, since there was also no face covering or anything her chest and shirt was just pressing down on my face. No care whatsoever. So many times I had just wanted to stop the "massage" and run out, but considering when you are basically naked and are at their mercy, we were in no position to be forceful and complain at that moment. On top of it, for most of this horrendous "massage" they spoke loudly and banged around the entire time when moving to get lotion, or going in and out of the room. NO relaxing vibe whatsoever! There were no oils used, just some cheap lotion that left white marks all over our bodies, particularly mine that I had to run home and wash off all the white residue that was also all over the inside of my clothes by the time I was able to get home to shower. We went here because we thought it was a legitimate "spa" with a nice ambiance - which was a huge mistake especially since we paid full price for the "massage". To top it off, as we were leaving, one of the masseuse had the audacity to chase us for a tip!!! Like they deserved one considering everything, and on top of her being late. I also looked at the clock, and there was no way we even got the 60 minutes we paid for. Go here if you want to be bamboozled out of $200 and have the worst spa experience of your life.

We intentionally planned so that this will be last so that we can take the day to relax and rest our body to go back home to our daily lives after busy day in NYC. We did some research and made sure to come on weekday earlier in the morning so that it's not too congested. We got there at 10:00am on Monday morning as which was perfect time. They have valet parking but it cost additional money so we just used their free parking lot which is located a block away from the main building on the same side. Once we got there we checked in and were guided through with instruction on what to expect and rules. Once you check in your bag gets checked. Be aware that you cannot bring any outside food or drink. You can bring empty water bottle/container which is highly recommended. After the bag check you take your shoes off and drop them off at the shoe locker which is guided by the staff. After that you enter the inner zone. It's recommended to start at floor 4 so that you can go to the main locker to drop off your other luggage and change into swimwear if not already. It's also recommended to take a quick shower before going into the pools and baths which you may want to do once you go to the bathroom. Once you are settled you can put your robe and go on your way to the amenities. We started our experience on the 4th floor at the outdoor bath. Started on foot bath with stones, silk bath, carbon bath, and hinoki bath which were nice and relaxing. We then went to Dry sauna and ganbanyoku which is hot stone sauna. Hot stone sauce had few different type of stone you can lay on so we decided to try all of them. Once we were done we went into the cold bath with waterfall to cool ourselves and went to try the bath with water jets/hydrotherapy. There were few different types that target your back, neck, foot, ...etc. we basically tried them all. They feel pretty nice and some are pretty strong almost like S massage. Once we were done with 4th floor we registered for volcanic sand bath which is an extra charge $20 experience per person. We scheduled a time and went up to 6th floor for our session. Once they are ready they go over some information and precautions and get you changed to yukata. They do recommend to go naked under for full experience and i do recommend it as well. Once you are ready the staff will take you to a spot and have you lay down and start to cover you in volcanic sand from Japan. Once you are covered you lay there and enjoy the experience. It's like you are laying in the sand at the beach that are hot and heavy. Its feels very nice and relaxing. They will leave you about 10 minutes and will give you some cold towel on your head which feels great. You will start to feel some sweat dripping from your body and your face. Once it's about 15minutes the staff will come and direct you to get up and give you some water to hydrate. They will make sure you feel ok before directing you to go to the shower to wash yourself up before changing back to your Swimsuit. It's a good idea to go full naked under because sand will get under everywhere and you can clean them off during the shower. Once you are cleaned up we took a quick break and had lunch at the food court which is directly next to the volcanic sand bath on 6th floor. We got bulgogi with rice and fries to share which was ok. Bit expensive but to be expected with facility of this kind. Once we were done eating we went down to 5th floor to enjoy the saunas. We tried pretty much all of the saunas including salt, charcoal, red brick, infrared, stone, and clay. We took a quick break in ice room and once we finished the sauna we took a quick break at the relaxation area and lay down for a bit. Once we were relaxed we went up to the 7th floor and enjoyed the infinity pool. You can see the skyline of NYC across the hudson river. Took some photos of the gorgeous view. We lay down for a bit to relax and went back down to finish the day with foot bath as we were cold coming out of the pool. We went back to the 4th floor to change and check out. Got our shoes and walked back to the parking lot yo head out. Overall i liked the experience that was offered at sojo spa club. I can see that our experience may have been different if it was on weekends and or if the weather was not good but we planned well and was also lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy the facility to its full extent and i liked it. Service was good and a lot of the process was stream lined so that our time waiting was minimized. Would come back again.

