Hey folks! Welcome back to this fine evening. I came here for the sole purpose of redeeming my free margarita. And I did just that. Good night... Jk Tastes: my house margarita was definitely from a mix. But it was free, so I can't complain too much. My chicken mole was somewhat chewy on the chicken side, but the mole sauce slapped. Ask for a side of there spicier salsa..that was fire. Service: A lil hectic. I did have to ask for chips twice. And my dish came with corn tortillas of which I did have to question why they weren't originally platted with my meal. To which the response was: "it was just sitting there". Oh and at least it was admitted that the waiters were scattered tonight. Ambiance: Mexican music playing over a screaming mother cursing like a sailor to her child because said child was supposedly throwing food across said table.......said. Am I glad this place had a mole dish. Yes, because I always like to compare who does it better. Are there better Mexican joints to go to? Yes. read more

Disgusting!!! I'm not sure what happened to this place but considering my last review was a 5/5 and this one is a 1/5 I have to assume someone else bought the place. The food is now horrible! My son is currently washing his meat- he got pork that is typically not spicy but tonight is very spicy. I got a dinner combo- enchilada and chimichanga. Apparently not only did they increase their food prices but they charge extra for hamburger meat. What meat comes with it? Hamburger meat is the cheapest meat you can get! My daughter, 10 years old, says the meat tastes worse than her school lunch meat. Sadly we wasted $70 for dinner tonight. Sadly our once favorite Mexican restaurant is now the worst! This is NOT what we've had in the past! We've been coming here for years! We typically make a 35 minute drive but that's not going to happen anymore! The red sauce on the enchilada is disgusting! The salsa is chunky and disgusting. The whole meal was a waste of a drive, waste of money and disgusting! Very very very disappointing! My daughter keeps saying that this food tastes worse than the food at her school. My son is already in the bathroom with an upset stomach! Don't do it!!! The food. It is not Mexican food. Mexican food is vibrant and plentiful and an explosion every time you take a bite. This was just bland, ground beef and a tortilla smothered in the same sauce that they in the chips and salsa. The burrito supreme isn't nothing but ground beef wrapped in a tortilla with a little sauce over top of it no cheese, no onions a couple sprinkles of sour cream. I'm always in search of good authentic Mexican food and this did not make the cut. read more

I've known about Sabor a Mexico for some times. Finally, today I make my first visit to this North Fort Myers Mexican restaurant. First, as you enter the door, the ladies greeted me with a friendly smile. In the background with a little Mexican song, one lady even hum or sing a few words. That is nice ambiance.! For lunch, I started off with a pint of ice cold Modelo. Warm chips and salsa were served as soon you sit down. The chips are very good; however, the salsa could use a little more heat! I opted for one of my favorite Mexican test dishes, Chiles Rellenos. That roasted poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and fried after dipped into batter. It was well prepared and flavorful! The refried bean and grilled corns were equally good. The price is reasonable. Needless to say, the service is excellent. Definitely will be back for more! read more

This used to be a place I loved no more ! The service was horrible and went for a special occasion. I was so embarrassed that I recommended this place . The food was horrible and the menu different. Small portions thrown on a plate . Had to physically go find the waitress after sitting there for over a hour waiting for our check . New owners and new staff never again. The first time we ate here the service and food were pretty good. The last time we ate here about a month ago the food was gross. The service was so, so. My husband had a beef burrito with rice and beans. The meet was very greasy. The rice was very dry with little taste. He ordered black beans but it came with refried beans instead. The server did bring out some black bean as we were about finished anyway due to the food just not being good. I had a pork burrito. The meet was so greasy and fatty that it churned my stomach. This was our favorite restaurant we live nearby and have had the pleasure of being able to walk there at least once if not twice a week and not only enjoy a delicious meal but see the same friendly faces for well over 3 years. We loved to bring guests to try this food we've been raving about and all of them said it was the best Mexican food they have ever had. Not anymore. First we noticed less familiar faces and then only 1 person left. We sat at the bar waiting for someone to approach us, no one to be seen. the couple who were there well before us finally were just getting greeted and menus so we walked out and went somewhere else. We decided to give them another try and that led us to another disappointing evening. No familiar faces , new menu that was photo copied and then to find out new cooks. We ordered our favorite dishes although it was ok it was not Sabor anymore. While we were eating we were checked on an uncomfortable amount of times and then when we asked for the check they all disappeared after about 20 minutes or so we did the math left cash and walked out never to return again. Sabor no more Please change the name so the people who have been loyal to this restaurant know it's not the same place and save them and yourselves from more disappointment read more

