Found a new favorite spot! Blue Mug Cafe is a total hidden gem. Fast service and great vibes. It's popular and stays busy, but the team here moves fast. I tried Steph's Special (Americano + Vanilla Bean Powder) both ways hot and iced. The iced version with whipped cream is 10/10. The decor is so cute, with plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. I love that they support the community with local artwork for sale and a Little Free Library (take a book share a book) in the corner. I also saw they have a fruit series. Stopped in because of the good reviews for a quick iced coffee in the middle of the day. The wait wasn't long, and there's a bulletin board you can see local postings. The place isn't huge, but they make good use of the space and have lots of seating (and wifi) if you want to sit and do work for a while. We got the Banana kona ice blended, which was absolutely delicious, and iced vanilla latte, which was solid and very tasty. Glad we took the gamble and will definitely be back ! read more

Their coffee just isn't good and I give up. This place is right beside my neighborhood so it's really convenient but it's disappointing every time. I swear they are just serving sugared milk. I started getting cold brew and adding a shot in hopes to taste any hint of coffee but nope. This time I said something and they said they added another shot but there is no change (second photo). Love love loved the coffee here. It was BUSY on Sunday morning around 9:30 am when I was there, but there were 5 ladies working and HUSTLING. My iced white mocha was DELICIOUS and so was my breakfast croissant. It's a cute spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Take seat and be a little patient, it's worth the wait. The coffee here is great quality, but be prepared for a longer wait time during busy periods. Also, online ordering can be a bit of a hassle. I recently ordered a regular chai latte (not a dirty chai, so it should not have had espresso), but it came with espresso anyway. I hope they fix these online ordering mistakes soon! read more

They definitely have their regulars that come in and are created with follow-on questions from their last visit, or a greeting by name. Ambiance is "comfortable". It's can get its rushes where it's hard to find a seat, so it can feel small, but the place is very inviting... we could had stayed there for hours. They have food! Delicious coffee spot in Escondido! I have been here a few times & each time I came, they are busy! It is definitely the place to go for good coffee. There was a group of people playing music outside & I heard they come there regularly. Friendly baristas, an assortment of pastries & you must try their croissant sandwich, the pesto spread is amazing! I've been served cold coffee drink on multiple occasions, and they are sometimes so swamped, you don't get your beverage until a half hour later. Just not efficient for a coffee house. This is that "third place" that others strive to be. For the vegans there is a perfect bar in the cold case. But what makes this place so special, is it the food, the comfy chairs, the music???? No, it's the staff. I was greeted with the biggest smile and welcome. I felt like it was an old friend. I love that they have brews of the day! Which is not what I got today. What I got today, is one of my old time favorites that I haven't seen in a long time. An orange peel mocha. Talk about breath of god amazing!! It was the corrrct temperature, flavors and preparation. And to make it extra extra, there was actual orange peel in my mocha! Yes please!!! For my snack, I opted for the thing I am always searching the world over for, the perfect cinnamon roll. Well, let me tell you, they have one of the top two ever! The other one is in an airport in Boise, so this is the best in the county by far! Came in on a Saturday morning at around 9:50am, close to 10am. There was no wait, but there was already around 70% of tables filled with people drinking coffee and chatting. There is a lot of seating here! The vibes seem so cute. It seems like a local favorite. There are all different age groups hanging out around hereI'm surprised I've never heard of it before. They have seasonal drinks, so I got the Pistachio Bliss Latte (pistachio & brown butter). A worker's favorite is Brown Sugar Macadamia, so that's what we got as well. Got them in both 24oz. Their biggest size. Less ice Once it at 10am, a line started forming! It took about 15 minutes or so to get our drinks. They were so tasty! I give this place a 5 star because the workers were so nice, the environment felt welcoming, vibes were chill, local favorite, lots of seating, and tasty coffee. I loved this place, I think this would be a great spot to study and stay and hangout. The workers are super friendly and the prices are pretty good. It was just enough of a busy environment and semi quiet. Their seating area isn't huge inside, but for a Saturday mid-morning it wasn't too crowded. My girlfriend got the snickerdoodle latte had good espresso, it didn't taste burnt. It was sweet but not too sweet. I got their spiced chai latte, it wasn't too spicy, it was a good amount and creamy. Their ice is top notch, it's like little pebbles. read more

This is a bright and charming little coffeehouse located in a mini-mall. Free parking but it can be hard to find in the lot. The line to order could be long but it moves quickly. The counter staff were all very friendly. They have an extensive drink menu and their sweet drinks are darn good. We tried their August special and it had toffee and all sorts of sweetness. It was very good. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and baked goods. The cinnamon roll we tried looked more like a popover but it was delicious. We tried the matcha and the hot chocolate and both were horrible. The hot chocolate tasted like water and the matcha tasted like milk.

Walking distance to the house. Very friendly service. Bagels are delicious and coffee is even better. They've extended their hours compared to a couple of years ago and there's new ownership. Sadly ownership has changed and so has Blue Mug. What was once a charming locals hangout with phenomenal pour over coffee has changed into a corporate feeling coffee chain. No more pour over. Replaced by mediocre coffee brewed in industrial fashion. After a 15 minute wait for a cup of coffee I expected it would be delicious. It was not. Came during the middle of the day on a Thursday about an hour and a half before closing. There were plenty of items to choose from on the menu. The baristas were super kind and helpful. We ordered a coffee and a tea, both of which made us fully caffeinated! They made it exactly how I wanted despite a minor delay in service. There was plenty of seating indoors. If you like extremely long waits and little plastic bits in your mocha, then yes, by all means go here. Today it was a 10 minute wait for a regular coffee. Maybe I'm just impatient but that seems a bit excessive. Also, the cups are always dripping from the lid and get coffee all over the place. Not cool when the majority of your shirts are white.....I get that this isn't a chain but geeze man, I came here to not be stressed out about my morning coffee. I gave them a second chance after finding the plastic bits in my mocha but from now on I'll just brew my own. I usually do but wanted to treat myself today. They also have a lot of pastry options (so long as you get there early, they're popular) as well as bagels and breakfast sandwiches, all of which are delicious.
