We're from out of town, and found this restaurant on yelp. What a jewel! Amazing food, atmosphere and impeccable service.

I had the hummus plate, arugula salad with grapefruit and some mac and cheese. Everything was great but the salad stood out as the best salad I've had in a long time. Pretty quiet, mellow atmosphere and friendly service. The place could use better ventilation, the air got pretty smokey/greasy and I'm still coughing from it. This place has a great selection of unique food. The fries are out of this world. The burger to die for. Service is a bit slow but it is because it is always jam packed. It is well worth the wait. Stopped in to Sabertooth for lunch yesterday. I had some fantastic chicken tacos and my wife had the quinoa lettuce wraps. Both were super tasty. I love the vibe of this place. Service was great. I wish it had more parking but you can always park on the other side of Hope and Anchor and walk around. I also like the fact that you can order drinks from H&A and have them at Sabertooth and vice versa. Next time I'm going for the burger. read more

I don't understand their high rating other than El Paso's sudden obsession with hipster gastro pubs(myself included). Food was extremely MEDIOCRE. Tacos were tasteless and burger was underseasoned and way overcooked. Service wasn't much better. Seems like a cool little spot next to a cool bar, but doesn't live up to its high rating. Service was terrible! The staff was very rude and inattentive, ignoring our table on more than one occasion when it was very clear we needed their attention. The food took a while to be brought out, which is understandable during the dinner rush, but when we asked our waiter for an update he shrugged his shoulders and looked very annoyed. Love their veggie Sandwich and the burgers !! I usually add chicken to the veggie sandwich. Make the fries extra crispy. The nachos are pretty delicious too. Make sure you don't wear a jacket that you use on the regular - your clothes will smell like their good food for days. read more

Took my girlfriend to this establishment this weekend. We have been there before and had a good experience. This time was different. Granted on previous occasions the owner/manager was there and had a personal interest. On this occasion, we were the only customers there at the time and there were 5-6 employee working. The 50's era music is usually enjoyable but this time is was really cranked up. My girlfriend and I could not even talk. My Gf asked the waiter to turn it down which he agreed. Unfortunately, he did nothing. About 10 minutes later, I stopped the same waiter again and reminded him of our previous request. I was shocked that he rolled his eyes and proceeded as to fix it. Another employee questioned him as to what was our request and again he display his attitude and still did nothing, At that point we were left with no choice but to leave this place prior to receiving our food. This explained why we were the only ones in the place. I really hope the owner gets this message and makes a solid effort to train staff, establish rules for volume limits, hires a manager (if you cant be there) who will represent your business in a positive manner when your not there. read more

This place could be a five star joint but it needs to get better organized regarding service and food preparation. The nachos are stellar and the Caesar salad CAN be great, but on the night we went, despite barely TWO tables seated in the restaurant, the kitchen got our various entrees to our table over a fifteen minute window (just not acceptable), and the one taking the longest was theoretically the one that should've been the easiest to plate. One salad was still so waterlogged and not properly dried that a huge pool of water collected at the bottom of the platter. The dressing was great, but that's cold comfort when croutons were like a wet sponge. And again -- the restaurant wasn't even half full. So to recap, this place can be very good, but clearly a little better organization by ownership/management is in order. read more

The waitstaff was very attentive, food was quick and healthy, but more importantly very tasty. I was so glad to finally find a place worthy of dining in El Paso, yeeesss!!! This is not a large fancy place, but it is quality eats made well, good vibe, laid back like where we're from, Austin, and they have vegetarian options beyond just your garden salad. And did I mention the prices are super reasonable. Done, done, and DONE. I loved their house salad, super tasty micro greens with balsamic vinaigrette with blue cheese, strawberries, and walnuts. Sabertooth has got a bite on me! This spot is a gem that is a must visit for someone looking for something different. I have been passing by this place since it opened, telling myself I had to visit and now that I did, I'll definitely be going back. The decor is unique and a fresh surprise. The cafe/bar counter is great if you're riding solo and just want a quick bite with some friendly company from the chefs. You'll definitely have plenty of visual stimulation while you await your food. Which is not long and the service is great and very attentive. The falafel sandwich is a must try and really filling. It packs a ton of flavor and is easy on the budget. The fries are the best as well. Freshly cut potatoes fried just perfectly for a crispy outside and a smooth rich flavor inside. The rock salt is also a good addition. I like the connection to Hope and Anchor next door and will be trying a drink with a meal soon. read more

