Ultimately, my project was transferred to someone with the bandwidth and initiative to properly handle it. She finally got the long-languishing repairs on track while competently navigating further challenges that arose along the way. I believe now that the source of the problem is that I was unfortunately working with a designer who was not effectively communicating my repeated concerns or requests for escalation through the company channels, which left me stuck in an endless loop of delays and setbacks. That said, I have lingering concerns about the repeated quality-control lapses involving the cabinet supplier itself. While S&W ultimately worked through the problems, the number of defects, replacement parts, and repeated corrections was well beyond what I would reasonably expect on a new installation of this scale. In fairness, I also recognize that had I been more assertive about making sure management directly heard my concerns, the resolution likely would have come much sooner. Once I finally went around the bottleneck and escalated the issues myself, things began smoothing out quickly. In summary, I don't believe my experience reflects the company as a whole as much as an unfortunate mismatch with one designer who was not effectively managing communication or escalation. Once others within S&W Kitchens became involved, the project moved forward much more professionally and efficiently. I would like to thank all involved for, ultimately, a good result. My wife and I decided it was time to remodel our outdated kitchen last year in the middle of the pandemic. I had been doing research on several companies in the Bay Area and felt that S&W would be the best to do the job. I was absolutely right and very glad that I selected them for my remodeling needs. Our consultant worked with our schedule to meet our needs and never made us felt like we were asking for too much. He walked us through from the measurements, selection of backsplash, cabinet style and countertop. Unfortunately, our consultant fell ill and wasn't available to assist once construction began. No problem- our contractor Hector was there to fill the void. Hector switched many hats during the entire construction process and assisted us in any unforeseen circumstances. After getting the services of S&W One year and a half year ago, almost 2 years, Dale was the person that planned and helped us choose and gave suggestions when it came to do an open canvas kitchen and cabinets for the bathroom and another for the media room. The kitchen cabinets started coming and parts and mistakes from Dale started to show. Cabinets were ordered wrong in some parts. Refrigerator subzero door handles ordered wrong, it does not match the rest of the handles on the other appliances. So they reorder the panel. The colors of the cabinets were all different, not a little with some variety of brush strokes but very different. We decided to go a pale color blue for the cabinet in the bathroom and they sent one as the same color as the kitchen island. I told him I did not want that color and he offered 20% off the price and I said no. Dale said he was going to send it all back to be painted and the structure itself would be painted by somebody coming to the house. I said no because the paint would peel but the did it and after receiving the drawers back it starting peeling. It was such a bad job, some sides of the drawers would be painted and some not while they are doing all that Dale bailed on us and got a job in Colorado and left without finishing the job. It was like we never hired them and I had to go and talk to them after 3 months of a stay still and nobody contacted us or showed up at the house.After Dale left nobody ever came or called. It was like they were never hired to do anything and I had to go there for them to realize that we were there and in the middle of a project that stopped and they forgot about it. Now one day I said enough and went into the S&W on East lake road and asked to talk to a manager and Larissa took all kind of notes, she said she would take care of it all. The shelves that were planned (by Dale)for the side of the gas stove did not pass inspection with the gas company and it needed to be metal and not wood. Mind you that the shelves were already installed and tiles so we would have to brake it all off and Fred just sent us the new shelves by carrier and that was smaller and thinner and they could care less who would do the exchange and fix all the tiles back up and the walls since all was already done. First came the paint that was inside the cabinets in the kitchen that the over-sprayed, they told me to use a product called Naphtha and a sharp razor to remove it, us the people paying for them to do their job. I told her I did not want the bathroom cabinet since was painted and repainted and peeling and I did think their stuff was supposed to be new and not used, I was going to get my own bathroom cabinet since she said my guy should just sand it to the bone again and paint the color of my choosing. Not them but us to take care of it. Then if I got my own who would fix the damages on the wall of the bathroom? She said this on her email: (We reviewed (The owner of S&W she said)the request to refund the amount for your bathroom vanity. We are willing to credit you in full for the vanity cabinetry. The total credit is $5488.15 (this includes taxes paid) This should allow you to replace the cabinetry in your choice of finish with a different vendor. We cannot credit the counter top since it is the correct finish and shape, however you should be able to re order cabinets in the same layout so the counter top can be reused.) We got the top because is the one that matched and went with the cabinet in the bathroom and now they won't give us the refund on that either. Today May 27 I got this: The panel has come in for the refrigerator  Larissa has asked me to reach out to you for the balance due before she schedules the installer to come out The amount due is on her last email  They also said that they have 150 employees at the time all this happened and also said they can't keep a tab on all they do, your choice. My last thing: the hood finally came and was installed on January 22nd 2022 Wrote S&W 3 emails since last year. Not one of them was answered. read more

