Immediately my cousin told me that this was the best school for dogs in the area. She was right that is for sure! My husband and I started taking our puppy to Rhodes Collar immediately and worked with Michelle on dog obedience skills in both private lessons and group classes. Curtis was able to get involved in a group class entitled Good Citizen Skills. He passed the class thanks to the excellent training from Michelle and owner Glenna and there continued patience with us as new owners of Curtis. We are still taking classes with Michelle and working on more advanced skills now, we really enjoy the classes. The staff are all amazing, Linda helps Curtis with the after school program, she is incredible, Maureen is amazing and helps with so many areas of running the school, Rileigh is also amazing and helps us when we need to board Curtis though Custom Care. We feel 100% confident that our puppy is safe and treated well when we go away, we get pictures and videos of everything he does at school like report cards or when boarding at a staff's home. Staff are always available in a on text and honestly this school is so amazing that my husband and I agree we are better dog owners since going to Rhodes Collar, we plan to be long time customers and are forever grateful to them. We have never had or trained a dog before and just knew the bare minimum of sit, stay, etc. At 1 years old, Miso still really struggled with potty training, barking in the house at outside stimulation, over excitement and aggressive fear of strangers. Within one session, Jesse, recognized where I needed to improve in my own training as a dog owner and what Miso needed to learn to be a calm, happy, dog with manners. She taught me how to read dog language and how I had actually been reinforcing bad & fearful behavior this whole time! Jesse gave me the training tools and techniques to practice with Miso on a daily basis. The progress has been astounding and before Jesse, there were moments when we thought we might need to re-home Miso. Now we can't even imagine not having Miso in our family, thanks to her!!! Jesse is a patient, articulate, and very knowledgeable trainer who loves what she does. I highly recommend her! You need to put in the training work with your pup on a daily basis, but Jesse is the one you want teaching you how to efficiently and effectively train your pup!

We love My Dogs Place! We first heard about them from a flyer in our puppy package at our vets…read moreoffice. We started taking our dog, Nellie, to the puppy socials and she loved it. We could ask the trainers question and concerns we were having while there. We quickly enrolled her in puppy kindergarten and then basic manners. We were taught everything we needed to know to make our puppy the mature dog she is becoming. After continuing with the socials, we learned about a tricks and games class that we enrolled her in. We had a lot of fun with this course and Nellie loves showing it off (of course for a treat). We quickly enrolled her in daycare and couldn't be happier; she's so tired from playing all day. We enjoy MDP so much, we spend all most every weekend at the socials in EL and Mystic when we can. Thank you Jen, Marge, and all of the great staff at MDP!

He was finally accepted to daycare after six weeks and the first day I picked him up they said he was barking., well so we're all the other dogs. this day care is not all that clean and totally smells like dog urine. the other two kennels he attended you could eat off the floors.

After the 6-week intensive training program (which included private and group lessons), he was completely different. And adding several weeks of canine camp helped us and him hold onto his progress. I'm not sure we would have been able to keep him and they made the difference. And now we are happy to have him and are thrilled he is part of our family.

He will warn people that his communication is "direct," but that is inaccurate. His responses are dramatic cut-and-paste messages that often have nothing to do with your own request. My dog got what it needed from training, but lost a good amount of weight. When this was pointed out to the assistant, they reviewed their instructions- sure enough, the wrong amount of food was listed. It should have been obvious for a dog that size.

We rescued a 12 week old puppy from Texas and quickly learned we needed pro help as we haven't been puppy parents for 20 years and this little girl was a nutjob and may have been heading down a bad path behavior wise. Kristin got right back to me after my initial web page inquiry. When she arrived, she was relaxed and professional and her kind, caring, genuine personality was obvious from the start. She CARES about our furbaby. Her training skills were so effective even from the initial consultation that this little pup was learning: come,sit,shake and down (heel) and most important to us was her going in her crate when asked as this is something we really want her to master and be comfortable with. Kristin made it known that our role is crucial in her training and gave us handouts for our homework and skills to be met. By the second session, our pupper was learning: "touch" (snoot boops), learning to jump into her bed and "leave it" (biting stuff) and stay. We are able to redirect the evening zoomy/crazy time with physical and mental workouts for her that is good for all of us.
