I had initially called S&S Electric because of their superior Yelp reviews. They are indeed so deserving of each 5 Star review. I called S&S on 2/7/17 for a quote to relocate a kitchen light fixture roughly 6 feet. I thought the price was reasonable, so I scheduled the service for the following week, 2/13/17 between the hours of 9 to 11 am. Steve arrived at 9:20 am (very impressive) and was finished by 10:30 am. Excellent customer service, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Just like to add, I'd bought a NEW kitchen light fixture the day before, hoping that S&S would install it instead of putting up my old one -- Steve agreed (and I was extremely thankful). To my surprise, installing the new light fixture in the new location, did not change the price. In fact, my final cost was less than the initial quote I had received. I will definitely be using them for ALL my future electrical needs! I highly recommend S&S Electric to everyone. read more

I found S&S Electric after googling "electrician Arlington VA." I called them because another business I called told me to email and then never returned my email, and the fact that they had a smaller ad space made me think they would be more reasonable. I lucked out. This was my first time calling an electrician, and I was incredibly pleased. They were very helpful on the phone, gave me an upfront price quote after hearing my needs, were able to come to my house within a day (and at the time I requested), and then were very polite and helpful when they showed up (on time). They fixed my problem efficiently, gave me advice on fixing another problem, stayed within the estimate they had given me for charges, and didn't leave any mess. These guys are old world craftsmen! By this I mean they take pride in the service performed (quality and aesthetics). I hired them you mount (motion/dusk-to-dawn) lighting outside of my brick-faced garage and rear deck as-well-as install dimmer switches to my recessed lighting in the interior of my home. They were on-time, professional and knowledgeable from start to finish. I called Dave and Steve after reading the great reviews posted here and you guys were correct! Another company wanted to charge me a service fee for an estimate???!!! An estimate??! These guys came out provided a free estimate along with the job scope and I ran with them. The wiring work was spot on and as I previously mentioned they took the time to ensure that it not only functioned as requested but was encased (in a way to where even if your eye caught it you had to say to yourself that it was pretty workmanship). S&S just finished a whole house rewire of our 1881 historic Victorian. This meant taking out original wiring (and by this I mean knob and tube), going where no person has ever ventured to run the new wiring and dealing with all types of old house problems. Two other companies wouldn't even bid on the house. Not only did S&S do a great job, but I got the impression that they really enjoyed it. The top floor of our house was destroyed by a lightning strike and an ensuing fire. The house was built in 1896 and the wiring had to be completely re-done. What experts!!! There were wires that were actually burned by the fire, lines and boxes that were soaked and shorted out by the water to put the fire out, and lines that were fried due to the initial lightning surge. They basically re-wired the whole house and solved every other difficult to fix situation in the house! Steve researched different kinds of fixtures that we were trying to install for different kinds of lighting needs AND some other things that were burnt out due to the lightning -- like a door bell and an electronic gate opener. After a couple of visits, I realized how trustworthy they were and then I just left them with a key while I was at work. Dave and Steve have known each other since middle school and work together like brothers. Good temperament, on time - good communicators via email and priced fairly! In the 3 years we've worked with Steve across 5 major jobs we have been nothing but 100% satisfied and would never use anyone else to do electrical work. He and his team were ALWAYS on time and professional, and provided grade A work. They have rewired an outside deck, kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom, and upgraded all switches to 3-way and grounded switches and plugs including a central a/c unit and a refrigerator and stove.
