Warm, clean and casual place away from the traffic and hustle of downtown. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We ordered 3 empanadas to start: chicken, beef, and the El Pueblito, beans, rice, sweet plantains, pork rind. All were good, but really loved the El Puebilto. Coarse corn meal coating really accentuated all of the delicious fusion of flavors within. Super. 2 simple salads of iceberg lettuce, onions, shredded carrots started off the feast. Perfect. Next up was the Bandejita Vegetariana: rice, beans, 2 eggs, sweet fried plantains, avocado and corn cake. I was missing avocado, but did not even realize until later as this is a filling meal! Rice cooked perfectly, beans had nice flavor. My dining partner had a pork cutlet, beans, rice, sweet plantains, salad. Loved the seasoning and crunchiness of the cutlet. I choose the chicken every time and I never regret. It's covered in cheese , potato sticks, & what Colombians call "salsa rosada". In the parking lot cars park and in a tailgate form eat their delicious food truck picks. Family friendly. They place music so people tend to gather. My daughter enjoys the pieces of hotdog with French fries "salchipapa". I will continue to visit. I wish this family based hidden gem lots of years of serving happy families in its true Colombian style.

The dish with ground beef was literally ground into a dust-like texture -- completely unappetizing. The beans were cold, and the empanadas were hard, stale, and clearly re-fried; they even had an unpleasant taste. The mango juice, which I hoped would save the meal, was also a miss. Overall, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. I won't be coming back. Whatever happened between La Fonda Colombiana and Sabores Orange is truly disappointing -- the old restaurant was far better in every way.

On my first visit, I ordered the Parchados Churrasco, served with white rice, Yukon potatoes, guacamole, house salad, and chimichurri sauce, everything was flavorful and well balanced. This time around, I decided to switch it up and tried the Tamal Tolimense (Toli-Paisa). I didn't see it on the menu, but I had spotted it on their Instagram, and they were happy to make it for me. The Tamal Tolimense was a very generous portion. It's a traditional Colombian dish from the Tolima region, wrapped in banana leaves and filled with masa, rice, chicken, pork, vegetables, and egg. The filling was hearty and satisfying, but the masa itself was a bit bland and could have used more salt. We also shared the Parchados Picada (Meat Lovers) for two ($39.80), which came with steak, pork and chicken strips, fried pork belly, pork ribs, sausage, blood sausage, tiny yellow potatoes, arepitas, tomatoes, and ripe plantains. The portions were excellent and definitely worth sharing. For appetizers, we ordered the Canasta de Plátano (stuffed plantain cups with steak, chicken, and shrimp) and the Alitas de Pollo (6 wings with fries) Both were solid choices, though I wasn't a fan of the Mango sauce, I think a mango habanero hot sauce option would have been better. To drink we had spicy margaritas and a round of pomegranate Long Island iced teas, which were strong, flavorful, and well made. The ambiance is another highlight, the space has a great aesthetic, the food is always nicely presented, and the music was on point, with a mix of classic salsa and modern artist such as Bad Bunny.