I went here with two of my girlfriends, one of whom came here once before. To start of the seating is very limited there are about 5 or so two seat tables and one maybe 6 seat table and a some outdoor tables as well. When we first walk in it we get hit with the heat! It is hot as an oven in there there was absolutely no AC circling and no ventilation what's so ever. The outdoor seating was filled so we had to sit indoors. My friend said it was worth it so we decided to give it a try. Our drink orders were take immediately. Same with our orders but they were out of a lot of the things on the menu. So between the three of us we ordered two nachos (one with chicken and I got the pulled pork.. And the pork was very tasty) and Mac n Cheese.. Shouldn't take long right? 45 minutes later still nothing! The place has now become empty and we were still waiting! They have us complimentary chips and mango salsa I believe. It was soo bland and the chips hard. When we finally got our food my chips were burned and most of the cheese seemed to be on the plate rather than the nachos. Did I mention it was HOT inside!! I don't know if it was just an off day or what but my friend swears it wasn't like that the first time she came. Not too sure if I would try and eat here again..... read more

Love love love their tacos and honestly if your looking for a place to just hang out and enjoy some good food that is the place to do it.

Overall, the service was good. The food took a little long to come out, but that's cause everything is made in house. We ordered the nachos with chicken, fajita steak sandwich, with a side of Mac and cheese. They did not skimp out on the cheese! The chips are made fresh to order, layered with refried beans, topped with white melted cheese, jalapenos, tomatoes, and cilantro. The fajita steak sandwich had bell peppers, onions, and I asked for the avocado sauce on the side. The flavor was great, but the meat was a bit on the chewy side. I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese. It was a little watery, then after a while started to curdle. I'm not sure what kind of cheese was in it, just know there were several kinds mixed in. The only other downside was that we walked out of the restaurant smelling like we had been in the kitchen all day. It took a lot of febreeze to get the smell out. I would recommend going for a snack before the bars. I would go back for the nachos. read more

Food was very good, but one of the cooks kept coughing on his hand and then preparing our food without gloves. He also was texting on his cell phone. I never saw him wash his hands after this. Mesa street is known for its variety of great bars and restaurants that are known throughout El Paso, Sabertooth is easily one of the top 10 restaurants on the street. If you're looking for fresh, tasty, great food this is the place to go. The interior of the restaurant gives off an indie, cozy vibe with a cool open kitchen visible from your seat. Everything about this restaurant is delightful ... Cassandra, one of the co-owners, showcases her talent and passion in the dishes she creates, the dishes are beautifully and tastefully prepared and the prices are ridiculously reasonable. She was a delight to speak with, as well as, Saul, one of the restaurant staff. Even though the closing hour was supposed to be 10:00 pm, they welcomed other patrons past that time and did it with a smile. We were hoping to return the next day to try additional dishes, but the staff was enjoying some much deserved R&R on New Year's Eve. If we were local, we'd frequent this fine establishment ... it's hard to find great food, great service and great prices all wrapped up in one restaurant. I highly recommend it! read more

Well first time i went i had the pulled pork tacos and they were great! So i decided to go back with my wife and daughter and well i sat on one of the tables by the window and their was drops of water falling on my back while we were their the girl that was the main chef kept sneezing all over then got out of the kitchen to greet some ppl then took my plate that i had been waiting for, about 40 minutes to the wrong table and when she was told about it by servers all she did was go back inside the kitchen area and fixed me a plate super fast but the tortillas were cold and the pork was too sweet had a very unpleasant experience that chef really needs to get her things together and focus on making all the customers happy not just her friends i will not be returning here at least not with that chef their she should have apologized to me for the long wait and taking my meal to someone else but the other staff is great i like their servers... read more
