If I could give S S Motors zero stars, I would. This place was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I don't even know where to begin, so I'll just list the highlights of my experience. First, the "customer service" - if you can even call it that - was nonexistent. The sales rep was more interested in checking his phone than actually listening to my questions. When I asked about the vehicle's history, he stared at me like I had just asked him to solve a Rubik's Cube. He kept saying, "It's a great car, trust me," which is not reassuring when you're about to drop a few thousand dollars. The cars they sell? Oh boy. I asked for a test drive, and they handed me the keys to what looked like a car that had been through a demolition derby. It was dirty, the tires were bald, and there was a mysterious stain on the seats that I'm still not sure what it was. I wouldn't be surprised if the car was previously used in a warzone. I think I might have found an expired slice of pizza under the seat. That should've been a warning. Now, let's talk about the APR - or as I now call it, "Astonishingly Preposterous Ripoff." They hit me with an eye-popping 29.9% APR. Yes, you read that correctly. A 29.9% APR. When I pointed this out, the finance guy just shrugged and said, "Well, that's the rate we offer." Apparently, offering you financial ruin is how they do business. So if you're lucky enough to walk in there with a pulse and a heartbeat, they'll happily offer you a rate that's higher than most credit cards. I asked why it was so high given my solid credit score, and the response was essentially a word salad of vague excuses and "market adjustments." Yeah, because apparently, the market's really adjusted in their favor. To be clear, I wasn't just being offered a high rate - it was an insane rate that made payday loans look like a good deal. On top of that, when I asked for a breakdown of costs, there were additional fees I wasn't told about upfront. Things like "processing fees" and "dealer adjustments" that felt like a scam artist's wish list. When I questioned them about it, I was given the cold shoulder and a bunch of mumbo jumbo that didn't make sense. I finally walked out, but honestly, I probably should have run out of there screaming. I'm convinced they wouldn't hesitate to charge you extra if you asked to use the bathroom. Long story short: AVOID S S Motors at all costs. They'll try to lure you in with cars that look good on the outside, but once you're in, they'll hit you with hidden fees, the worst financing terms I've ever seen, and a total lack of customer service. Do yourself a favor and find a place that doesn't treat you like a walking ATM. This dealership is a joke, and I regret even setting foot in there. read more

I had an unfavorable experience with the staff here. Ryan Morris was pleasant and helpful, but extremely disorganized-- and incompetent if I'm being completely honest. It was my first time ever financing a vehicle, and I needed a bit more guidance on what to do, and Ryan just missed the mark completely as the dealership had to contact me several times about things that were not clearly discussed when I first purchased the vehicle. On top of that, Ryan signed for the loan check that I expedited over for the remaining amount for the car, and then called me to tell me that it was missing! If that's not incompetent, I don't know what is. John needs some lessons in customer service and how to talk to paying customers, even if he just returned to work from recovering from surgery. Chances are, you'll likely work with either of these gentlemen so beware. Serj is the only good thing about this company and is probably the one holding it all together. I usually love to support local businesses, but I won't likely do business with them again and I would not refer anyone to them based on what I experienced. read more

On Sunday, May 8 I paid a $500 deposit To SS motors in Edmonds for a 2010 Prius, under the agreement that if I was unable to obtain a loan I was comfortable with, I would be refunded the amount in full. After seeking out financing through my credit union and then through the dealership's lender network, I was unable to obtain a loan with agreeable terms. On Wednesday, May 11 I notified John, the sales rep I was working with at SS motors, that I would no longer be purchasing the vehicle from them and would like a full refund. John refused and then made a series of excuses as to why I wouldn't be refunded the $500. He was irate and unpleasant to speak with. On May 12 I called SS motors and asked to speak with the owner. A man named Sergei answered the phone and listed off the same excuses John did the day before to justify the unjustifiable act of not refunding me the full $500. Sergei stated he would pay me only $250 and refund that amount back to my debit card. I gave him my debit card information so that he would be able to do so, but made no statements to him concerning any sort of agreement with this arrangement. Well, I stopped in to look at a 35 year old pickup truck. Although I ended up not buying it (because it did not meet my needs), I must say it was in very good to excellent condition. Tires were almost new Michelins, the undercarriage was bone dry, the oil was fresh and right up to the fill mark. The engine was spotless with many new parts. The motor started right up, purred and downshifted with no hint of valve tap. There were minor problems with the rear direction signals and it needed a new windshield. I also want to complement the owner, Serge, and his staff. They were all helpful but not pushy. It was, all in all, a satisfactory experience. I wish SS motors every success. read more

