Some of the BEST matcha in North County! The mango mochi matcha is unmatched and as someone who sips my drinks, I drank it all in under 10 minutes, it was THAT good! I've also tried their mango sago and it was very yummy and fresh. I really want to try the banana pudding but I can't justify spending $10 on a single portion size. That seems to be their biggest miss for me, which is why I had to take a star off. Their prices are definitely higher than a regular coffee shop. $8 for a small and $10 for a large.
Discovered this place while getting my dog groomed next-door. The fruit tea was outstanding! It was just the right sweetness and made with fresh fruit. I'll definitely be stopping by here again.
This place has been on my radar for the longest time. I finally found myself up in North County and knew I had to stop by. From what I remember, Oh My Pate Cafe used to sell banh mi sandwiches. Now they focus on coffee, matcha, sugarcane juice, and desserts. Honestly, I think the drinks and banh mi would have been the perfect combo, but maybe one day they'll bring them back. When I walked in, the cashier was working by herself and helping another customer. I completely understand being busy, but there wasn't much acknowledgment when I came in, so the shop felt a little uninviting at first. The cafe itself was very clean and cute. I noticed their July special was the Corn Matcha, which immediately caught my attention because it's one of my favorite matcha flavor combinations. I knew that was going to be my order. I ordered the large Corn Matcha. Their menu advertises ceremonial Uji matcha made with Oatly oat milk. My 24-ounce drink came out to a little over $10 before tip, which honestly caught me off guard. I think that's the most I've ever paid for a matcha, even compared to shops in downtown San Diego. At that price, my expectations were definitely high. I did notice they pre-batch their matcha. Personally, that doesn't bother me too much because I don't think it changes the flavor that much. I know some people care about the authenticity of whisking each drink to order, especially when you're paying premium prices, but for me it comes down to whether it tastes good. The matcha itself had a smooth flavor and was strong enough to actually taste like matcha instead of milk. It even kept me awake for a few hours afterward, which is always a good sign. The corn cream on top was rich without being overly sweet, and I loved that they added real corn pieces along with corn flakes. It made the drink taste much more natural instead of tasting like artificial corn flavoring. The quality of the matcha was definitely there. My biggest hesitation is simply the price. It's hard for me to justify spending over $10 on one drink, even though I genuinely liked it. If you're looking to treat yourself and you're a matcha lover, I think it's worth trying at least once.
They have the best banana iced coffee! I've gotten this a couple times here but I need to try more of their menu items the next time I come. They had some great pudding selections, mango sticky rice and hot foods that I can't wait to try. This is a quiet, clean and open place to come do work so I might do that next time! Customer service was friendly, quick and easy.
How exciting to see a new Vietnamese business open up in this area! I often visit San Diego and am always looking for some yummy Vietnamese coffee and drinks. The interior was very cute and aesthetic. There are some tables and chairs around to chill or study. We ordered the pandan matcha, Ube matcha, and mango matcha. It a while for the drinks to come out and when it did, the worker just plopped the drinks onto the counter next to us. We were very confused and asked if it was ours. They said yes, but we saw that one of the drinks was pink and asked what it was. They said it was the strawberry one and we told them we didn't order that. They tried to argue with us and said yes, it is. I had to show them my receipt for them to do a double take. Another worker came by and helped them out but, what an odd experience. During this day, we saw on Instagram that they were giving out free chè. The person that took our order and plopped down our drink didn't give us any. I saw a new cashier give it to people after us and asked for some. Not sure what happened with that one worker but wasn't the best experience for us. I was really hoping the drinks would make up for the service but it was just okay to me. The flavoring for both the pandan and Ube didn't really taste like pandan or Ube. The Ube tasted like chocolate to me and I didn't really taste pandan. The coffee was great though. If I were to return, I'd probably just get a straight up coffee.
This review is specifically for the Sweet Cup. OMG where has this been all my life?! It has the most nostalgic, delicious cereal milk flavor with all my favorite fruits. While I was a bit bummed at first to find out they stopped serving banh mi, Oh My Paté definitely makes up for it because their dessert game is next level. Every single treat is a winner, right down to the mango sticky rice! Great job!
My salted coffee was good. Just happen to see this place and went it. I did however go in for a bahn mi... sad face. Well they don't make them anymore. Let down but it's ok.
My review is based solely off of the bbq pork bahn bi sandwich I had today. The service was good, friendly staff, place was small but cute. But this sandwich...I was sadly disappointed. I love me a good bahn mi. This was probably my least favorite I have ever had. Where to begin? The bread was so crunchy that it hurt the roof of my mouth, it was painful to eat. The carrots had this extreme vinegar flavor, overpowering everything. The bbq pork had no flavor, very hard to chew as if it was old, and also had so many inedible fat pieces that I had to spit out. And there was basically a half of a cucumber placed inside. The portion was large but the flavors and quality was a miss for me. Sorry guys, I really wanted to like this place. Not sure if I will come back, I might just to try out the drinks.
Came on a Tuesday around 4pm and it wasn't busy at all. The banana matcha was so good! It wasn't too sweet and I'm so glad to have been able to taste the matcha itself. The Vietnamese coffee was also amazing. I'm not a coffee drinker at all, but my bf order it and it really surprised me. We of course had to get their banana pudding ($9.99), and it was also very good. I really like how it's in a reusable container. The cafe itself is on the smaller side, but I there's a good amount of seatings. It did get busy about 20 minutes later, and we felt bad as there was only worker doing both drinks and register. But please be patient if you do decide to go, the drinks are so worth it!

