I was in the area and looked for the closest coffee shop around me. From the outside I could see a good amount of people in there which is a good sign. The store was very, very clean. The staff was fine. I ordered a blue-salt maple latte. It was good but I didn't taste the salt. It was around 7.25 which is normal for coffee nowadays, sadly, what with the tariffs and coffee bean prices inflating. My only two gripes were the air conditioning was on blast and it was so cold I had to leave before finishing my drink. It was a kinda chilly morning, too so I am not sure why it was so cold in there. Also, oat milk is an extra 1.00 coconut milk is 0.75 Almond milk is 1.25 Oat milk, coconut and almond aren't some rare exceptions that take grueling effort to acquire like it was 10 years ago. It's standard now. Charging people who are lactose intolerant a whole dollar extra isn't cool.

Came for the pumpkin bagel and it was a solid 3.5/5 but there are no half stars on yelp. The bagel itself was a very dense and the cream cheese was an odd flavor on its own, but together they work. The cafe itself is clean and the wait was short. Staff worked quickly and street parking was easy

I have to say that this is probably one of my favorite coffee shops! We went because we wanted to try the pumpkin spice latte and the actual pumpkin and this is the only place in San Diego that did it. So we went the last weekend that they were doing it and their drinks were amazing. We also got a golden chai and honestly, I like that one better than the pumpkin spice latte it had turmeric in it, and the flavors were perfect. We ended up going super early in the morning because their pumpkin bagel sold out very quickly, and it also came with a pumpkin spice cream cheese. The top of the bagel was actually a white chocolate covered pretzel that they died green and that was fun to eat! Then we also got a bacon and egg empanada and honestly, that was my favorite thing out of all the stuff we tried, including the drinks. The drinks were amazing, the bagel was good, but that empanada was delicious. When I tell you, it was like a buttery flaky biscuit and it came with us like chimichurri sauce. Literally loved it! If you debating coming to this coffee shop, just go. Literally just go. I felt like I was in the scene of One Tree Hill or like Gilmore Girls. A staple coffee shop since they opened their doors, S3 provides a lovely cafe aesthetic and even more beautiful and delicious drinks to compliment the space! Stopped in because I heard about their Not Your Basic Pumpkin Spice Latte so I had to come try it. Presentation was top notch (I mean, who doesn't want to enjoy a PSL in a mini pumpkin?!) and the drink was delicious! If their fall presentation is like this, I hope they have something exciting for the winter!

The coffee shop look is there but the customer service not so much. We came in about 3PM I looked at their menu on the website and decided on a drink I then go inside and it looks like they have their fall menu up? None of the fall drinks caught my attention. When I looked up from looking at the counter menu I found a blonde guy standing there I said hi and he took our order. He wasn't the most welcoming. My friend ended up getting a drink but I did not. My friends drink was made and the drink wasn't announced so by the time we looked back we saw the drink was already on the counter for who knows how long. Pros Lots of seating Cons Dirty tables Not so exciting menu Customer Service needs improvement Customer service is major to keep customers wanting to keep coming and feel welcomed and continue to support your business.

I found this place because they had received a 100% from the health department. Silly reason to try them, but I can respect when a rare 100% is handed out. It's now my go-to spot. The place is always spotless, the baristas are ALWAYS so friendly, and I really love their cold brew ... and the Vietnamese cold brew as a special treat. The location is easy to miss but I suggest not missing it next time you're close.

Such a cute cafe to grab and drink and yap with friends! I had their pumpkin bagel which comes toasted with a pumpkin cream cheese. The bagel itself was a plain bagel but it paired nicely with the slightly sweet cream cheese. I also had a pineapple mango iced tea that was refreshing and not too sweet :)

I was super sad when Koffee left us but this is a great replacement. The vibes are cute, the small food menu is rather tasty and the coffee is yummy. If I had to make any comments to the con side I was say their specialty drinks lean sweet but the baristas are aware and the ones that I have encountered make suggestions on how to tone that down while still making the drinks super yummy

