Sabor De La Vida has great Yelp reviews and I love a great taco. I was surprised to find them colocated with a gas station, but the restaurant is roomy and clean. The clerk was friendly and upbeat. The menu offers standard Mexican fare. Prices are ok. I ordered my standard three chicken tacos to go and paid. He said it would take about 10 minutes. My tacos were delicious, packed with meat and cilantro. The chicken was moist and the red and green sauces were amazing with a lot of flavor and a slight kick. The corn shells stayed together nicely. This restaurant is attached to a gas station... don't let it fool you, the food is really good, in the picture we had sopes, a cuban torta, and a pupusa. The pupusa was very flavorful, the curtido that it came with confused my taste buds a bit, all of the food had a lot of flavor, it was obvious that it was freshly done, and very delicious. This place was such a big surprise .... very clean inside and there's a few tables. I had to try Mexican food at a gas station in Edinburgh. It was a honest, hard working pop-mom shop owned by Mexicans. I was glad I went. They were very friendly and polite. Got lots of chips with my meal. Salsa was good. Lots of families filling up tables on a weekend lunch. I had 3 tacos of carne asada, al pastor and chicken. They were quite tasty, but the tortilla shells were doubled on each taco, overwhelming the taste of the meat. There were little meat compared to the size of the tortillas. Stopped at the gas station to just get a drink and found this little Mexican restaurant. What a hidden gem! Very friendly service, the food was prepared fresh and was really awesome. The chicken is not dry at all and the refried beans were the best we ever tasted! The pork Tacos were so delicious that I could eat them every day! I ordered the lunch special tacos through GrubHub. I had pollo and carnita pork. The meats were well seasoned and flavorful! The tacos came fully dressed with the various garnishes and toppings you normally expect in a street taco. I appreciate that they mince their onions and radish so that every bite gets those tastes. This a true hole in the wall and absolute gem of a restaurant! Even though it is located next to the gas station, the inside was very clean and tidy! The service was prompt and polite, and the young man was very polite and answered all of our questions! My mother and I were the only ones inside so we received our food pretty quickly and it was given to us the moment it was done! The food, the food was absolutely delicious! I am a Latina with plenty of experience with Mexican food and this felt like my Mexican friend invited me to eat at their house! I got the chipotle chicken (to try something outside the normal food items I usually get) and my mom got the tacos de lengua! Food portions were great, meat was flavorful, and it was not greasy. This is huge when traveling as fast food tends to make me feel icky and this hit the spot and left me feeling pleasantly full! This was a two person operation it took about 10 minutes for my food to come out. I got the Chimichanga with beans and rice. When it came out it was mildly warm wish it was hot, but it tasted great. The salsas that came out with the chips were great. I liked the red salsa better than the green, both were good though. The location wasn't the greatest but the food made up for it. Masa stuffed with chicken tinga, topped with tomato sauce, lettuce, crema. The beans and rice were substantial and actually good. Usually I leave half of that stuff on the plate. I'd get this again anywhere. Bean pupusa was tasty, served with preserved slaw (I forget), and tomato sauce. We got a couple tamales verdes para llevar but haven't gotten to em yet. What a great experience! Not to offend anyone but I've learned that the ability to speak English is not necessary for making amazing food! I have made it a point to stop here whenever I have a chance when heading to Indy and I'm never disappointed. The sweetest girl had taken care of my order each time and is very attentive throughout. I usually get my food to go but was able to take my husband last time and dine in and again everything was wonderful. All the fixings with chips were tasty and perfectly accompanied our food. My husband had the soup, pozole, and it was so packed full of meat and things he eats that he couldn't finish it. My husband and I have passed this spot many times going to the outlet malls, and finally stopped in. We took a trip to Mexico City last year, and fell in love with huaraches.