The staff was attentive and welcomed me as soon as I walked in. I went on a rainy day and it was relaxing to sit at the table by the window and enjoy the banh mi while watching the rain. Overall, great place I will definitely be coming back for more!

I opted for the banana matcha with oat milk which was pretty good. I think next time I'd try a more subtle flavor matcha so I can really taste the tea. OH MY PATE CAFE has been on my radar for a while. they had me at crispy-skinned pork belly. was in the neighborhood a few doors down at Mission Grappling where my nineteen-year-old son's been training for nearly a year. yeah, I know. I owe them a Yelp review too. very Americanized version of the classic Vietnamese sandwich: imagine an overstuffed Bahn Mi with less fish sauce and lime in the flavor profile and lots of mayonnaise. the pork belly was warming on a stream table and more gummy than crispy but I'm a sucker for Thịt Heo Quay even in its most insipid forms. gotta agree with JiaJia T -- service is painfully slow. still, a pretty darn good sandwich. stopped at 88 Ranch Market on my way home for skin-on pork belly so I can cook up a batch of my own.
An absolutely must stop for Banh Mi! Oh my goodness this place was amazing! Service is fast and friendly. While the shop may be small it packs a HUGE punch. The sandwiches are BIG and very filling. The portions and proportions of the sandwiches to the price is comparable and reasonable. We ordered the beef and crispy pork belly. The beef narrowly inched ahead of the pork belly as our favorite only because the pork belly was not as crispy as we hoped, but don't let this deter you because it was equally as delicious as everything we ordered!' The tea and Vietnamese coffees we ordered were also fantastic. If you want a good Vietnamese coffee in north county, this is so far our favorite!

Some of the best matcha in North County! I had to make my way over after only hearing good things about them! They've rebranded (from Oh My Pate) and are now only focusing on drinks and desserts. I got their new Corn Matcha and the Cheese Foam Matcha. At first glance, the color was beautiful! A true vibrant green. At first sip, I was hooked! Strong profile and creamy consistency. Love! Also, their cream tops are really good. I'm quite picky about my foams- most places make it too thin or too milky. I appreciate that all their foams are on the thicker side and have strong flavor notes. The corn foam actually tasted like corn and the cheese foam was actually savory. read more
We visited BewBew Home Cafe, formerly Oh My Pate Cafe, around 12:50 pm on a Sunday. There's both a cashier and a self-ordering kiosk, which makes ordering pretty easy. The shop itself is on the smaller side, but there's a decent amount of table and bar seating. The parking lot is spacious too, so we had no trouble finding a spot. We ordered the Mango Mochi Matcha, Earl Grey Matcha, and Strawberry Matcha, all at half sugar. The drinks came out pretty quickly considering there were a few people ahead of us and only two employees working. The matcha itself was smooth with more grassy undertones. I usually prefer nuttier matchas, but I still found theirs enjoyable. My main issue was the sweetness. Even at half sugar, both of the fruit matchas were much sweeter than I expected, while the Earl Grey Matcha felt more balanced. I think light sugar would have suited the fruit drinks much better. Overall, I enjoyed the matcha enough that I'd come back, but I'd definitely lower the sweetness next time. I'd also be interested in trying their coffee on a future visit. read more