This is not the same place I was at 2 months ago. They shrunk the menu down and for their sakes that's a good thing because the food was not it. I overheard it was new establishment along with a new cook so that explains why I WILL NOT be returning. We asked for the chorizo cheese dip because my wife loves it and what we received was barely melted cheese it was so chunky and just not it. Sucks because we really enjoyed their food prior. And just for reassurance the lady sitting at the next booth was complaining about all her food being overcooked and undercooked and bland. Oh well on to finding a new place. We have frequented this place many times prior to the new ownership and it was always great. However, this time was something so bad I had to write a review, which I never do. I have also never in my life sent anything back to a kitchen because I understand mistakes or bad days happen, but I simply could not do it. The meat was dry and looked days old, there was absolutely no flavor to the salsa, the margaritas were $15 with what seems like zero alcohol. Everyone around us also sent all of their food back. The servers were nice, but we cannot go back. I urge you to go literally anywhere else. read more

Yikes. As a person who rarely writes reviews, I can't let this one go. Sabor used to be a pretty consistent go-to. Other than our waitress who did provide excellent service and plentiful chip refills, the actual food was almost inedible. As soon as our $9 halfway filled soup cup of guac and canned queso arrived, we immediately asked if the ownership had changed. Unfortunately, the authentic taste left with the previous owners. I could go on about each entree delivered, but for our usual $100 plus dinner out ($86 plus tip for waters, guac, queso, overly dried carnitas street tacos with inedible corn tortillas and previously frozen plantains, make your own (steak) bowl, taco salad with minuscule pieces of chopped steak for $5 upcharge and chicken nachos drenched in canned queso and jalapenos), we should have gone with our gut headed to Daddy Dee's for dinner! read more

Not what it used to be. Complimentary chips and salsa used to be served when you were seated, but now it has to be ordered and has a cost. Food portions were not as large, and the taste was not as good as before. I understand it has new owners, but someone is going to have to take charge and improve the food. This is a hidden gem. I had never tried this restaurant because it looked a little like a dive, but my friend recommended it and said it was fantastic. It's for SURE, the best Mexican in North Fort Myers! I got the quesa birria tacos, we also had queso dip, fajitas and classic tacos. All VERY DELICIOUS! Service is fantastic! It wasn't just our server checking on us, but as other employees walked through, they checked on us. Our server helped us choose which were the best items and even told us about fried ice cream they had that we didn't see on the menu. There are plenty of booths and seats and good Mexican music, not too loud. Just a perfect place for Friday dinner! read more

Start with the good: ambiance. Authentic Mexico design music and decor. Service: Christian was very good at taking our order and checking on us. But when we mentioned our problem with the food, he ran away and that was that. Food: we have been here several times and food just keeps going downhill. This time the chips and taco bowl all tasted like old spoiled oil. The chicken was just BAD. The fajita meat was tolerable as was the ground beef. But we won't be back. Good area of N Fort Myers with many other chain and non-chain surrounding. Easy in/out with stop light. Plenty of free parking. Prices are good here. They start you with free chips and salsa, which were average in taste on both. My wife tried the Saturday special, chicken and steak fajitas for less than ten. Great deal, good quantity of meat, peppers and onions. Veggies could have been a bit more and the biggest complaint is only three small tortillas (and another post said they charge for extra, so we didn't go there and they never asked). We ate about half the plate with a fork after running out. I tried the combination with three items you can choose from a large list...all accompanied by rice and beans. Went with shredded chicken enchilada, bean tostada and ground beef burrito. This was very filling (and I helped with my wife's), so both of us were stuffed. We also tried the margaritas in the small size. I went with raspberry and she with mango. Both glasses rimmed with sugar. Option is on-the-rocks or frozen; both choosing the later. For what I believe was six this was super yummy, but not much alcohol in the small, so keep that in mind if that is important. Ambiance was pretty basic Mexican look. Sports playing on TV's throughout (thanks for having the Tampa Vipers football on!)..Mexican paintings on some walls, Mexican hats and wraps on others. Only concern was one wall had Terra cotta tile above the tables and one section had come down (hopefully not on heads). Service was above average. All spoke English and numerous staff checked on us throughout. We would return to this restaurant next time we are in North Fort Myers. It is right across the bridge from Downtown. read more

What a disappointment going to our favorite Mexican restaurant! Menu has changed, the friendly employees that used to be here are all gone, and the food was horrible! Wait staff saw us come in and were disappointed to see us since we didn't get a greeting or smile. They were supposed to be open until 10pm and said they were closing at 9pm, I'm guessing due to only one table being occupied there at 800pm Ordered the cheese enchiladas with onions in which I always do and it tasted bland, no onions that I asked for and they changed the cheese they used to use, asked for the Verde sauce which was a dark sloppy sauce and it was horrible in which was excellent before. The rice was bright red, used to be yellowish and it had no flavor whatsoever. I asked our waitress that was not friendly at all if there were new owners and she said no. I proceeded to tell her the food does not taste the same and she said we have a new chef who changed the recipes. Big mistake since the food was horrible and I left everything on the plate after I tried the enchilada and rice. I read the other 1 star reviews and I know this was not my imagination of how your restaurant changed so drastically from excellent quality food to inedible food and unfriendly staff. We used to love this place and been coming for years but the past couple a months this place has going down hill. Sometime we get orders messed up and we don't really mind bc it's usually still good. Sometime get bad food but it's does bother us. Loyal to the place. We just went today and it was the last straw. We got a booth for 2 people. Got chops and waiting for 15 Mins and no service came by to take our order. They served people who just got there that were Spanish and not us. I said something and they said they will get to us and we waited another 5 mins and another table that got in after us got served. We 100% done with this place and will never go back. This is not my first time at this restaurant and usually it is a very good meal. for starters, I paid $17 for a build your own burrito and it was the smallest burrito I have ever seen. it did not come with sides and the food came out cold. the queso on top was almost fridge temp and the food was also cold. $17 for this meal is unacceptable and frankly high way robbery. The cheese sauce is scooped from an unrefrigerated can that sells for 90 dollars a case from restaurant supply vendors. Tortillas are raw/uncooked. New ownership probably just bought the liquor license. Don't go here anymore. read more

