Love love loved the coffee here. It was BUSY on Sunday morning around 9:30 am when I was there, but there were 5 ladies working and HUSTLING. My iced white mocha was DELICIOUS and so was my breakfast croissant. It's a cute spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Take seat and be a little patient, it's worth the wait. I'll be back to the area the beginning of August and I will absolutely stop by again. Thank you!!

Blue mug is truly one of the best coffee shops in north county. Customer service is unlike no other. All the employees at this cafe sure do make you feel welcomed. I always get a blackberry iced latte and a english muffin bfast sandwhich that always leaves me super happy. The ambiance is always super chill and welcoming.

Great coffee shop with indoor and patio seating. Service is great. They definitely have their regulars that come in and are created with follow-on questions from their last visit, or a greeting by name. Ambiance is "comfortable". It's can get its rushes where it's hard to find a seat, so it can feel small, but the place is very inviting... we could had stayed there for hours. They have food! I just got a cheese danish on this trip, but they have assorted pastries, eggs, and bagels too.

This is that "third place" that others strive to be. It is the cozy neighborhood coffee shop, where friends meet to catch up, friends meet for the first time, husbands and wives meet mid day to see each other, people come to "work" and the community hums here. The tables and chairs are comfy, the music is the perfect pitch, sound and genre. The coffee menu board, I could spend weeks trying every thing and never get to the end of the list! There is something for everyone. With all the milk and nut milks you could want to fit your diet. For food they have scones, croissants, coffee cakes, cinnamon rolls, danish, muffins. For the vegans there is a perfect bar in the cold case. But what makes this place so special, is it the food, the comfy chairs, the music???? No, it's the staff. I was greeted with the biggest smile and welcome. I felt like it was an old friend. I love that they have brews of the day! Which is not what I got today. What I got today, is one of my old time favorites that I haven't seen in a long time. An orange peel mocha. Talk about breath of god amazing!! It was the corrrct temperature, flavors and preparation. And to make it extra extra, there was actual orange peel in my mocha! Yes please!!! For my snack, I opted for the thing I am always searching the world over for, the perfect cinnamon roll. Well, let me tell you, they have one of the top two ever! The other one is in an airport in Boise, so this is the best in the county by far! It is fluffy (unusual - but great), cinnamon-y and the drizzle of icing was sweet and proportional. Stop by, bring a friend or meet one.

Came in on a Saturday morning at around 9:50am, close to 10am. There was no wait, but there was already around 70% of tables filled with people drinking coffee and chatting. There is a lot of seating here! The vibes seem so cute. It seems like a local favorite. There are all different age groups hanging out around hereI'm surprised I've never heard of it before. They have seasonal drinks, so I got the Pistachio Bliss Latte (pistachio & brown butter). A worker's favorite is Brown Sugar Macadamia, so that's what we got as well. Got them in both 24oz. Their biggest size. Less ice Once it at 10am, a line started forming! It took about 15 minutes or so to get our drinks. They were so tasty! I give this place a 5 star because the workers were so nice, the environment felt welcoming, vibes were chill, local favorite, lots of seating, and tasty coffee. I also absolutely love when there are seasonal menus!

I loved this place, I think this would be a great spot to study and stay and hangout. The workers are super friendly and the prices are pretty good. It was just enough of a busy environment and semi quiet. Their seating area isn't huge inside, but for a Saturday mid-morning it wasn't too crowded. My girlfriend got the snickerdoodle latte had good espresso, it didn't taste burnt. It was sweet but not too sweet. I got their spiced chai latte, it wasn't too spicy, it was a good amount and creamy. Their ice is top notch, it's like little pebbles.

    Very nice iced drinks.

We tried the matcha and the hot chocolate and both were horrible. The hot chocolate tasted like water and the matcha tasted like milk.

Ask the Community - Blue Mug Coffee & Tea

Do they sell whole bean coffee?

I believe they do, I am almost 100% positive they sell Black Rifle coffee as well as other brands.

Did they close? :( the phone lines aren't working

They are open, they changed their number a little while back. They are also open on Sundays again now as well. I think Monday is the only day they are closed

Can customers purchase loose leaf tea to bring home? Do you sell Yerba Mate?

Yes! Tea is sold by the ounce, and sadly no Yerba!

I love love love the banana matcha or their coconut water with matcha foam. To be completely honest, I was never a fan of their other dessert puddings or tiramisu's because of how overly sweet almost everything is. I think sometimes even the seasonal drinks can get pretty sweet as well. I'm not sure yet because I haven't asked but it would be nice to be able to adjust sweetness for drinks. As for customer service, I can say it's alright. Not the nicest but not the worst either.

From what I remember, Oh My Pate Cafe used to sell banh mi sandwiches. Now they focus on coffee, matcha, sugarcane juice, and desserts. Honestly, I think the drinks and banh mi would have been the perfect combo, but maybe one day they'll bring them back. When I walked in, the cashier was working by herself and helping another customer. I completely understand being busy, but there wasn't much acknowledgment when I came in, so the shop felt a little uninviting at first. The cafe itself was very clean and cute. I noticed their July special was the Corn Matcha, which immediately caught my attention because it's one of my favorite matcha flavor combinations. I knew that was going to be my order. I ordered the large Corn Matcha. Their menu advertises ceremonial Uji matcha made with Oatly oat milk. My 24-ounce drink came out to a little over $10 before tip, which honestly caught me off guard. I think that's the most I've ever paid for a matcha, even compared to shops in downtown San Diego. At that price, my expectations were definitely high. I did notice they pre-batch their matcha. Personally, that doesn't bother me too much because I don't think it changes the flavor that much. I know some people care about the authenticity of whisking each drink to order, especially when you're paying premium prices, but for me it comes down to whether it tastes good. The matcha itself had a smooth flavor and was strong enough to actually taste like matcha instead of milk. It even kept me awake for a few hours afterward, which is always a good sign. The corn cream on top was rich without being overly sweet, and I loved that they added real corn pieces along with corn flakes. It made the drink taste much more natural instead of tasting like artificial corn flavoring. The quality of the matcha was definitely there. My biggest hesitation is simply the price. It's hard for me to justify spending over $10 on one drink, even though I genuinely liked it. If you're looking to treat yourself and you're a matcha lover, I think it's worth trying at least once.
