Very disappointed in what used to be a good place to eat for the price. The sides are 3oz. For the price they should be 8oz or more. The to go sides are a real joke. This is very disappointing and is indicative of corporate greed. The staff is friendly and the food is fair for the price in general. However, to see the customer grossly overcharged is sad. I will not ever be back. I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

This location is just ok for me. I was in the area and decided to get a to go order. I've been to other sabor's before but this location was a first for me. There was only one table there and I didn't wait long to place my order. The staff isn't that friendly and it was hard to hear anything the cashier was saying because it was so loud in there. Also, they do have salsa to go but only two different flavors. I had to ask for the salsa I wanted. I ordered two meals and when she handed me the two to go solo mini cups of salsa, I asked for two more and she seemed slightly annoyed. Not my go to location and not sure I'll be back. read more

Hey what happened to you guys? We ordered food about 2 weeks ago. My wife and our friend ordered queso and chips. The chips were terrible in both orders. They had a bitter burnt taste. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. There was a few tiny pieces of of grilled chicken in the center of the sandwich. Other folks we have spoken to had the same opinion. You guys were really good when you opened and have declined rapidly in the past year Don't think we'll be going back. read more

I initially really liked this place. However, the more ive ordered from here the more it's gone down. I enjoy that the have the family meals available and we were ordering that during the pandemic more than 5 times. However multiple time our rice would be dried and crunchy or we'd order extra queso and it would be left off our order. I'd chalk it up to being understaffed, but now it's been consistently bad. To where I almost always expect something to be messed up with every pick up order. Then most recently this week I decided to forgo the rice and beans and stick to tacos. I placed an order only for pick up after 4:50 and my husband arrived at 4:55. It takes 5 mins to drive home. When I open the box the tacos are soggy and broken in half. Which makes it really hard to eat tacos that way.... and I had ordered over 20 tacos. I sent them a message through email, no response, sent them a message via FB and luckily someone responded and took appropriate action. But I'm going to have to find another taco place fast because I've given sabor a multitude of chances, but they can't even get the basics down. 1 star for offering family meals 1 $1 taco days. I have ordered from Sabor in Charlotte several times, always delicious. The menu is varied with so many filling choices for tacos, bowls, salads, gorditas... I like that they offer several vegetarian options and even vegan. I am a big fan of Mexican food since I hail from Southern California and I expect a specific flavor and preparation; I have not been disappointed yet! I work In Davidson now and had to try the Sabor around the corner from me, just as tasty and flavorful. Tasted even better I think because I picked up my food and ate it outside the building on Jetton, nice environment on a summer day! Staff was super friendly and my food was ready for me. I was super bummed by my Davidson experience. I really enjoy Sabor and so we were stoked to try out the Davidson location. Unfortunately it wasn't great. We ordered three empanadas to eat in the restaurant. Twenty minutes later we still didn't have our empanadas which is unusual for our Sabor experience. My boyfriend got up to check what was going on and they'd marked the order as to go so it had been boxed up and sitting on the counter for a little while. Long enough that the empanadas weren't that warm anymore. More than that, the empanadas weren't full at all. It wasn't consistent with the empanadas I've previously had. I definitely left disappointed. Again, a bummer considering how delicious Sabor can be. read more

