Everything is sooo good. I definitely recommend the cubano sandwich and the fish tacos. There is something in the menu for everyone.

We came in on a Saturday night, I ordered jicama and cucumbers for a appetizer and for the main dish I ordered a portobello burger. Initially I was disappointed that the burger was sans a patty and only a portobello... But you know what it didn't need the patty the portobello was seasoned perfectly. I was so impressed that I ordered a falafel for a encore .... Which was also good. Service was prompt and I could see the chef prepare our food diner style in front of us. My wife and friends went here last night for dinner before we drank next door. Wow! What a treat. This is a really nice place despite its small size. I had the falafel sandwich and it was top notch. Both of the girls got the steak tacos and they raved about them the whole time. I had high expectations for this place, but unfortunately it fell short. The restaurant was almost empty and our server managed to forget our order and had to come back and ask us to repeat. Later, he brought us the appetizer that another table had ordered. Normally I wouldn't mind, I'm not a stickler for perfect service, but given the quality of the food, that added to the overall bad impression of the restaurant. Before getting to the food, another drawback was the space itself. As soon as I started sitting at one of the high tables, I noticed that the window sill was dusty - and even saw a hair. I moved places, but the general feeling of uncleanliness stuck in my mind. The food menu looked very good. The concepts are good and interesting, but the execution was disappointing. We ordered the nopales con queso - it was a good idea that fell flat on its face. Cheese is delicious and so are nopales! How could you go wrong? Somehow they managed. It was gloopy and too oily - not good. It congealed only a few minutes after being served. The flavor of the nopales was completely drowned out. The chips weren't good either - they were over-fried in my opinion, but I know some people do like that. I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich. I've had similar sandwiches elsewhere, and was looking forward to the delicious taste of grilled portobello. Unfortunately, they dressed the mushroom and the greens with a very strong vinaigrette - actually, it was soaked in it. It tasted like a salad inside of a bun. I love salads with vinaigrette, but I don't want to make a sandwich out of it. 1/5, not good at all. The bread got soggy after a while, too. My boyfriend ordered a burger and asked for it medium-rare. The server didn't even ask, but he asked for that specifically. When it came out it was well-done. What a way to ruin a burger for someone who specifically asked that it not be overcooked! That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Terrible. read more

Someone please tell me why the food is so delicious here!?! I got the pulled pork torta and it was perfection. The pulled pork was tender and juicy and the mango salsa in it was the right amount of spice and took the flavor levels to the top! I tried my husband's "El Jefe" and that was incredible as well! Delicious, spicy chorizo on top of a thick and hearty patty. For dessert, we had the Sabertooth Elvis - peanut butter, banana and your choice of jelly jam all fried into two huge pieces of deliciousness. This is a must-go when you are in El Paso! I had been looking forward to try Sabertooth for a few months, so I was disappointed when I walked in just to turn around walk right back out. The tiny restaurant was full when we got there at around 9 pm on a Friday night, which is understandable, yet we were expecting a host or employee to greet us and suggest other options or give us a wait time or something but the waiters just buzzed around us leaving us standing at the door clueless. Finally we got the attention of a waiter who rudely told us there were no tables and no room at the bar, but that we could sit outside. It was 35 degrees so we just left. I doubt we will be going back. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible service! If you want mediocre, warm temperature food, with a side of the server's bad attitude- this is the place for you! We have given this place three chances and they get worse and worse. The server ignored our table the entire time and managed to mix up everyone's order. He gave me the wrong burger and once I bit it, I realized it was the wrong one. He came up to the table- took my plate and didn't bring me back my original order for 20 minutes. Didn't even bother to apologize. Same thing happened the last time we gave this place a chance. The server forgot one plate in our order, never apologized, said it was on its way. He then served everyone else around us then came back 15 minutes later to tell us it was almost out. Another 10 minutes the chicken tacos arrived- cold and soggy. Next time we are hope, we are sticking to Bloody Mary with a grilled cheese. read more

Holy crap, I love the food here! I've had both healthy and savory food here, such as their quinoa lettuce wraps dressed with a spicy peanut sauce or their steak sandwich with grilled peppers and their poutine green chile fries (*must not drool*). I deeply appreciate that their fries are made with fresh sliced potatoes (if I'm wrong, they're still doing something right because they're delicious). They have a green and red posole and both versions are the bomb. Ooh ,ooooh, and their chile rellennos stuffed with nopalitos will make a grown man cry tears of happiness. Considering how packed it always seems and how small the space is, the service is pretty good! The only reason I give four stars instead of five is because the last time I went, I waited about 30 minutes for a salad to go, only to go home and see that it was mostly spring mix with four or five thiiiin slices of strawberries, a dash of cheese (come on, at least let me know if you're low on crumbled cheese and give me the option to replace it with a different one) and a teaspoon of nuts. Yes, I know salads aren't the most exciting thing, but it feels kinda crappy when you pay about 10 bucks for what's basically a box of spring mix, which you can buy for around four bucks at a grocery store. Lesson learned? Don't order salads there. Everything else has been so good though! read more