I booked the Paradise Premium package for my husband's birthday, which included a 40 min Korean body scrub, a 1 hr deep tissue massage, and a 1hr foot reflexology massage. My only complaint was that they purposely assigned three different staff members for the three different services, which felt a bit disruptive. On the bright side, I really enjoyed my female scrubber and masseuse by Linda and Nancy, though I didn't care for the male masseuse as much. For amenities, there are two main saunas in the co-ed area. I loved the clay mud ball room, it was a unique twist! They also have a Himalayan salt room, which was enjoyable, though it didn't get very hot. Just a heads up, inside the shower locker area, there is a hot tub and a steam room, which is a fully nude zone

So long story short, after planning to return in a few weeks, we will NEVER go back. When you check in you have to give your credit/debit card, or ID, or car keys in order to be given an electronic locker key to keep your belongings. You then select a spa "outfit" (pants and shirt) in your size. In the next area you remove your shoes and put them in a cubby. Then a super fast run through by a woman with a heavy Asian accent, so you barely understand. I was heartened by the happy reviews and surprised to see how affordable the massages were. That should have been my first warning sign. Upon arrival, the space seemed clean enough. The first floor is more of a waiting room (with a couch upon which the proprietor was laying down and phone scrolling when we arrived), and the upstairs space is dedicated to the actual massage rooms. There are a few rooms with multiple beds, and these, too, were laid down with towels and clean looking blankets. But the massage itself was terrible. My male masseuse's technique had zero finesse. The first part of my hour-long massage was through a thin sheet, and his general method was to rub the same spot over and over again until it felt raw and I was plaintively begging him to use less pressure. You'd think adding oil would make things better, but no. That's when he turned my various limbs into a clumsy slip-and-slide experience for his hands and forearms. I quickly regretted adding the extra 10 minutes for a foot massage, during which he somehow uncovered all the pain points of my feet with his knuckles. At one point, he even smacked my bottom. I'd like to see the massage training book that recommends that kind of practice. Over on the other table, my husband had a slightly better experience. But during a couple's massage, it never feels good when the two masseuses whisper to each other in another language and burst into barely disguised snickers throughout. The final nail in the coffin was when my husband's masseuse laughed outright after he yelped because she put freshly hot stones on his back. Since our experience was so different from all the other customers, it's possible we just pulled the short straws from the deck with our masseuses. But I believe we got what we paid for and suffice it to say it won't be a repeat experience.

I wish I can keep this gem all to myself but then I thought why not share the love and promote supporting local businesses such as this massage place. Don't be misled by the current storefront name "Moonlight Spa." It's legit and no-nonsense spa that really does the service impeccably and the place immaculate. Front-desk: Cindy or Jordan in the front does not push for services. I personally love the hospitality and no frills kind of welcome I get and the nice gesture of their offering of room temp Poland Spring water post-massage. It's no Pelligrino but hey in Asian culture you should not shock your system with cold water especially after a massage. Massage: I like the deep and hard tissue massage thrice in this place so far usually by older women and they are strong and know where to dig through your knots. Being in a cavewoman posture and hands tingling pins and needles from my "desk" job, I find relief with their technique -- it's like they know where to ease the pain and address my pressure points. All in all I feel like a pretzel from the massage and I sleep like a baby that night afterwards. Of course, you can request them to go deep or go light with the massage! I find them very attentive. Place: It's accessible by public transpo (there's Uber, too). I like to be on peds though, you'll pass by local shops regardless which direction you are coming from. The place itself is very clean, minimalistic (I find clutter anxiety-provoking.) I find zen here though the seats for foot massage could use a visual update. The massage rooms are simple and neat. I love and feel comfortable with the thoughtful positioning of pads and sanitary covers because Covid and Monkeypox are real! I also appreciate the fact that they offered me a mask when I forgot mine. I really think wearing a mask for venues like this should be an ongoing practice. Price: It all comes down to the $ at the end of the day and I find this place up to my standards and meeting my price point for an in and out kind of place -- you can spend a whole day here but certainly if you are on the go and want to get a message in during your lunch break, this is a good place for that. I think it's reasonable and they do give discount cards like loyalty points. Honestly, I'd love for them to have a loyalty program by referral! Other incentives: I love love how the hot stones come with the body massage. The sheets smells and look clean - trust me, I have high standards. The floors are mopped (you can tell) and the music is serene and calming. All in all, kudos to this establishment for what it offers and the service they give. I feel like a new person every time I leave this place and in better spirits than when I'm about to open the door. And yes, it is that good! This place is on top of my self-care list! When you go there, say Michelle's post on Yelp sent you here! :)
