I had my engine replaced in my 2010 jeep commander, i told them i lined up a new block for replacement if it needed, when they confirmed it needed a new motor he had a WHOLE motor with 100k miles for same price pretty much as the new block with zero miles. I figured whole motor sould save me money on labor since it would be just a motor swap. found out later it was just the block he got me, and he wanted me to pay for a new starter and water pump though mine were good. i figured the new motor wasnt the exact one so mine wouldnt match up. sigh wrong again so in short i paid over $1000 more then quoted originally. after all that my had a key fob issue and they ended up reprograming my key for $300 but i found out i could get a new key fob and it programmed from the DEALERSHIP for $180 not $300 to reprogram my old key fob,..... riped again... then my car broke down and found my alternator went bad, something they didnt catch so i ended up having to pay for another tow to them so he put on a used one for free since he has already fleeced me for so much at this point , and of course it whines so it wont last long..... i also just found out my a/c which worked perfect before they got it now has a massive leak at the compressor on the motor which i thought maybe they just didnt recharge system after motor was replaced... not sure if intentional or just stupid ignorance on their part and im afraid to take my car back to them for fear what else they will mess up.. they have now cost me a few thousand more dollars then this should of in rapiars, and tows not to mention i had to walk home after it broke down after being in their shop.... i highly recomend unless its something easy anyon can fix to take your cars someplace else to fix, shermins automotive around the corner from them would be a far better choice. read more

Would not take my own dog there. I requested a repair on my car that was not repaired, and I requested an oil change. to his credit he changed the oil not with the oil I supplied. I supplied my own antifreeze.too read more

Although a new location, the owner is not new to me. Rich stuck out on his own from a former repair center and my son and I have followed for a few reasons. One, close to my office, which allows me to drop off vehicle and get to office, thereby not having to wait out the service. Second, great service at a price that is fair to both the consumer, me, and the shop, Rich. Rich is truly customer orientated and wants you to be satisfied from the beginning artg to come back! Rich serviced our family cars for over 15 years at another repair shop, so it was a no-brainer that we followed him when he and his son opened their own place in Mentor a couple years back. If I could give zero stars I would. I had a nightmare of an experience with the owner Rich being deceptive and dishonest earlier this month when I brought my Cadillac to his place of business for repair. I had a radiator hose that needed to be connected and a headlights to be repaired that were disconnected after having some body work done elsewhere. I called to find out how much the cost of the repair would be after he said he would call me back the day prior and did not. Rich said he found two rims for 750.00 plus 75.00 each for tire pressure sensors(which my sensors were fine) and I told him I will pass on the recondition rims because I knew I can buy the rims for $50-$100.00 each at the most. Then he said okay well without the rims the bill will be 650.00 and I said I did not authorize him to just do the work on his own accordance. He then said he will take off a couple of hours of labor because it took 5 hours to get my head lights to work however he would have to pull the high beam fuse out so that the lights will not stay on high beam because I needed a new turn signal arm that has the high beam switch. Anyway he then called my girlfriend and said he will charge only $365.00 So then she called me and told me thew price and she told him too that we did not authorize him to work on the car that we wanted a price before he did any work. I threatened to call the police on him and he said he is a Christian person who is honest and said for me to get my car off his property within the hour or it will be impounded. I had my Dad pick up the car immediately and I came to get it from him later that evening and when I was driving the lights turned off completely every time I used my turn signal. Stay away from this guy he is a rip off and very shady doing unauthorized work and charging insane prices and claimed to be a Christian on top of it when confronted for being dishonest and crooked. read more

I normally do my own auto repair, however, I had an engine misfire that I was unable to cure. Not having proper gauges to trouble shoot the problem any further, I took the car to S&S auto care and asked for help. I made an appointment and when I took the car to S&S the problem was corrected the same day. When I received a call telling me that the car was ready, I asked if they could look at another problem while the car was there. It turned out that my front wheel bearings needed replaced. They kept the car for an additional day, replaced the wheel bearings along with other worn parts and did a front end alignment. I am very pleased with their work and professional mannerism. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs any auto repair. read more

I have lived in five states and always had difficulty finding a good mechanic I can trust. After moving back to Ohio, I had some issues with my 2007 high mileage "battle wagon" Honda. It may seem like a small thing, but I decided to give S&S a chance because Rich put a photo of himself in his mailer advertisement. To me that meant he was aligning his reputation with his business. I respect that. I have two words to say about the his service and repair: Quality and Value. I've compared pricing and he is always the best (don't judge this shop by the small storefront...they look like they manage their space well).