I think the thing I like the most about this local and growing brand is the consistency in quality at every location I've visited. The majority of the areas I visit for work conveniently have a Sabor pretty close by and it's always nice to know that I have a solid casual Lunch or Dinner spot at the ready wherever I happen to be. My first visit to this one certainly didn't disappoint! Lunch on a Tuesday in Davidson. Contrary to what you might think, there aren't really that many places for a quick lunch around here. Exit 31 is nothing like most of the Mooresville exits, and I think they like it that way. With that being said, this location blends in well with the shopping center in a way that makes it seem like it's been there for years. The only gripe about visiting here is the shopping center's parking lot. It's very crowded around lunch time. You have a handful of restaurants representing half of Davidson's lunch options here as well as a Harris Teeter and a school next door. When you account for all the other businesses there simply isn't enough parking. No fault of Sabor, but just keep that in mind, you may be parking quite a ways away. So I walk in for what I think is going to be a quick in and out to-go order. To my surprise, the ENTIRE Davidson College football team complete with staff is scattered throughout the place and they have all ordered ahead of me! I was dead set on Sabor's famous Taco Tuesday deal so I begrudgingly ordered my food and came to terms with the fact that it was going to take awhile. Minutes later, tacos started coming out of the kitchen like crazy. Food runners left and right with plates upon plates of tacos going to one table after another. There was easily over 60 people in that building from the College and in what seemed like an instant, all of their tables were full of food! I couldn't believe the speed that Sabor fulfilled all of their orders, and in less than 10 minutes, I had mine and was walking out, unbelievable! So of course, the tacos were exactly what I was expecting. I usually like to enjoy the tacos in-store but I had to jump on a conference call so I retreated to my car. Fortunately it was mostly listening so the phone went on mute and I was able to enjoy my tacos without everyone hearing "taco-sounds." Juicy marinated chicken with just the right amount of cilantro and onions. Your choice on whether to drizzle lime or not, I always do. The beef is just as good, but one thing to note is if you get the beef, make sure you eat it first as there's a bit more liquid in the beef and the corn tortilla will saturate quickly. Otherwise, they're both winners in my book! One thing to note is the Taco Tuesday deal is only for the authenticas tacos and only for Chicken, Beef, Veggie, and Bean (I think there might be one other, but the main proteins are Chicken/Beef). Don't expect to get one of the more decorated tacos with Al Pastor and a dozen toppings, the point of the deal is to offer a simple taco to tons of people for a dirt-cheap price! Is it worth it? Well, if you trust my opinion I can tell you that I go to Sabor for Taco Tuesday at least twice a month, so take that for what you will. The fact that this restaurant was able to handle an entire football team of guests in their dining room and still deliver delicious tacos to everyone else in a reasonable time make them worthy of high praise. First of all, let me just say the gentlemen that helped me today was super nice and very helpful!! When I ask about vegan options, a lot of people look at me like I have 5 heads. Not him, he immediately told me what I could have and was very knowledgeable of the menu. It made me feel super happy knowing I have so many options. Second, FLAVOR. In everything. The gentlemen even brought me a sample of the tofu over (which I typically don't eat at many places because of the lack of flavor) and this was packed with flavor! After exploring the menu options at South Park earlier this week and not bringing prizes home for my lovely bride I figured we could make the short drive south to Davidson and sample the wares. Would have been nice if the complimentary crib sheet hadn't blow out the window but that's the way this week has went. Anyway, the regular menu was good enough to open ten stores and it was good to us two too. Fast casual latin food: step up and figure out what's to eat, request a matching beverage, find a seat and your order finds you. Yea! And the servers don't disappear after that, they keep stopping by to check up - need some salsa? drink refill? napkins? clear some dishes? - without being bothersome. Nice touch :-) Thursday special: chicky empanada and chorizo arepa with an odd pink sauce started us off well. Seasoned shredded chickens and soft puffs of cheeses nestled in a thickish, cornish bread pocket alongside a delicious hostess-looking meat pie - except better and with pink sauce. So good! Curtido fish and autentico chicken tacos on a platter with, in no particular location: lime, tomato, onions, cilantro, slaw, and lime. Sabor is definitely going to be my replacement for Chipotle and Moes. It is a quality establishment at a fast food pace. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not that busy. I ordered queso, tacos, churros, and an empanada. Way too much food for me but that's a good thing...you get what you pay for. They do not skimp on the meat at Sabor. However, I do prefer their beef over chicken. The queso.....too die for! Moving forward, I may just go get that for a snack because it was so good. The chips are seasoned and the queso taste so fresh. Needless to say I will be back and Sabor is is a great place to go for delicious food! read more