I was swindled!! Learned a lesson... be very careful with any used car dealer. I traded in my old identical truck that needed a new clutch, which they gave me $600 for, and are now selling for $6,000. Bought same model truck but with power everything, allegedly only 99,000 miles (am doubting the authenticity of that, wouldn't put it past them to change out the odometer). They sold to me as in "excellent" condition blue book price. At first oil change, Jiffy Lube told me it had a blown head gasket. It did run alright, so I kept driving it, with an eye on it... at second oil change, no sign of blown head gasket... but then driving it over the pass to an out of town job, head gasket completely blew. My guess is, they knew perfectly well the head gasket was bad, and put a can of fix a gasket in it to hide the fact. Beware. They are liars. I could go on... and the sad part is... the truck I traded in was fine, except for the clutch which would have only cost about $1,600 for a pro job replacement. Am willing to bet whatever was done on the clutch by them to resale it, was minimal... like instead of full clutch replacement, just one part to make it run by cheesy mechanics in the back. $700+ towing bill and have a truck with a blown motor now. Basically robbery... go to some place that aren't thieves. read more

My daughter bought a used car from here 4 months ago. The head gasket was blown they kept the car for weeks supposedly fixing it. We picked it up several weeks later only to have it overheat within 15 minutes. Once again they picked up the car to fix the thermostat took 3-4 weeks. On the way home this time, white smoke again. The engine was completely blown. They have had the car for 2 months now and are refusing to fix it. They dumped it in a Mercer Island parking lot and now my daughter has a bill there. They have made 4 payments on a car they have had for one week. THIS IS A SHADY, DISHONEST CAR DEALERSHIP. UPDATE. My daughter traded in this hunk of junk and got 1K for it. She paid 10K. She had the car for one whole week, made 6 car payments, and received no assistance from the dealership. read more

This used car lot is just a few blocks off I-5 and easy to get to. The woman who helped me was exceedingly courteous and soft spoken. I called ahead to ask about a specific vehicle and when I arrived they had it running with the A/C on. But before I could test drive I had to wait for them to move cars, as it was blocked in. This is a pretty big lot for a small used car dealer and they have every square inch packed, so there's a good variety of vehicles. The first thing that happened when I got in the car was the armrest collapsed. Closer inspection revealed it had broken previously. A small hurdle for the saleswoman to overcome but she handled it pretty well. There was no pressure to buy and no weird gimmicks. There are several women working sales here, which may be more comfortable for women who are shopping alone and don't want to deal with pushy salesmen. Also, they habla espanol. read more

My boyfriend found a vehicle we were interested in online. It happens to be here at SS Motors. The guy that came out to help us, Rob, was very nice, laid back, not pushy. The lot attendant was very quick and helpful getting the keys and arranging the other vehicles so we could do a test drive. The car took a moment to start and the attendant got some gas in the car and off we went. The vehicle had some wear and tear, but what we expected for the year/price. Do to some possible issues with the exhaust and bald tires they came down on the price about $650. Another of the employees (Syrg is what I think they were calling him) said they could get us tires almost at cost with their sister company that does tires. We're considering taking them up on it. Everyone in the office was pretty nice. The lady doing the finances was quick and friendly, everything worked out and we were done. As we were finishing up the paperwork I saw them changing the oil for us. Not sure if it was to cover something up or just to be nice. They also washed down the vehicle and cleaned the tires on my personal vehicle that I had driven there. Once home we found a small oil leak and took it in to get looked out. A main oil seal had a leak. Great, cheap enough part, but the work will cost about $1000. My boyfriend called SS Motors and they said that they can get the work done there, for cheaper. Still not sure on the cost or the work yet but I will keep Yelppers up to date! Overall it was a fairly easy operation. I would definitely go with Rob, he doesn't seem slimy or anything. If you know what you want and you are educated on the value/cost, I think you can walk out of here fairly happy. read more