I was pleasantly surprised there's an S3 located up in Escondido after loving the drinks at the Mission Valley location. Pros: -Parking was easy to find on a Saturday morning even though it's street parking. -The location has a lot of seating to get work done. -My order came out quickly (strawberry matcha latte with oat milk) and I noticed the service was quick for all of the drinks that came in after me. -The menu looks fun and my drink was solid. Nothing remarkable. -Looks like they have good options for pastries. Cons: -The upcharge for oat milk is $1. For a $7.50 drink plus another dollar, that's quite costly but that's most drinks nowadays. When I asked what kind of matcha they used because at that price, you would hope they used a high grade, they said ceremonial would cost even more. -There is no AC. It was hot in there and felt stuffy. -I don't know why there was glitter on my strawberries. Still happy S3 is here but only when I'm willing to spend more for an aesthetic drink in a hotter location.

Words can't describe how ecstatic I am that S3 is in Esco nearby me now. The vibes are always immaculate, their seasonal drinks are always heavenly (their year round standing menu is also iconic) and even the music is always on point. It's my fave place to work and have coffee meetups with friends. It's seriously such a wholesome place. The Iced Winter Tiramisu latte was a part of their Winter'24 menu and it was delectable. A friend of mine ordered the Winter brûlée latte which also was like sipping dessert--absolute bliss! Although I wish they could keep their Winter menu year round, I look forward to their upcoming seasonal drink changes. The baristas here are always such sweethearts and give the best recommendations.

came here on nye with my run club and thought the place was super cute! drinks came out readily quickly and the service was great, she answered all of my questions! i got the vietnamese coffee with no condensed milk and wished that it was the same price as the plain cold brew but it wasn't :( i did get a holiday matcha drink that was sweet and tasty but i wish the matcha quality was better and more present. i got some empanadas on the way out and they were very tasty! 5.5 per is a little steep but it came with chimichurri

S3 COFFEE, ESCONDIDO. Came in on a Sunday around noon and it was poppin' and full of positive vibes. I love the half-moon service area and all the seating options. Obsessed with the holiday tree and festive decor, plus super cute seasonal menu offerings (gingerbread latte comes with little gingerbread person cookie on top)! I went with one of their regular menu items and am so glad I did because it hit the spot! Their beautiful and uplifting iced vanilla lavender latte was exactly what I needed to get me through my cheerful open house in Vista. It had just the right amount of sweetness and the flavor blend was even better than I expected. Plus, the bits of lavender sprinkled on top was so pretty and delightful. The service was welcoming and efficient and the price was fair. Parking is either on Grand or walk around the corner to the alley there are a few designated spots for S3. So grateful for S3 Coffee and I will be back!

The cafe was cute and service was nice. The coffee was a total disappointment. I could not consume even 25% of it. It tasted like watered down coffee when it should have been very bold. The color alone had me doubting the taste and boy was I correct. My friend and I were so sad because we were really wanting so great tasting coffee to start our day. We don't try anything else so I can't say anything besides our coffee was not great.

I've always had excellent service at S3 Coffee Bar, but today I was blown-out-of-the-water-IMPRESSED. I had accidentally scheduled a 1pm coffee date with a friend, without knowing they closed at that time, I called frantically seeing if I could place an order (I was set to arrive at 12:57pm). Thankfully, Rob, from the kindness of his heart took my order, despite it not being customary for them to do that! I'M OBSESSED WITH THEIR CHAI LATTES and I was ecstatic to know that I was well taken care of. Please remind me to give a FAT tip next time. Came here to work out of and the vibe is great. The music isn't too loud. The AC is so nice since it's hot outside. And the coffee and tea is great! I got the ceremonial matcha this time and it was great. The employee talked to me about how it has more antioxidants than the regular matcha and that was so kind of them. Cute newer coffee/tea place on Grand Avenue! It is quiet inside, so beautiful and clean, and a perfect place to relax, work, or have a photo opp! They have beautiful mid-century modern tables, chairs, and couches inside, as well as merch such as tote bags and shirts. I met the owner today and she is such a sweet human! POC owned, LGBT friendly. There are no specific wheelchair accessible parking spots outside, just regular street parking, and no ramp in front to get to the building, other than at nearby intersections. read more