We purchased our kitchen cabinets 4 years ago. The stain on the doors had begun to wear off and we needed additional shoe molding to finish some additional work we had done. We contacted S&W asking if assistance to purchase additional shoe mold and stain to touch up our cabinets. We were asked to send them pictures of the cabinets and they said they would get in touch with the manufacturer for us. 3 weeks of calling and leaving messages went unanswered. Today, I finally went to their showroom. That salesman told me the person we'd been calling was "out sick". For 3 weeks? He offered to look into my request for me and within 20 minutes called to tell me that he "had information, but I wasn't going to like it". Basically the manufacturer had discontinued the color cabinets so I'd have to look elsewhere. S&W Cabinets is really helpful when they're selling you $$ cabinets. Just don't expect anything helpful after they've made the sale. So terribly disappointed. read more

Dale Steward at the Palm Harbor office worked with designing our kitchen. We were limited with what we could do because of space but he gave us good options for better use of the space available. I appreciated the updates from him and communication while the project was taking place. He deserves 5 stars but the workmanship by the remodeling crew was often shoddy and needed to be redone several times. We had to stay on top of things at all points as there were different people in and out and communication on that end of the project was lacking. We are happy with the overall finished project but do feel they are high priced for what you get. We were new here from Michigan and heard a radio advertisement about them so visited their showroom. The products available are lovely and as stated earlier, Dale was a delight to work with. Too bad the rest of the crew was not showing the same integrity. read more

I've never written a bad review before, but a bad kitchen remodel is not like buying a bad toaster. After spending more than $50,000 and six months on a six to eight week job our kitchen is finally finished. On August 20th when the old cabinets were removed, we were informed by Eric Rodeback, the building superintendent, that the entire wall where both the refrigerator and range were situated was six inches smaller than measured by the designer Shirley Aguilu. And so the disaster of mismeasurements, lack of communication, and excuses began. The wrong sink was installed. In one area, the wrong cabinet components were installed. The backsplash tile was initially installed vertically instead of horizontally as planned, which meant hundreds of dollars had to be spent on more tile. The electrical plan was not followed and had to be redone. Although Ms. Aguila is considered a kitchen design expert, it took three trash pullout cabinet doors before she got it right. It also took three refrigerators because she couldn't figure out how the door was hinged. The last refrigerator sticks out six inches beyond where we were told it would. This tight spot was one of the main reasons for redoing the kitchen. We ended up with no improvement and a big notch in the new quartz counter. I'm not making this up. In addition to numerous mismeasurements, there was also a lack of communication. For example, when the second refrigerator was not delivered when Ms. Aguilu said it would be, she did not feel it was her job to tell me that the refrigerator was not going to be delivered as promised. To be honest, I don't know how Ms. Aguila keeps her job. In general, Mr. Rodeback communicated with us about problems as they arose; however he was trying to implement a flawed design. Also Tim Hobson, the director of field operations became involved. He helped resolve many issues, but was still unable to deliver the finished kitchen as designed and on time. This was the worst company ever to work wirh. Nothing had changed from the reviews i have read. My kitchen was done in 2015. It took 7-8 months to do. It was a fight the whole entire time they were here. We even quit paying them because they could not order anything correctly, could not install correctly, and would never show up. Owners got involved. It took the plumber 4x before he could get plumbing right. Cabinets reordered 3-4 times. Island was ordered 4x. We hired them because they advertise on wfla. We thought they would be reputable. They are not! Too much money for all the stress we had to incur. Shop, shop, shop....there has to be someone out there with brains. We used S&W Kitchens for our total kitchen and foyer renovation. We literally changed everything from our floor to ceiling in each room. S&W handled every aspect of our remodel. They handled everything from