Excellent Colombian food. This restaurant offers a takeout counter as well as a small dining area. This place has a lot of counter traffic which obviously means the food must be good. We visited for lunch and truly enjoyed our experience. I had the mini lunch Bandeja montanera which was so good. My girlfriend had the chicharrón and chorizo with tostones. This is comfort food at its best and the portions were generous. My plate had a piece of chicharrón which was crunchy and good, the steak was thin but had great flavor. Terrible service, the waiters take forever to place basic things on the table such as utensils and water, they overcharge and give you an attitude when you ask why you were overcharged. They add on a 20% tip on my brother that just got 3 empanadas and 2 ponymaltas. Never coming back here. read more

This place knows how to use seasoning properly. The dishes provide include everything that will make you full. A little rice, beans, salad, and your meat or choice of fish. I also love the empanadas they have as well good small appetizers. I went with the carne Asada Mi Pueblo style . Everything was so good and flavorful. Happy with my choice. read more

I have passed by this restaurant so many times throughout my many years in Bridgeport and decided to finally give it a try, since I am a huge fan of latin food. Why only 2 stars you ask? Well, I was very disappointed with the outcome of my experience. I came here to order a dish from the lunch menu called the Mini Pechuga Asada. It came with a grilled chicken breast which was lacking flavor and was very thin, rice, beans and plantain. In addition to the lunch special I ordered empanadas which were dry and flavorless. Unfortunately the only thing I enjoyed out of this meal was the plantain. To top it off, after I placed my order with the gentleman at the front who told me it would take 8-10 minutes for my take-out order, it turned out to be a full 30 minutes for the wait due to a mix-up in the kitchen. The bright point is the friendly, attentive, apologetic service I received from the gentlemen taking down the order, when he realized how long I was waiting. If it were not for him this would have been a 1 star review. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this establishment. read more

definitely authentic food. everything was good, no complaints. the waiters were extra polite, dressed in uniform, and very attentive despite the language barrier. The place was clean. The food portions were on point. We left feeling full happy and then sleepy. we dined in and the service was pronto. They recommended the soursop drink and it reminded us of home. parking is not conducive for large vehicles. definitely would return and highly recommend to others. we only pick this place because it has late hours. Once again... ordered $83 worth of food and when I picked it up I asked for their hot sauce, the heavy set attendant gives me 3 sauces for 5 meals. When I ask for 2 more hot sauces, she told me they can't give any more. I spent $83 and you can't give me a $0.10 sauce? I hadn't gone here for a long time because of that reason. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP FOOT THERE. They lost an $80-100 customer once a moth for $0.10. Keep it up. My son's chicken was dry and uneatable. I love going to the Mi pueblo. The restaurant it's Colombian and everybody over there is really nice! The food is amazing and you just need to be a little patience cause the food is fresh, they prepare when you place your order. I try a few plates and so far so good. Great Colombian restaurant. I order fried plantains, we call them tostones and they were good. The empanadas were amazingggggg. We order over 20 for the family. The buñuelos were really good as well, and if you still hungry please try the arepas. The space is very clean and staff was friendly. The service was pretty quick, maybe because was a cold day and people didn't want to go out. They have tres leches cake and that was a hit. I want it to eat another one while I write this. Finally stopped in this place after passing by daily, I wish I didn't.Walking in, the first thing I noticed is that it was dirty,things all over the place, floors sticky etc..I ordered empanadas,chicken casa Dias, etc.They told me 15 mins, it took over 30,no problem though,maybe they were busy. When I finally got my order,I grabbed it and left. When I got it home and unwrapped it, it looked less than tasty, greasy, the empanadas weren't sealed, so all the fillings came out all over the packaging, the chicken casa Dias were basically a tortilla with hardly any chicken inside,etc. it looked awful, no one wanted to "chance" eating anything, we ended up ordering pizzas instead. I was a customer for about 2 years at Mi Pueblo restaurant. I own real estate in Bridgeport and I visit this restaurant on a regular basis to purchase breakfast, lunch and sometimes my husband and i will have meals/dinner. I have recommended this place to many of my colleagues. I, most of the time use cash or a debit card. I am a great tipper, I tip on the counter with take-out and when dining in i tip 20%. Today I went in to get a coffee and donut plus a couple of arepas. The bill was $7 and they refused my card. The employee that can speak some conversational English told me with an attitude "$10". I politely told her that I am a regular customer and can she please allow me to use my card. She said no. At this point it was not about the money - the $3 additional that they want me to purchase; it was about resolving a customer related issue. The attendant then took the coffee and the bakery things and put it aside. Am I to believe she will sell the items to someone else together with the now, almost cold, coffee. Or will she throw it out. I asked to speak with the owner. She in many more words told me the same. We cannot take a card for $7. She added that when someone calls for an order and does not pick up she throws the order out. Very important, I did not see the attendants putting the things back in the showcase. Especially thinking that before I attempted to pay I had already opened the bag and checked with my hands to see if I was given the correct items. The owner totally missed my point. She thought I was calling to ask her to take my card for the purchase. At this point I did not want the food, I did not want to purchase, I did not want to pay with my card - I was calling to tell her she has lost a customer and many, many more referrals. Just to let her know. As a business owner I would have taken the card "this time" or offered the coffee and a pastry to the customer. This is business !! Again, it was not about the additional $3. I was going to give the $2 cash in my wallet as a counter tip to the attendant, like I always do, anyway. It is very sad the way this was handled. I took my business for my coffee and bakery breakfast meal elsewhere, I felt great - a sense of satisfaction. It's my choice of which entity I patronize. read more

I was visiting my cousin in Bridgeport and we passed this little place. I asked her if the food was any good, and she'd never tried it so we decided to give it a try. I ordered a chicken dish which was grilled chicken in a Peruvian sauce with cilantro, white rice and fries. The fries were on top of the rice under the chicken which sounds weird, but it was yummy. I actually pulled my fries out and ate them separately. I understand why they were there. They actually added the salty component to the dish. In my opinion, the grilled chicken with Peruvian sauce could've stood a little salt, but...I have a salty palate, so many people might be okay with it. My cousin ordered a dish that came with flank steak, chicken, rice and sweet plantains. I tasted her "sweet plantains" and I didn't like them, they weren't sweet at all, yet they didn't taste like tostones either. She loved it, and actually picked up a to go menu to order again. She also ordered the cheese bread (pan queso...I think) and it was SO GOOD. The food did take a good 30 minutes since they made it fresh to order, so...I'd recommend picking up a menu and calling ahead. For that reason, and the slight lack of salt in my food coupled with the suspect plantains, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But I would definitely eat here again and try different things. All of the things that I didn't particularly care for, were preference issues, so...I say this place deserves a solid 4 stars. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Tried to call in an order for 30 minutes, not once was my call answered! When I finally got to them to order, I waited another 30 minutes for my food to be made. When I asked for my order, it was sitting on the counter for 15 minutes without anyone knowing it was mine.