Super cute pumpkin lattes! I usually don't like PSL, but this was perfect, not an overwhelming fake pumpkin taste. Husband got the banana bread and said it was great. We did walk by it at first since we didn't see any outside signage so it was a little tricky to find but once we pulled it up on Google maps we had no problem. read more

I had the Lavender London Fog Iced Latte. Very good! My friend had the Iced Mexican mocha which she also highly recommended. The baristas are very nice and friendly. The coffee shop itself is very cute and modern. I highly recommend checking it out. read more

I came all the way from Long Beach to try this place out for Halloweekend. The place was super busy and charming. Located across from a taco spot There was no parking easily available we had to park in the tacos places parking. I came by here to pick up a coffee for the drive up to LA, ordering was very quick. I grabbed an iced latte with sugar free syrup, the syrup was an additional 50 cents but I feel like that's pretty typical now. I also ordered an everything bagel which came warmed up with two small containers of cream cheese. My coffee was also ready very quickly but it was quite empty since it was early. There is ample seating inside but I chose to sit on the small blue tables outside to enjoy the sun. Loved the music selection they had going, super cute coffee shop! read more

Was in San Diego for work and wanted to avoid the typical Starbucks scene, so I stopped by this coffee shop to work for a bit. So glad I did! Their Mexican Mocha is amazing--rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, with a variety of seating options, from tables to sofas, making it a great spot to settle in and relax. They offer a nice selection of coffee and teas, but I'd especially recommend the Mexican Mocha. Their pastries are also delicious and served warm, a great complement to the drinks. The shop is very spacious, which is a plus, but one drawback is the lack of outlets--only one or two, and they're pretty hidden. Definitely come with a fully charged laptop if you plan to work here. I'd suggest the shop add more outlets to make it even more work-friendly, given how big and spacious it is. Overall, I'd highly recommend stopping by here if you're looking for great coffee and a chill vibe! read more

Never coming here ever again I've never had an issue getting a hot chai with their puree so I tried to order both strawberry chai hot and after being told no I tried to order a strawberry hot matcha and they said they will not make any of those drinks hot because the purse will curdle then for the matcha said the same thing even though it's powder they said so absurd. I've worked at a coffee shop for many years and I've never heard of someone refusing to make a drink and then stating oh it's gonna curdle. This place is ridiculous. I love this place. It's so cute and cozy. I'm so glad they opened one in north county. I don't have to drive so far now to get my vanilla lavender latte from them. That's usually my go to. This time around I wanted to try their strawberry espresso drink. I believe called Strawberry Dream? Has condensed milk in it too. It's was so delicious! We also ordered a strawberry matcha which was yummy!! Good matcha flavor! This was about our second or third time we've been and each time everyone has been so nice and welcoming. Always up for a lil chit chat. There's also plenty of seating and a lot of warm light. It's great. My only only wish is that they had outlets available. It's hurts me that I can't come here to get my work done while drinking 3 or 4 lattes. But I digress. I will still come back here because the items are quality. read more

