I have been with this firm for last 6+ years. They started out great but their service seems to get worse every year. This year, I have waited for more than a month for my accountant to open up his schedule to help me file the taxes. Taking extended vacations very often seems to be a new norm here. Have been using them since 2011 and every time they have been very helpful including the one time I received an IRS letter in the mail. Since this had never happened to me before I was freaking out! Immediately I called them for assistance and they provided me with the next steps towards resolving the issue. I sent the tax office all the requested documents and they sent them to the IRS on my behalf. The issue was resolved and I didn't have to pay the IRS any of the money they had originally requested of me. I imagine that all the tax preparers at Sharma Tax are good at what they do, but I usually go to Suchin (Sunny), Rishi or Sonia Sharma. They are really nice and answered all my questions no matter how silly I thought they were. read more

We have been a long standing customer with Sharma Tax and I must say, they are not very enthusiastic about working on getting a refund or keeping the customer happy. My husband and I have moved all over the nation and no matter where we are filing the Tax from, we used to rely on these guys and I can say, the service was neither exceptional nor bad. But Last year, we filed the tax from the state of NJ where as the work location was in Philly. As per the Tri-State law, our employer double charged us with Tax. And, when we filed the Tax returns through Sharma Tax, they did nothing to get our refund. Instead, an IRS officer called us saying we have paid more towards the tax and suggested to work with our Tax attorney to apply for a refund. This is where Shrama Tax had a role to play. Instead, they said they can't help us and asked to go else where. Initially, they stalled us with we-are-working-on-it kind of thing and later, raised their arms up! Saying Sorry. Its been months now and we have still not got our refund. And we are in touch with different Tax attorneys hoping to get this fixed. Sharma Tax collects a decent amount for filing your tax (around $350-$450) and for the fees they charge, they don't want to take responsibility or help in any way they can. They may be doing taxes properly however the wait is long but the serious concern was the handling of customers by a specific tax accountant. Pathetic would be very polite way of describing his attitude however it may be limited to few accountants and not all. No one can tolerate the accountant we had to deal with for more than few minutes. He literally threw us out after 5 minutes or so on the pretext that he has to take more customers, never answered any question, did whatever he felt like, did not even tell us if he is filling in the numbers or not, told us that we are wasting their time, mocked and ridiculed us on multiple occasions for no reason. read more

I filed my amendment taxes for past 3 years and I got 3 different letters from IRS saying that I have been over paid. When I informed the same to associated Sharma Tax, they never replied back to me. It looks like they just want to charge huge price for tax filing and will leave you alone when IRS contacts you because of their filing behalf of you. read more

If you expect professionalism and respect for your time and money, this is NOT the place you wanted to be. I have been a long time customer, almost 5 years but the they have treated me last time make me ashamed of being their customer. They basically lie, make you wait always for more than an hour. We assume we are getting late because early appointments are getting late, but the truth is these guys sneaks in their corporate clients in between without informing regular customer. This time I was watching closely and for them red handed. Their reaction was totally unprofessional and unethical. It was such a shame to be there and spend my money and time for their worthless service. I DO NOT recommend them. You definitely get a better service for a cheaper price elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately there is no way to rate negative so rating 1. I got my 2015 returns filed by them and now experiencing hell. Few clients already told the truth in reviews that these guys are just trying to extract max $$ from you by convincing that they can give you max returns. Staff members try to maximize returns aggressively and which results in tax audits. And if unfortunately your returns gets audited or you receive any notice, they will shamelessly wash their hands off, without any support. I ended up having a notice from FTB CA owing $8200 and still waiting for any kind of help from these guys. I will NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

In all my years I have never experienced such lack of customer service for one of the most important things you have to do, I called for 4 days to the ext. given left messages no reply called on the last day to file before 10/17 and was brushed of as if this was not important was very dismissive & condescending...I called back asked for owner or supervisor I still have not had a call back ..in retrospect I feel blessed they upset not getting my return in, probably the most depressing place I have been to waiting in the lobby forever and the person I was sent to arrogant and dismissive did not do my taxes the first time I went in..so do yourself a favor find a professional that will spend time with you to maximize your possibilities your time is important but not to them the place was like DMV I have been treated better at a drive thru, they operate like a fast food place my friend went he spent $300 for 20 min bet that was some thought put in to that return I am truly surprised I wished I had looked on Yelp first.The negative ones really do not describe how awful they are read more