One of our absolute favorites! We found the Sabor restaurants a few years back on a National Taco Day Crawl that we decided to create on a day off and Sabor (Elizabeth) was the last on the list. Talk about saving the best for last! Fast forward to us having our prayers answered by them opening one in Davidson and we've been so very happy ever since! The food is typically really good and consistent and the prices are such a good value for most of the items on their menu. We have had some ups and downs with this location, but I'd say 85% of our experiences have been flawless. They have some fantastic employees there but also seem to have some turnover from time to time that causes the quality to drop both in food and service, but as long as we see one of the employees we've known for a while, we always know we'll be taken care of. We only hope that the staff will settle into a groove of low turnover for a while like the Elizabeth location but understand this probably takes some years of being there. Horrible. Just horrible. My daughter ordered and picked up dinner last night for an impromptu gathering. No one could finish their meal as it was simply disgusting. Pork was borderline rancid, which was the only flavorful part of the order as everything else was bland and stale. I've been working in the area for a few months and have ate at this Sabor a few times now. First off - the food is delicious, it is a much more authentic Latin food then your typical Moes or chipotle and I'm all for that. With that being said, the food is overpriced and the servings are too small. I find myself spending upwards of $15 for lunch and still being hungry - this is unacceptable for me. The only exception is the Taco Tuesday special. Even though the food is delicious, I will not be visiting frequently because of the amount of food for the price is not justifiable for me. read more

Sabor is one of my favorite restaurants, and this location is my favorite. The food is amazing like it always is, but the staff really make it great. Tonight I ordered online, and drove to pick it up. When I got there, it was pretty close to their closing time. So when we discovered that my order didn't go through, I said not to worry about making it now because they were close to closing. (I'm a service worker myself, so I make it a rule not to order from a place 30 minutes before close.) But the staff were so kind, and asked me what my order was. They said not to worry, that they would make it right away and that they really appreciated me. Then as I was leaving, they told me to make sure and come back and that they liked me! I've always loved Sabor, when we lived in Noda we went all the time. I wanted to feel the same about the one in Davidson but we've visited a few times now and the portions are always so much smaller than they used to be. I can't justify paying $40 for two meals and then still being hungry after. The 3 stars is because it's still delicious, but the portion sizes are just way too small. read more

I went here during Covid and the food was great at that time they brought the food to the car. I ordered the nachos. Today I decided to go for nachos. It was pretty empty a few people eating inside. I go up to order and was not greeted by the two kids at the register. One male one female. The male did not even lift his head to see me standing to order. The female who was sitting down just looked at me and gave a smirky smile and no words left her mouth. I continued to look at the menu above and looked at them again. I gave them about 2 seconds to say something which did not occur, so I left. Customer Service training is definitely needed. read more

Today was their second day in operation and everything was great! I went with the Dominic on a Diet and my friend chose the empañada. We were both pleased with our meals and my friend enjoyed the wide selection of sauces. My only criticism is that mine had a bit too much liquid. The staff did a great job on the second day to make sure that the restaurant was clean and that tables were being turned over quickly for new customers. This is a no frills place, so don't expect to be catered upon like you're at a Michelin restaurant. Sabor serves Mexican street food. However, the employees are friendly and their specials are awesome. Another plus is that it will be one of few restaurants open in Davidson on a Sunday. read more

The only reason this isn't one star is because the food is actually delicious. But waiting for over 40 minutes for a take out order of one quesadilla and one burrito bowl is utterly absurd. I don't care how good the food is, if this is the standard of service they're not going to be around for very long. Edit: lowering this review from 2 stars to 1. I Gabe it another try because the food is good, this time it only took 35 minutes for a takeout order. I stood at the counter waiting so I wouldn't miss my number being called and somehow they still didn't give my the food when ready, just let it sit behind the counter until l had to ask for it and then received an incomplete order. I'm at this joint every Tuesday for dollar tacos. These guys are amazing, the service is always hella fast and supa friendly. The food has always been phenomenal and they actually have a good salsa bar! Not one of those sad, sloppy, afterthought salsa bars (looking at you Moe's), their pineapple habanero is terrific. The food has great flavor, but it is incredibly greasy. I mean, a little grease is not a bad thing, but this was excessive. My empanadas were so greasy I couldn't eat them. The street corn. Again, great flavor, but the corn was so overcooked, the texture was just mush. Finally, I got the hand-made marg mix to-go. The flavor was more sweet than anything and lacking in lime. I poured it out. A quarter of what I ordered was actually ingested. The rest was waste and I hate to waste food. And money! read more