Pretty dern good! I didn't like the red sauce (too tomato-y and a bit bland) on the enchiladas but my dinner mate had mole carnitas enchiladas that were SO delicious! The beer was cold, the free chips and salsa were fresh and delicious, and the service was very good (although they didn't ask why I hadn't eaten my enchiladas or if I wanted to take them to go. I didn't). I had a draft Corona that was much bigger than I expected. I will be going back and I absolutely will be having the mole enchiladas. There were plenty of items I would like to try. Have passed this place many times, so the daughter and I decided to check it out. First, the place is very clean and spacious. Had to wait at the front for a minute of two for the hostess - no big deal. Got seated and was promptly attended to with waters and Chips. They have many daily specials - so you should definitely check them out. Looking at the menu, its filled with lots of stuff. I got the Cheese Steak Burrito and my daughter had the Arroz con Pollo. The food was delicious and fresh. For dessert we shared the Fried Ice Cream. Not the best (not really fried). The coating (corn flakes) was kind of stale/soggy. Next time I'll go next door for ice cream. Overall a nice place. The only thing was our waitress would disappear for long periods of time. Didn't check on us, or bring us refills on the water. I had to find her to get our check. Looking around, it seemed like many others were experiencing the same thing. I guess if you're just hanging out and not in a hurry - its a good place. read more

We came in here for a quick appetizer and drink. Horacio was our server/bartender. I love a good jalapeño margarita and hubs and I both got one. We ordered the beef nachos too and they didn't disappoint either! He told us Saturday night 5-10 live music as well. We will have to check that out one night but we will come back here. We came back here and they had a new bartender the drinks were un-drinkable. They looked pretty but tasted awful. We had to ask for more agave nectar and still the margarita was just not good. A great find. An ample amount of nachos and salsa while your meal is prepped. The food arrived fairly quick, and was very good. I had the chicken flautas with yellow rice and charro beans. My wife had the nachos supreme which was a massive plate of nachos, and her brother had the steak quesadillas they came with beans on the side served in a hard corn tortilla half shell. So good, the service was very good, and it's a chill place not too loud. Kick back and enjoy your meal. Definitely coming back next time we're in town. read more

I was excited to try this place as I was told by multiple people that it was good. Worst experience; this is a ZERO start review but have to give one star to continue. My husband and I went with our eight month old and joined our friends that had their two-year-old and six month old along with them. When we got there we had to maneuver through the restaurant as there was salsa spilled all of the floor (which was not cleaned up the entire time we were there for an hour and a half). Our friends who ordered their drinks before we arrived, waited quite some time as we were the only table besides one other two top there. We then ordered our drinks (margaritas, which were awful) and she rushed to tell us that we should place our order now as a 20 top of baseball players had just walked in. We asked if we could get our drinks so we had a few more minutes with the menu. She came back and was in the process of taking our order. I ordered steak fajitas and after my husband ordered I had told her please no tomatoes on my meal and her response was " What part of meal do you not want tomatoes on bc if you don't want them on your beans they don't come on them?" I said doesn't it come with a side of shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato? She said no doesn't come with any of that. I was taken back by her response. Our server definitely did not look like she was with it at all, not all there. The way she was speaking and acting something wasn't right. After 30 mins go by she walked by the table saying "shouldn't be long" but didn't ask if anyone wanted/needed refills on drinks. Another 30 mins goes by and she comes up to us and says "they are plating your food now, legitimately". Waited another 10 mins, she was no where to be found and I went to the front and asked for a manager. Explained to her "we have been here over an hour. We have three young children, and we still have not gotten our food. I don't know what is up with our server, but if it's not coming out by the time I get back to the table, we're leaving." She asked what we ordered and went in the back. Just as I sat back down at the table, she approached us and told us that there was ticket issues and the ticket did not print in the kitchen. I said bs, she never put our order in because it doesn't take over a hour for four meals; there were only two other tables in the restaurant. The manager had nothing to say and we walked out. We were greeted when we entered the restaurant and promptly shown to our booth. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Typical decor, nice music, with seating for very large groups. Very good food, tostada was really good, taco shell was really pre shaped, not so good. The pinto beans were so yummy! My spouse had steak and chicken fajitas. The veggies were grilled to perfection!