Was looking for a super solid SUV and hesitant to work with SS due to their size. Decided to check them out because of the yelp reviews for their business. The current reviews are accurate. The crew at SS was actually pretty friendly and not pushy. We ended up not being able to buy from SS (though we planned to if something hadn't opened up in Oregon) and they were super gracious even though they were actively working to find a SUV for us. I recommend a gal in particular to connect with there. Her name is Kris and she was really great. If you're in the market for a vehicle, I'd say check out SS. Their pretty convenient off I-5 and it will likely be worth your while. Next time we need a vehicle, Ill definitely check in with Kris. read more

In February 2019 I bought a Chrysler 300 Hemi C, two weeks later the transmission went out, they offered to pay half and that was all. After weeks of them having it they apparently "fixed the transmission" I got the car back, a day later it was overheating and smoking. Two weeks after this my whole engine blew!! They did nothing to help me fix this problem. Its now sitting in one of their shops because I refuse to pay on a car that I can't even use. I walked in knowing exactly what vehicle I was interested in, and within a few minutes a CarFax was provided and I was test driving it all by myself, then a few hours later the deal was closed and the car was mine. They upfront said, " we have the parts coming, they will be here tomorrow." I was trading in my only vehicle at the time ( a 98 chevy Z71 fully loaded pickup ) so I really wanted this Subaru WRX ( being my first. ) I drove it home, and awaited several days for this said part to show up. I had to drive it to and from work for the time being babying it the hole way. The said part was the stock air box filter and MAF SENSOR. I know now the vital roles this plays for any car or truck. I would have NEVER drove it for a test drive knowing it was missing a MAF SENSOR. I found a shop rag had been zip tied over the intake to the turbo. If that shop rag had been sucked into the motor the hole car would've been shot! Several un-returned phone calls and days later I take it in, it finaly got fixed. Serj's hole personality came into light playing phone tag and hearing enough of his BS. He claimed we could bring the car back, and he'd still keep my truck and we'd see him in court. I didn't have time for all this and since he fixed the car I shut up left the review and moved on... Not long later I realize another huge problem with the car... It had two different sized tires on the front then the back. Anyone who knows AWD knows this is a huge NO F'n DO! Fronts were 205/45/17 and rears 215/45/17. This causes all sorts of damage to the AWD system. So not only has the engine gone under harmful use without a vital sensor jerry rigged by SS Motors, but the drive train too! In the end Serj bought me new tires at a discount place and I kept my car, with all that uneeded damage. Paid 11.5k on a 03 WRX with 124k on it. While I bought a car from their other lot, people need to know about them! They sold me a car with a blown engine, transmission, and suspension. Oh, and the clutch went out in the first two weeks, so I took it back and all they offered me was a discount on a "new clutch". The reality was that they threw in a used clutch disk, and charged me $600. No new pressure plate, no new throw out bearing, and (obviously) no resurfacing of the flywheel. Oh, did I mention that they never replaced the pilot bearing either? Aside from that, the car had to be salvaged only the one year after buying it because everything broke at the same time. The cost for a new engine, transmission, and suspension cost over the value of the car, making it a complete salvage. I ate $10,000 on that one. There's a reason why so many people call this place "The Lemon Lot". read more

I was a bit wary of going to a small car lot but after hitting some of the big ones and having terrible salesman experiences I figured this place couldn't be any worse. I was very pleasantly surprised by the laid back guy at SS. The truck I bought did have some problems which I had to find out by testing everything. Once I listed the issues out the price came down to compensate. They also let me take the truck for a few hours so I could drop it off for a pre-purchase inspection at a shop near my house. What gives the 5th star is that my transaction was a bit weird and involved purchasing then refunding and giving a personal check due to my financing through Fidelity. I had to trust them and they came through with zero problems. I've been in the truck for 2 months and I'm happier every time I drive it, just took it to Mt. Rainier over Labor day. read more

