Ordered a pepperoni pizza at Sack O'Pizza & Pasta, which I thought was just okay. Price for the pizza was reasonable and comparable to other restaurants in the area. Decent amount of pepperoni places on the oily pizza. Crust was super thin, with some who ate the pizza not caring for the crust. Pizza was ready in the amount of time stated, which was nice especially given the reviews on timing left here on Yelp. Overall, Sack O' is good for pizza when you don't want to grab a slice down on the boardwalk (which I suggest you do if you have the time). read more

Sack O' Pizza is just very underwhelmingly average. Unfortunately, the time estimates on food is always underestimated and it always takes longer than they think. The food is good but nothing special. The last time we had pizza it seems as though they just tossed a few toppings on, and they were not evenly spread. I don't mind waiting longer for food, especially during busy beach season, but I would appreciate a more accurate time estimate. I would also appreciate if my food was given more attention to, in general. We will probably be back because the place is so convenient to the beach, but it definitely is not my first choice. read more

We placed an order over the phone for one sandwich, chicken tenders, and chicken nuggets. They said it would be about 20 minutes. After waiting in line, we started to realize people who had just placed their orders were already getting their food. Our suspicions were confirmed when we got to the window and they had lost our order. After waiting another 35+ minutes, they hand us the bag of food and we go back to the beach. Upon opening the food, the turkey sub was completely dry and unseasoned, even though we asked for oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. We also asked for mayo, onions, and peppers on the side but none of those were there. It was very difficult to eat due to the lack of moisture and flavor. The chicken tenders and nuggets were nothing better than frozen ones you would get from a grocery store. There was no discount or freebie, and hardly an apology after losing our order and causing us to wait over an hour for some sub-par food. Very disappointing. We have been on 55th street long before Sack-O was a twinkle in his daddy's eye. At first, we thought - oh my, just a cheesesteak place trying to take our money and serve sub-par food because nothing else is on this end of the island.... Well, we were wrong! Great sandwiches, salads, cheesesteaks, pizza etc. And while you wouldn't think they would have good seafood - the crab cakes and the shrimp were both excellent. Pretty good for lunch, very basic and you get exactly what's on the menu, no frills or anything amazing but it's a good consistent place to order from when you're on the beach! They have pick up, delivery, and eat-in at the outside picnic tables and a few different locations! The sandwiches and cheesesteaks are definitely the better choices, huge and made fresh! The salads are more mediocre, the lettuce isn't nice and cold and they are a little skimpy on the veggies other than the base lettuce. I got the buffalo chicken salad last time and the buffalo chicken on top was pretty good, but there were about 4 slices of red onion and a modest amount of blue cheese crumbles, and a couple huge chunks of tomato. It wasn't bad, but the lettuce wasn't super crunchy nor was the chicken. I'd stick with their hoagies and sandwiches if you're ordering. The fries and onion rings are excellent! read more

This review is based upon a limited sampling when we stopped in after a morning on the beach and picked up a Large (20 INCHES!!!) turkey sub with mayo, lettuce, and cheese. Wow! What a quality sandwich. And, that one large sub fed 4 adults and 2 kids just fine. All for just $17 bucks. Can't complain about that kind of value. Aside from the bargain basement value, the sub itself was fantastic. Great, chewy bread with a slightly crispy outside, and fresh turkey deli slices, with fresh tomatoes and iceberg. The last thing I want to do is write an unsavory review on a local business, but I just can't avoid it this time around. Normally I'll play it safe and get spaghetti with tomato sauce. You'll never go wrong ordering that. But I wanted to be a little adventurous and try something different, so I ordered linguini with garlic and oil. Never again. The dish was way too oily ended up dripping all over me. There was so much oil leftover in my tray that I threw out what was remaining. It was almost like they poured an entire batter or oil in my dish; not the best meal I've had here. So, to keep things short an conceise, if you decide to order anything from here, play it safe and go with your choice of pasta with tomato sauce. Otherwise you'll be in for an oil bath, and trust me, you don't want that. read more

Probably my favorite meatball sandwich, other than home made. Meatballs are tender, rolls are right balance of soft and crisp, and sauce is a little spicy. I also remember the chicken parm being good and don't remember ever being disappointed. 55th is seasonal, but the main location is around 9th street in Ocean City and open year-round. p.s. We live down here in the summer and go to sack O subs at 55th street a lot. When we're on the beach it's fast and easy. That being said, I don't know if there is a breakdown with the girl who takes the order over the phone or with the guys who cook, but there is ALWAYS something either missing from the order or not right with the order. It happens so often I'm surprised we still go there. The food is fine but I am tired of them screwing up orders. Check your order before you leave the store. Especially if you order sweet peppers! read more