demo, plumbing, electrical, flooring, ceiling removal and all of our kitchen cabinets are custom made perfectly for our kitchen. Our granite is absolutely gorgeous and looks like the ocean it fits perfectly with our home decor, colors, etc. Each employee who came into our home were very nice and respectful. They cleaned their work space every time they worked at our home and also sent a cleaning service into our home to clean any dust that built up on our furniture during the demolition. We have 2 dogs that loved the employees as well and it made the process even more enjoyable. Our designer, Lacie, was absolutely in tune with that we wanted and was patient as we took our time to pick out each piece of backsplash, tile flooring, granite, lighting, etc. We are remodeling our dining room next and we are 100% sure we are using S&W again for this renovation. read more

I used S&W for my kitchen and bath remodel. They did a great job for the most part but with all projects of this scope, there are bound to be a few hiccups along the way. The designer assigned to us, Sarah, made the initial planning process as painless as possible. Our angular walls in the kitchen were a challenge, but she managed to lay out a floor plan that worked for us incorporating our needs, ideas, and suggestions along the way. She helped us pick out tile, hardware, cabinets and countertop, lighting, appliances, bath fixtures, and everything else needed. There was a few measurement mistakes with the shower door, laundry room cabinets, kitchen window, and bathroom mirror that created delays in the schedule but they tried to work around them as best they could. The one area where we felt the ball was dropped was her not being with us on certain key, stressful dates during our project after being told she would be with us every step of the way. Two days in particular were the first day of the demo and especially the date of the cabinet delivery. We were left to deal with that ourselves and were not happy about the no show. Short of that, she did a good job. Our project manager on site, Mike, was fantastic. He gave us a schedule with a time line for the entire project and worked fiercely to make sure everything was done correctly, on time, and to our satisfaction. He kept us appraised of who was coming, when, what work was being done and the time to expect them. He was always cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and responsible. He was a stabilizing force that I came to rely on daily. He even went above and beyond with help fixing a few small things for us that were not his responsibility, which was greatly appreciated. He gets an A+. I would hire him again in a minute. A few other stand-out employee's who worked on the project were: Handy-man Stewart, who could seemingly do it all from painting to carpentry, and was probably the nicest guy I've ever met in my life. His attention to detail was spot on and he handled every job efficiently and expertly with a dash of down home southern charm. Another A+ employee there. Tile guy Mike, who laid the kitchen floor, put up the backsplash, and tiled the bathroom shower was exceptional. He was a perfectionist who measured every inch of each tile job with precision and laser sharp attention to detail. The results were flawless. The final key player was cabinet installer John, another skilled craftsman who not only cut and installed all cabinetry, but also installed our windows and shower door. He was faced with a few challenges from incorrect measurements, most notably with an over-sized floor to ceiling laundry room cabinet which he had to figure out how to try and fit into a small area that was not easily accessible. It created a lot of heavy lifting and extra work for him to have to take it apart and reassemble it back together, but he got it done. There were a few issue's with plumbing and electrical work that created problems with inspections, but project manager Mike made sure everything was resolved and brought up to code. Two groups I wasn't impressed with were the painters and the cleaning people. I don't think the painters properly prepped the walls as there were many blemishes in places were picture hooks or nails weren't properly removed or patched. The cleaning women spent most of their time on site chatting, did not do a thorough job with cleaning out cabinets and dusting, and made clean, newly painted baseboards stained and dirty from a sloppy mopping job. I refused a second clean-up visit at the end of the project because after the first time, I knew I would do a better job. There was also two occasions when workers brought family members into my home (one brought his wife, another his young son) even though they were not covered by S&W insurance and should not have been on the premises. The project manager was not aware of this and followed up to make sure it wouldn't happen again. All in all everything worked out in the end. We came away from the project with a beautiful new kitchen and bathroom, and the feeling that the folks at S&W did their best to make such an intrusive, messy, disruptive, time consuming situation as stress free, organized and professional as possible. My wife and I are truly enjoying our newly remodeled kitchen. S & W Kitchens did an amazing job meeting our demands and making sure that every part was done to our satisfaction. We live in a condo and had no problem with them not cooperating with the Association rules and regulations, including things like where to park and which elevator to use.