My first time trying in the area, my boyfriend and i loved it! So much so he went back for another matcha! The staff was so friendly and gave us their favorites on the menu. Super clean dining area as they also have Bahn Mi sandwiches and a few other things. We did try the pork belly bahn mi, didn't get any photos:(, but it was delicious! Super fresh, great rations of everything, and the bread was amazing. The Pandan Matcha was great! The Pandan foam tasted just like the Buko Pandan my boyfriends Lola makes! The sugar cane passion fruit juice was so fresh and flavorful, not too strong nor too sweet. Banana Matcha seems to be all the craze right now, this one is now definitely in my top three! Plenty of variety of drinks! So much so i can confidently say there's something for everyone. read more

I've been seeing people post about Oh My Pate and was finally able to stop by while in the area. All I can say is wow!! Not saying the food is bad in San Marcos, but their matcha and banh mi were so impressive and delicious! We tried the crispy pork belly banh mi, bbq pork banh mi, blueberry matcha, and banana matcha. The banh mi bread was nice and crispy while still soft and fluffy. They don't skimp on the meat and the mayo is delicious. The matchas were our absolute favorite and you could actually taste the matcha flavor. Banana matcha had delicious banana cream on top and blueberry matcha had a good blueberry cream and fresh blueberry puree. There's a good amount of seating inside, ample parking, and the staff were friendly. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again. read more
A great place to grab some good tasting drinks and sandwiches! The crispy pork belly banh mi was delicious, and though the price seems higher, it's for a really big sandwich that you can easily split with someone. The matcha was great too! I got the ube matcha small size, and love it. The inside was cute and the staff was very friendly. It was good to come in the morning before any rushes for the day/evening came in. Got the strawberry matcha and the pork belly banh mi and they were definitely on the pricier side. The strawberry matcha was good but automatically came with the foam, which I didn't like. It was too sweet and tasted like an artificial strawberry milk shake. Other than that, the matcha quality and purée were good and I will skip the foam next time. The pork belly banh mi was okay. I lowk did not even taste the pate and the cucumber was so bitter. Definitely want to give this place another try tho ! read more

Cute little mom and pop shop, and the worker was very nice! I've been craving a banana matcha but the options are limited in North County - I think both their matcha and banana creme are a little more light and was hoping for a more pronounced flavor - especially for the price point. It's a decent spot if you're in North SD but over-hyped on social media IMO. read more

It's a cute little place to have a báhn Mì sandwich. Service was okay. They weren't the most enthusiastic taking our order. Their coffee is nearly as much as it cost for a báhn mì so seeing that turned me off. The drink options look great, but at $7.99 I rather just make my own at home. The báhn mì sandwiches that we ordered were the bbq pork and pork belly. I've had my fair share or vietnames sandwiches considering my location of work and comparing their sandwiches to the restaurants I frequent during lunch break, I can clearly say that these sandwiches are at best 3/10. They practically give you a whole cucumber in your sandwich and a thick green jalapeño. The bread was overly toasted and irritated the roof of my mouth. Pork Belly was extremely fatty. Pieces of the pork belly skin could not be possibly consumed by human kind. and the same issue with a halved cucumber and chili pepper were shoved into this sandwich. The bread on that one as well was overly toasted and scraped the roof off my mouth. This is one business I would not go back to again. read more

Love love looove Oh my Pate Cafe! This is truly a hidden gem! Tucked away in a little plaza and you wouldn't know that they sell amazing Banh mi's! Order the bbq pork and the crunch on the bread was prefect. Super crunchy but not hard, avoid eating this one in the car Also tried their matcha. Not gonna lie I was a bit skeptical to order but the banana crème matcha was a game changer. It's not something I usually order but the combination went well. If you like banana this will not disappoint. Nice subtle flavor to it and not overpowering. Their matcha drinks can compete with San Diego so don't be shy. Service was good and fast! read more
They need to change the name from oh my to adu ma pate Cafe. This food was adu-mazing! I'm a really big banh mi snob and I've eaten it all over the world, including Viet Nam. However, this place is worth the hype. The drinks were bomb too. I ordered the crispy pork and it did not disappoint. Packed with protein and flavors. I also got a pork BBQ added egg to go cause I was feeling it. And those flavors were so on point. The bread was fluffy and crispy as well. If you looked up the definition of a good banh mi in the dictionary, it would picture this. Service was nice but it's the standard order at the window though, there was plenty of places to sit and enjoy your banh mis. However, I could imagine this place being backed with the near by college students. Anyhow, it's just a great place to bring a date and just chill or do school work. read more