I just recently heard about this coffee. Was eager to try it. I finally came in today. I walked in and there was only 2 set of couples. As I got to the counter it was confusing as were to order. I did look lost. Once I approach the counter. The barista said to me in a soft voice that if I was ready. For me it was hard to hear her since the music was kind of loud and I can hear the people conversations. I then started looking at the menu and kind of got an idea of what to get. So the barista kind of comes over and I told her I was ready. I order my drink. Honey rose latte with oatmilk. She then gave me a device. Mind you she never explain to me how their system works or was not friendly at all. I went to sit a table and then the device started to vibrate. I went to the counter again and saw my drink. She wasn't even looking at me when I picked it up. I grabbed my coffee and said thanks. The only person that said bye was the lady next to the counter. I assume she is the owner. Im leaving a one star review because they barista wasn't even friendly or welcoming. She never smiled or even try to help me. And also when I picked up my drink she gave me her back. This place needs to train her about customer service. 2nd off all. The drink I got didn't even taste like coffee to me. I just tasted somewhat rose and honey flavor. Im thinking if she even put coffee at all. It did come with a lot of foam and cup felt empty like half way full. I usually go to small business to try to support and recommend if I like everything. One of the most rad coffee bars in Esco! Located off of one Escondido's hot spots on Grand Avenue. Whether you're in the mood for tea, iced coffee or a chocolate chip banana loaf slice. This is the spot! The vibe is very Earthy and elegant, and the staff is amazing too! Shout out to the barista Robbie for making the most delicious drinks I've had in a while! What an amazing little gem in downtown Esco! The remodel is so cute and they actually have some options for cozy seating and table so if you want to work you can. The bar you order at is center and adorable, love the style of this place. The barista was so kind and informative when chatting about their drink options. The owner came out and introduced herself. Lately I have been asking friends to meet me here as I love supporting independently-owned businesses that support our local community. And while I like S3's ambiance and friendly service, my latest order of a standard mocha did not meet expectations. It was chocolatey but it lacked coffee flavor. Perhaps I've been off fancy drinks far too long such that sweet drinks are now underwhelming or perhaps S3 should reconsider the type of bean they're using? The aesthetics of this cafe was so modern and pretty! Whole place looked very cleanly as well. You walk right in and see the barista bar, very inviting. There's a lot of variety on their menu. I ordered the Dirty Chai with Oat milk, which had a good balance of espresso and chai flavor. They give you a pager to let you know when your drink is ready which is nice and new. Didn't wait too long for my drink either. Overall a good experience! read more

I just went here to get an iced vanilla latte and my coffee was SOUR AND NASTY! My boyfriend took a sip of my coffee and almost gagged because it tasted weird. Their coffee is not good and the espresso clearly is not pulled well. The coffee was so bad I had two sips and threw it away, what a waste of money! read more

They don't have much food but have some pastries that are good! Their coffee is really good although I do get it half sweet because I don't like mentally sweet! My husband is obsessed with their chai lattes- he gets it hot and also half sweet! I would say their ambiance is good for a short study session or coffee chat. Their service is quick but also personalized. The staff is friendly and always willing to help if your coffee isn't right even with recommendations! read more

This is their 2nd location. I liked their teas from the San Diego location awhile back so decided to come in here. Looked really pretty and perfect for work or studying. The coffee was not the best. I tried the Vietnamese Cold Brew and the Honey Rose Latte. It was okay, the syrups are store brands so tastes like any other. The chocolate banana bread however was delicious. Plenty of other coffee shops in Escondido with home-made syrups and non-burnt tasting espresso. read more

I was so excited to see a new location for S3! They have amazing drinks and food, with a great vibe and environment. Perfect for studying and doing work or for just relaxing in a great cafe. They have fast wifi and a big clean bathroom. The Vietnamese cold brew is strong and not too sweet! The drip coffee is amazing with bold flavors and they roast their own beans. It was more than enough for the two of us. The soft serve was incredibly creamy and looked beautiful. I realized I'm just not a huge fan of matcha's earthy flavor, but that's completely personal preference. The ube side, on the other hand, was delicious, and I'd definitely order that again. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in and would come back to try more of the menu.

The stracciatella featured a straightforward milk base studded with chocolate shards. While this was a very traditional interpretation without unnecessary additions, the ice cream lacked the richness and depth needed to carry such a simple flavor profile. The chocolate provided texture, but the base itself felt flat. The sour cream and brown sugar ended up being my favorite of the three, largely because the brown sugar was actually distinguishable. The sour cream contributed an unusual tanginess that made the flavor more interesting, though the balance was inconsistent. Some bites highlighted the warm sweetness of the brown sugar, while others tasted predominantly of sour cream, creating a combination that occasionally felt at odds with itself. I appreciated that the small size included two flavors, and the employee serving me was generous with the scoops. Still, this ended up being a fairly forgettable stop. Those who enjoy gelato with bold, inventive, or highly concentrated flavors may find the offerings here a bit too restrained.