I bought a 10,000.00 used vehicle from this dealership. As we drove off the lot we noticed a loud sound coming from the front tire as we turned our wheels...we called the dealership as soon as we could get our car in for a checkup. The Chevy dealership that was inspecting our car told us that there were numerous problem. Brakes, front lights not working, tire monitor sensor broken, shocks very worn and needing replacing, Ride Control sensor broken...But the biggest of our issues was the CRACKED BUSHINGS on our front right wheel. I called the owner, SA'ID, and I told him all of the issues, and he said those are all isues that are called "TLC" issues. I said I would pay for all of the TLC issues, but I will NOT pay for the bushings. Cracked bushings are very dangerous for my wife and 4 little children to be driving around in, and we should have been told those were cracked. He said "too bad.". I said, what if I pay for half the bill and you pay for half the bill. He said "I already gave you a good deal on the truck, I will not pay for even half the bill (which is going to be $175.00) unless your willing to buy another car from me. I believe this service is horrendous, and I am even willing to pay for half the service cost!!! These people are exactly WHY USED CAR DEALERSHIPS get the horrible horrible press they do... read more

He got back to be promptly and even offered to stay later to look at a vehicle. The other associate - Nick I believe was also easy to deal with. I ended up getting a great deal on a Subaru Forester I was looking at. My suggestion is to get a pre-purchase inspection on the vehicle. I would never again buy from, nor recommend this car lot to anyone. I purchased a 93 accord from SS Motors, the heater blower motor quit on the way home from the car lot. The cost to replace was approx. $300. I called the owner Serge, he said sorry you bought it as is. He did offer to buy it back for less than I paid but wouldn't say how much less. Other problems include engine leaking oil, CV joint shot approx. $200,bad vibration in reverse (broken rear motor mount?) est. cost $300, tires(had to put on a complete set), antenna broken, water in trunk. I have a feeling this is just the start of the issues with this car. I was a fool for not having the car checked out first, and a bigger fool for buying from these guys. Slimey. Bought a 2004 BMW 325i from these guys a couple months ago. John was the salesperson and told me that there might be some little things wrong with it. I test drove it, it ran good. He said the brakes were good, engine solid, blah, blah. So I understand that the car was used and it was "as is", but since we've owned it, we discovered that in addition to the brakes being shot (that was discovered 3 weeks after purchase despite them saying the brakes are good), the control arm bushing is bad, the oil pan is damaged and leaking oil significantly, the speedometer isn't working and may require a new computer because when Pep Boys repaired the speed sensor (after replacing two tires) it still didn't work. John said they could probably help cover the labor on the brakes. After a follow up call to discuss further, he reneged on that offer. I'm looking at least 3k in repair costs for this car and SS Motors is saying tough luck. I find it very hard to believe that SS Motors was unaware of any of these issues at the time of the sale. Buyer beware with these guys, they don't back their cars or their word. read more

In the beginning I thought wow, this place will be able to get things done and really help. Then all of a sudden nobody would return my calls, John the finance manager was never there when I stopped by, I went in filled out a loan application, dropped off proof of income and was told he would have John call me Saturday, no call, called on Monday and shocked to hear he had heard nothing about my credit app or me and that he would look around for it, my personal info just gone. I would hear things like John will be in at 10, at 11 when I would call again he would be at Lunch. Then I would stop by the next day, not there, then he went to the hospital one day because he hurt is foot but would be back at 3, called at 3, nope not in. Most inconsistent business I've ever seen. I called 3 times on a Friday to ask about my loan application, of course John wasn't there, a random person I've never talked to called me back, said I'll call and find out give me An hour, what a surprise no call back, ever to this day a week ago. I had to call the bank and find out information on my own. I'm shocked at the lack of customer service and dependability. Even if you aren't able to help me, Atleast give me the courtesy of a call back. Ridiculous. read more

