I paid him $11,000 for the solitaire and $5,800 for the custom made ring setting. The engagement I bought it for did not work out and my ex was nice enough to give it back to me. Since trying to recover my investment, I haven't been able to find anyone that will give me even $5,000 for it. It is an EGL stone that he gave me paperwork for that values it at $18,000 and he had the ring appraised before he handed it over to me which valued it at $23,000. I asked Gus to buy the ring back for just the cost of the stone since the ring was a service he provided and I understand I can't ask for that back. He refused everything reasonable which he would make money twice off me with that one ring. This tells me he either doesn't know jewelry values correctly or he knows he did something dishonest. Gus effectively cheated me out of over $10,000.

I was referred to Gus by a friend and had been taking my jewelry there for repairs for about 2…read moreyears. Initially everything was great...great turnaround....great work...etc., until recently. I took my engagement ring in to be repaired for a loose stone. After picking it up and wearing it home I noticed that the loose stone had fallen out again...like within hours of picking it up. I quickly called Gus and arranged to take it back to have it repaired. The problem came when the stone fell out again after being repaired the second time. After talking about the problem I was informed that I would have to get a new ring because my ring was beyond repair. At which point I took my ring to get a second opinion and was informed by two separate jewelers that the previous jeweler (Lazaro) had used adhesive/glue on the stones to get them to stay in. The adhesive/glue had begun to spread throughout the setting thus causing more damage. I'm not sure if Gus switched repair personnel but the fact that they would use glue on my ring instead of just telling me they could not repair it is pretty astonishing and disheartening. I was able to take my ring to be repaired by another jeweler and am very happy.

I always go into a business with the best of hope that the professionals will treat my car like it belongs to a vip client. I wanted to have the roof and a-pillars of the car vinyl wrapped in gloss black. I discussed over text and sent pictures of what I wanted and was quoted $275. I had a 10am appointment at the shop about 30 minutes away from where I live. I went in and was shown the type of vinyl that would be used and Lilly pulled my quote up on the computer complete with the pictures that I sent. The first warning sign of this was that the quote jumped from $275 to $450 after I confirmed with them what I was getting wrapped on the car while doing the walk through at the car. I figured fine we're here, they're professionals, and will have it done right. After all, it is extra material even though I asked for a quote the day before and sent pictures. Next warning sign was that it was going to take 4 to 5 hours to get this done. No worries. We'll just hang out and do some shopping in the area and get lunch somewhere. Still seemed like an extremely long time to do this small of an area, but again these are professionals and maybe they wanted enough time to make sure the vinyl cured and was done right. We got back to the shop around 230 and went to check on the progress but it was going to be about another hour to do the detailing but that wasn't about cleaning the car because it was a mess on the outside. Nothing was wiped off or cleaned. Once the guy was done, we saw some imperfections in the vinyl that we were told would level out. Some smudges that seemed to be able to be removed with some cleaning solution. The worst at first glance was a scratch from an exacto knife on the trunk. The same exacto knife that was left on the windshield wiper incidentally which I pointed out to them. Willing to overlook all of this, I paid and left. We got up the next day after letting the car sit in the garage untouched overnight only to find that there were many dents in the roof as if the person was putting heavy pressure on it or some things fell on the roof. We didn't see them in the sun of the previous afternoon at the shop. Of course we called immediately after seeing this as well as the vinyl lifting and bubbling in many areas and were first asked did the car get left in the rain and then told to come back. Back at the shop, they agreed that the roof dents on the brand new car and the scratch was their fault and they would file a claim. They wanted to repair it but we just wanted it removed completely and a refund. Then it became clear that this vinyl person is a contractor for their business not an actual employee. This might be normal to outsource, but we were 'asked' to file a claim through the contractor's insurance, not the company that I paid, to expedite getting it fixed. Then the owner, after agreeing to refund us and remove the vinyl altogether said that her lawyer husband told her not to touch the car, for fear of further damage I imagine. After waiting 45 minutes, I eventually got the refund check but we were stuck with this shoddy wrap and dents in the roof. Thankfully it's in the shop right now getting repaired through insurance, but everyone keeps wondering how this even happened to the roof. Lilly seemed nice enough but if a customer is not satisfied and there is clear damage, there should be no discussions or excuses. Don't try to con me, be condescending, or smooth things over with fake excitement knowing that your guy did a terrible job. We didn't really get an apology at all just, oh it's not going to be perfect. When I pay that kind of money it better be what I expect and definitely without any damage.
