They use a secure drop off site to upload all your documents and download your returns. They are prompt, have lots of availability for appointments, and offer fast turn around. This year, I had to wait until April to get started because of some issues getting some of the documents that we needed. We were still able to go online and get everything taken care of within 3 days! Since we had used them before we skipped the appointment and told them to just send us an email with any questions. I've been coming here to SBT for years, a good decade at least. I've had nothing but great service, by forthcoming people, who are nothing but straight shooters, and with absolute integrity. I am writing this review because I happened upon a particular yelp review to sbt that my daughter brought to me and it made no sense. It was a negative review from a year ago. How does a company that makes money filing taxes, managed to file thousands upon thousands of filings yearly, but fails to file this one particular clients over a period of six months, and according to her, after constant reminders? Even getting an extension on the deadline! It makes no sense. They can file everybody else else's, but yours? Cmon. Now, I don't know this person, and I do not claim to be familiar with the scenario, there may or may not have been missing numbers or documentations to numbers ... but really, no tax office SHOULD file frivolously and in finality create subsequent unnecessary interactions. But a lot of offices do just file, collect, and if Sh!t happens, that's on you. I'm older, I have a bad memory, I own a lot and I lose a lot and I have benefits I am unaware of. Some years, I lose benefits because of some new rules or other. Sbt always makes sure I get what is mine, what I deserve, and every so often, because investments are great, I gotta pay. I hired Iman, accountant at SBT to complete my personal and business taxes which he FAILED to do. Initially, he was helpful and seemed knowledgeable. Then it was false promises, missed deadlines, unprofessional attitude, and endless excuses for not completing my taxes. I hired them in Feb. 2024 and shortly after I was told my taxes were ready. I went in to pick them up and dropped off a check for $1200. Then Iman said he needed to review the taxes over one more time before filing them. He missed the first IRS deadline and I agreed to the extension to give him more time. Weeks passed and no final copy of my taxes and no update. I had to contact Iman several times to get a status because he would say he'd have them ready on a certain day, tomorrow, Monday, etc. No follow through, and when I did get a hold of him on the phone, he was rude and unprofessional. He made excuses to not assist me, oh he's not at his computer, he doesn't remember where he left off on my taxes, or the last time he announced rudely that I was interrupting his lunch before hanging up. Next I got an email from Iman on a passive aggressive power trip stating he would not be finishing my taxes. It was 2 weeks before the IRS late filing which wasn't enough time to hire another accountant to start all over. Due to the positive reviews on yelp, I tried calling the owner Nicole to get re-assigned to another accountant but seems she didn't want to get involved. The lack of Integrity and commitment to the client is disappointing, especially because not meeting an IRS deadline can result in penalties to the client. At the end of the FIASCO with SBT, I lost six months of my time and energy with no taxes to file. All I got was the runaround for a service I fully paid for. I had to take the initiative to call and remind them to finish my taxes. Be Cautious in entrusting them with your finances and handing over a check before they are 100% completed with the work. I would not have paid the entire amount had I know the taxes were not completed or being released to me EVER. read more

I made the mistake of incorporating through another CPA (Honest Tax Solutions, the irony) because of the lower cost only to realize there was a reason for that. They did the bare minimum, nickel and diming me for every piece of advice. Iman came to save the day by helping me figure out the missing components and be more thorough every step of the way, showing me what to do to cover what I missed with the other CPA. Their fees aren't much higher, but you will get a much more thorough service incorporating with them! He even helped me figure out my payroll errors even though I was already signed up with another company and not signed up with them.