I had never heard of this cars sales place until i happen to just stop by one day, at first i thought maybe they were alright for buying a car from, especially since they have a few ladies working there, and that made me feel more comfortable, but after getting a 97 Ford Explorer from S & S Motors here is what happend to me.... 1st i test drove it and it drove fine, but the reverse, drive, and neutral were off a bit, so i told them, and the guy Serge fixed it, then after signing the finance papers in which the truck was $2900, and i had given them $2000 down, i leave on my way with the Ford Explorer, get on the freeway , as im driving i notice the speedometer doesn't seem to be working right all of a sudden, its works for a little while, then stops working, and it doesnt seem to want to go over 50 miles per hr now. then when i get home, i call & speak to Serge, he says they will fix it. so i was gonna bring it back to them in just 2 days, since i had to go to work still, so went to work on a Mon, and then Tues morning im on my way to work, the truck cuts off on me while i'm driving, it wouldn't crank back up at all, had to run fast to a bus stop to get to work, got to work late. i called S & S Motors back and told them what happend, Serge told me that they are not gonna pay for repairs on the truck & that i would need to pay for it and he will do tha work on it for free, he also said that i would have to get the truck towed back to them..i told him i will not pay for the repairs on a vehicle that had issues when i bought it and that they need to tow the truck back, so we went back & forth about this, finally Serge agrees to split the cost on repairs and tow the car after i mentioned that there's a such thing as a lemon law under 30 days, and i've only had the truck for a few days, i had also taken the truck to Auto Zone and had them run a check on the Alternator & battery, and the guy tells me that the Allternator is bad, so Serge had the truck towed back, puts in a new alternator, gives the truck back to me..now this truck had cut off on me twice before they towed it back & put a new alternator in , so anyway they give me back the truck, and then 2 days later i go get in the truck to crank it up, and i cant get it to crank up at all once again! so i call & talk with Sa'id and he starts to talk to me in a very nasty voice saying that there is nothing wrong with the truck and that they will not pay to have it towed back again, that i need to pay, he was very rude on the phone with me, then they agreed to give me my $ back if i have the truck towed back to them, i told them no i will not do that since this truck had problems when i bought it. i ended up putting the truck in neutral letting it roll down to a flatter level in the parking lot and thats when the stupid truck finally cranked up..so i drove the stupid truck back to S & S Motors, when i get there, Sa'id is very rude to me the whole time, then writes me a check for $1900 knocking off $100 for towing the dumb truck back the one time. he tells me to sue him if i want my other $100 and he said all this to me in front of other customers who were there trying to buy a car...and this is what happend to me at S & S Motors...so if i were any of you who are reading this, i would NOT buy a car from this place, and i will NEVER go back there again, EVER. Serge is a very mean, rude man, and Sa'id is no better than him..they are very MESSY people, they do not know how to talk to customers, if anyone has bought a car from here and had a good experience with these two men, then its only because u just happen to luck up and get a decent car, and they were nice to you only because the car you bought was ok, but if you get one with problems & they dont tell you about it and you find out after the fact, they will do you the same way they did me...so i only gave them a one star rating on here, cause there's no option of zero rating, cause they really dont even derserve a rating at all. read more

11:00am These folks are really friendly and helpful until they have your money in hand. My temporary plates for my car expire today. When I called yesterday to make sure my plates and paperwork were on their way I was spoken down to and told that the title had not been transferred and that they would call me back that day when it was done. I received no call back yesterday. When I called in irate that I'd had to take a day off work to deal with something that I'd already paid for and that there was no indication was moving forward they hung up on me. I then had to drive there and confront them in person to move the transaction forward. As of now I don't have my license plates, they clearly never had the title of the car transferred over from the person they bought it from, and with what I've seen so far I'm going to have to drive there again before they close and badger them into finishing their job. 4:00pm Never received a call so I checked in and they had my plates and paperwork in, just hadn't called. When I told the person I was dealing with that I'd be posting about my experience online he followed me out to my car and shouted profanities at me until I was off their property. I purchased a car from a dealer because I didn't want a hassle after the fact, I just wanted to pay my money and go. This has been a far worse experience than buying a car off Craigslist has ever been. Do not shop at SS Motors, they are not honest people. read more