So, I'm back LOL. I noticed the cups were the same as shown on the menu which was a very pleasant change. I'd say this change has made the ranking of this shop in my list go from a "in the area" shop to a destination shop (will go out of the way to grab some because the drinks are worth it). The coffee quality is still good as always and the egg cream coffee is still a 10/10. I'm excited to see what new items will soon be added to the menu and this might just be my team's goto coffee & matcha shop with the growth and progress. The food is so yummy and unique! The crispy pork belly is so flavorful and crispy. My only critique is that pieces are big so you have to take huge bites. The Vietnamese coffee is not adjustable sugar so it's pretty dang sweet. Service is quick and servers are nice! The inside is cute but small. Quick easy meal. read more

blueberry matcha: delicious despite the expensive price. it was a bit on the sweeter side but matcha tastes good! I would get this again. I like the stronger blueberry flavor sugarcane drink: a little gritty and not as sweet but still really good!!! soooo delicious with a banh mi beef garlic banh mi: I would not recommend this. this was waaaaaay too salty!! and the pate was too bland. I was really looking forward to a lot of pate at this place but the pate was a little watery and too stingy. However the bread was delicious. I would try a different banh mi service: super friendly! the girl taking my order was so sweet and def made me want to come back and made my trip here such a sweet start. I love banh mi and matcha so had to stop by when I was in the area! Came on a Saturday around noon and there was no line to order. There was a decent amount of tables inside but it was surprisingly almost full. We ordered the crispy pork belly banh mi and banana matcha. The banh mi was big enough to share with my sister and left us both full! The bread was nice and crispy though the pork belly was kinda fatty and not crispy at all. It came with lots of carrots, cucumber, cilantro and mayo but I couldn't really taste the pate. It wasn't the most authentic but was still good. The banana matcha however was delicious! The banana cream was perfectly sweet and wasn't overpowering and paired well with the strong matcha. I would come back just for the matcha if I'm ever in the area. Saw this place advertised on social media and decided to give it a try, my friend and I got the lychee green tea and the mango green tea. It was about $9 for a large each. The mango green tea was yummy I really enjoyed the mango chucks at the bottom of the drink it was really great. The banana pudding was more runny than I've had at other places but the taste was still good. It was also around $9 for a rather smallish container. The place was pretty popular we stayed for a while and so many people stopped by. The service was great and the girl behind the counter was nice! read more

I'm so glad an egg cream coffee place opened up, a good one, the Viet coffee is strong and it's an actual drink and not like a dessert drink. It's a bit pricey compared to my favorite one in Mira Mesa, but it's the only good one in town, and they open early. I've tried their matcha with ube foam, it's good but I'm just not a matcha person. Wish they had regular milk tea. I could use a good milk tea. It's a perfect stop for us to come by and grab some coffee before heading to the zoo. We also got a banh mi, the bbq pork (char siu style). I've also tried the pork belly and beef. The beef had a great peppery taste. I like! And The pork belly is amazing! So good. The banh mi is large and they are pretty generous with the portion, unlike other banh mi places in San Marcos. I'm a fan and hopefully they last. This location has been 2 other food joints. I hope they get their kinks worked out too. Currently it does take a bit for food and drinks to come out because they don't pre-make anything. It's made to order. Hopefully they find a way to make the wait sustainable. read more

I searched on YELP for some new BUSINESSES in SAN MARCOS and OH MY PATE appeared! FINALLY we have a good sugar cane drink place in the area... SONG of the DAY to play along to this YELP REVIEW: UNCHAINED MELODY by the RIGHTEOUS BROS... OH, my love, my PATE I've hungered for your BANH MI A long, lonely time And time goes by so slowly... We waited about 20-25 minutes for our order. There was 3 orders ahead of me. There's only 2 friendly staff on site so we understood and waited patiently. PLEASE BE PATIENT because there's only 2 people and they are still new to running the business. I was hoping to try the THAI DESSERT CUP or MANGO & STICKY RICE but, they SOLD OUT!!!!! COCOCANE: 10/10 sweet and refreshing! UBE MATCHA LATTE: ? Ordered it for my mom... SUGARCANE: 10/10 LOVE IT!!! MATCHA EINSPANNER: 9/10 thick, creamy, not sweet and very strong matcha flavor! I am so happy there's a cafe serving Vietnamese coffee and matcha in north county, let alone San Marcos!!! We only tried the drinks this time but we are excited to come back. The matcha quality is great like look at that color! And the viet coffee is definitely strong and they're using the right stuff. We saw som le banh mi's being assembled and would have gotten some if we didn't just finish lunch. Excited to see what is to come for this place! read more