Cool place. Connected to the chill bar Hope and Anchor, Sabertooth company (cool name) provides the food to beer and food duo. A tiny little diner, Sabertooth is a throw back to old fashioned diners. They serve bottle cokes for instance. I went in at 1230 on a Thursday and it was pretty dead. Only another table of two there. Restaurant is pretty tiny but I could see it getting crazy packed in afternoon and evening with bar spillover. You can order their food from Hope and Anchor. Sabertooth doesn't offer alcohol but they allow you to bring in drinks from Hope. On the recommendation of the waitress I ordered the pork nachos. The wait was about 20 minutes which was a little long since i was one of three people in the restaurant. But the food was delicious. Each chip had significant heft. I will say I was slightly disappointed by the amount of pork in the meal. Each chip was mostly a mountain of chz and bean. Delicious to be sure but I had to look to find the pork. I would imagine wait time is significantly longer when more people are present. That being said the service was good. The waitress was quick to refill my water and helpful with her suggestions. On a road trip with my boyfriend and I was looking for something that adhered to my dietary needs and this place looked great. I got the quinoa lettuce cups with no quinoa add zucchini and mushrooms and sauce on side... DELICIOUS. however, my bf ordered the bacon burger and they got his order wrong twice... completely wrong burger the first time and the second time they gave him a falafel patty instead of beef. Our waiter was great and the kitchen was quick to fix their mistake (pluses for both of those) but it was just frustrating because we wanted to eat together and not go through all the miscommunication between the ticket and the server. The server was awesome (I'm emphasizing this again). He brought us whatever we needed and checked in just the right amount of times without being annoying. Anyways, good prices and a wide selection of food. Definitely an easy quick and YUMMY stop but our experience wasn't 100. Maybe next time, El Paso! read more

Here's the deal. Great location - right next to Hope and Anchor. Very attractive interior, with an open kitchen. Servers are friendly. But the food was so spotty. Now, with a location like the one they have, they'll do good business even with spotty food. So we're probably going to see them for quite a while. And I'll say that if you order the things they do well, you'll be happy enough. The good news: the pork that they used for their nachos, tortas, and tacos is great. Tender pulled pork, and heated up in a sweet and spicy au jus. Delicious. The burger is a nice hand-formed, 8 oz. patty, and for a little extra, they'll give you one with bacon and jalapeno ground into the patty. They get a nice sear on the meat, although it appears that the default temp is med-well (or just well), which is over for my taste. The nachos that have drawn solid comments are pretty well done. Individual nachos on in-house fried tortilla chips, beans and cheese on each chip. Finished with some tomatoes, a slice of jalapeno, and cilantro on each one. Definitely pay the extra $3 and get the pork on there. What is problematic is the lack of tasting by the cooks. You watch them cook, and no one tastes anything. The posole desperately needed salt. I was almost embarrassed at how much salt I had to put in there to make it taste reasonable. And beyond that, the broth itself was thin - definitely not based on a rich, pork broth, but probably just a spice mix, and water (which I suppose makes sense - the pork in the soup was the shredded pork). I watched them take out a large container of the soup from the fridge, portion out multiple orders into a pot, and no one ever tasted what was in the pot. And as watery as it looked coming out of the fridge, I'd be shocked if the broth ever met a soup bone. It's amazing what $5 worth of pork necks can do to a stock pot of broth. And there are some things that are just misconceptualized. The mac and cheese is a great example. They bake it off in a large tray, then it's refrigerated. Then portioned out to order, reheated, and then topped with bread crumbs, and broiled. And not shockingly, it's dry. Like real dry. The cheese blend they use was tasty. But man, it was in desperate need of some bechamel added in there at some point. And at $10 for a portion, you expect some thing that's appealing, creamy, a little stringy. Not something that's just dried out. Along the same lines, though to a much lesser degree, they have hand-cut fries that look great, and taste meh. The price is great: $1.50 for a side order, $2.50 for a generous basket. (Note, this is in stark contrast to the previous tenant, Valentine's, who had delicious food, but had all sorts of crazy pricing, like trying to charge $5 for a miniscule side of fries). But the conceptualization is a bit iffy. They do a single-fry technique, and the fries end up a little greasy, and not quite as crispy as you'd like. If you're going to do hand-cut fries, it's basically not worth it, unless you do a double-cooked technique (blanch at low temp, then fry at higher temp to crisp). Otherwise, you're probably better off doing frozen. And there's some sloppiness (or foolishness, I suppose) with plating basic things, like wings. You see them fry off the wings, and they look good. They toss them through to coat. Then they plate them nicely, with some carrot and celery sticks. And then the drown the wings in a bunch of extra sauce. It's one thing to be a bit sloppy if your Buffalo Wild Wings on Wing Tuesday. But when you're charging $10 for a dozen wings, some more consideration is warranted. There is some hope, though. They do a lot of little things well. On the posole, they serve it with a lightly pickled red cabbage, fresh cilantro, and finely chopped radish, and a lime wedge. On all of the sandwiches, they do a nice job toasting the bread so that it's got a nice texture. The plates look appealing. So here's the deal. Stick w/ sandwiches, tacos, and nachos. Order fries if you've had a few to drink next door. Avoid the posole and mac and cheese, until they get it ironed out. read more

I have been to this establishment about 5 times, each time having the same experience with the service. Literally have had the same waiter each time, and each time I am eating there for about 2 hours, even if it is just me and another person. I really really wanted to like this place because the atmosphere is awesome, and I LOVE establishments like this, but the service was THAT bad. I think the pork tacos are good, but they get way too spicy for me after a while. The Elvis dessert was good and for sure get the wings! Also the Chile Relleno was pretty good! I would usually recommend this place as I've had good experiences in the past, especially with one of the waiters who is super cool and down to earth. But today's service was terrible. There were 3 waiters and none would take my order. I basically had to go up to the counter to order after I let the waiters know I was ready to order multiple times. The waiting time was also ridiculous even just to get the bill or my card back. I've never had this kind of experience in a place before. I hope they do something about it as I will never again recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