Another day, another horrifying surprise. I purchased my used SUV ten months ago and since then it has been one thing after another Of course, some of this is inevitable when buying a used vehicle. It's only been in the shop twice, so for that I should be pleased. However, some of the things I've found never should have been there in the first place. My truck came with a broken glove compartment the dealership promised to fix. Two return visits, several phone calls and nearly a year later and the glove box is still broken. Apparently, before selling someone replaced the truck's regular battery with one too small. When I purchased the vehicle, it smelled like a rotting carcass. I brought it home to clean and proceeded to unveil one vomit-inducing oversight after another. It still continues to this day. I don't know who the mental defective was who supposedly detailed this vehicle, but they should be fired immediately. Obviously the previous owner had several children as I found congealed food and beverage matter, paint in various bright hues, and pieces of food and hair stuck in the crevices between and under the seats. I suppose it serves me right for not paying close enough attention upon initial inspection. Someone could have contracted MRSA from the seat belts in the back, which were handily stored inside the folded up seat at the time of the test drive. Clever place to stash something gross you don't want your customer to find. I suppose next time, when I'm at some other dealership I'll remember to take the seats completely apart and conduct a Cheerio-and-spilled-juice check before I buy. This place is horrible!!! The owner is a TWAT! He says one thing and then does another. We are from a different state and called because we wanted to buy a vehicle from them. Talked to Jimmy, he said that all we needed to do was put a $500 deposit down to hold the truck, and as long as everything goes through then they would ship the car down. This was a Saturday so banks were not open (we were already finance through our bank) We asked Jimmy that if for some reason the bank does not approve their dealership, will we get our money back, he said absolutely. Well when Monday came around are bank said since they are not an authorized dealership then they wouldn't approve financing. We called and talked with John, he said that we could try Capital one, we applied for a loan via capital one, go figure, they would not fiancee ss motors either. hmmm I am seeing a trend here. Called and talked with the manager Sieed, explained that we tried everything in our power to get this truck, but it just can not happen. We asked for our money back and after a full run around he agreed to refund us, after a few days of not seeing it refunded we called back and Jimmy said that Sieed (the owner) changed his mind and wasn't going to refund us, we put up a huge stink about it, and then he said he would refund us $300, since someone else could have bought the truck, he didn't want to give us all of the money! Bullcrap!!!! We did not agree with this and neither did the sales people that was trying to help us, but I guess Sieed is a Arsehole and nobody wants to stand up to him. I had been looking for a car for 4 months by the time I test drove a Subaru SS Motors had on their lot, so I was pretty familiar with the car buying game. The more I read these reviews, the more I realized that these horribly infuriated people just didn't do their research. Don't EVER buy a used car before you bring it to the mechanic!!! If you then drive it off the lot and it breaks down on you, that's your fault for not being careful enough. SS Motors provides everyone with free carfax (you can see it on their website- don't ever trust one on paper, because that can be altered). They were very helpful, willing to negotiate on the price, and even helped me get my car home since I had driven there alone. Again, and this goes for every dealership, just do your research and you'll be fine. It costs $100 max to get a mechanic to look it over completely, and that's totally worth it to make sure you're buying a good car. Also, don't accept their promises to fix any problems after you buy the car.... make them do it before, get it in writing, or get an estimate and ask them to lower the price. Bottom line, they were very nice and I am very happy with my Subaru, which is in amazing condition for being 13 years old. read more

BEST DEALERSHIP IVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE!! I'm 26 i have a 7 year old daughter dont have a lot of money at all and need reliability. With that being said. 3 months later im A GENUINE FULLY IMPRESSED LEASER! I bought a Civic Del Sol from them at an extremely low price. In just about mint condition the car is absolutely gorgeous and i get compliments litterally several times a day day. all of there cars are VERY NICE I've gone by just to check out their cars because i know there quality.. you want to hear about reliability??? I literally drove away with it and a month later got an oil change and drove it straight to arizona and all the way back.. without. a single. issue. My mom even had a blast riding around in arizona in a highly customized lowered convertable in the sun. Every piece of customization in the car was installed at some point correctly and safely and with only high end pieces i found out way down the road. Not only that.. They worked with me so well on my payments UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE!!! It feels more like a close friendship than being a leaser with these guys. Mostly just Beautiful machines that they buy and and completly straighten up internally mechanically and cosmetically. There success is going to be endless the way they do business... HONEST FAIR Hassle free and humble people that really just sit back and help people with one of the biggest necessities a person will need in their life. They're happy, your happy. and its kind of an akward dually satisfactory feeling when you go in there :) I've driven quite a few of their cars. i also do work on cars myself so i know what issues are common and hidable and stuff. But they dont do that. They care greatly about their impression and reputation. They gave me extra low insurance and a warranty for free as well as no interest.. Cant ask for more than that when trying to go through the hassle of leasing a car from a lot. I wont let anyone i know get a vehicle from any other lot. All of my friends and family see my car and know they want something so impressive for so fair with such trustworthy people. Best feeling ever. I'm excited to drop by in 2 weeks and check out their newest inventory and hang out for a bit :) I'm a Confident Happy Traveler.. and there working with me so well with my income situations and any bumps in the road. I even got it towed once by accident and the owner himself within 20 minutes met me and got it out of impound for me without a question. They're honest generous people. read more
