I started going to the Sacramento Acupuncture Project years ago when a client of mine heard about my back injury from a car accident and recommended I give them a try. I still remember my first session and the immediate relaxation I experienced. My pain level dropped dramatically the more sessions I did and I was thrilled that I had found a method to help manage my pain that didn't involve a prescription. Fast forward to now, years later, when my mom tells me of some discomfort she has been experiencing and I suggest she get some acupuncture. Pay it forward, right? I decided I could use a little de-stressing myself, so booked our appointments online together. I left feeling lighter and more relaxed and my mom said she definitely felt improvement and booked more sessions. If you've never tried acupuncture before, this is undoubtedly the place I would recommend going to for your first experience. The staff are professional and compassionate and will walk you through the whole process with a one-on-one consultation to ease your fears. Online scheduling is a breeze, payment is on a sliding scale of $20-$40 per session (pay what you can afford via cash/check/easy pay card) and all you have to do is roll your sleeves and pant legs up and let the itty bitty needles do their thing while you take a nap. It's really that simple and oh so worth it!

Wow, just an all around gem of a community resource. I left my first visit feeling so well cared for. The in-person intake process was fairly quick as Whitney took some time to ask follow up questions about my answers from the initial online intake form. I was then led to the larger treatment room where I got to choose a chair. Before treatment, I was asked to remove my shoes and bring my pants legs above my knees. Whitney then placed the needles and I got to relax for ~45 min, although I was invited to stay for a full hour if I wanted. They are thorough with their covid practices and protocol, requiring everyone to be masked. The treatment space is shared with other patrons however the lounge chairs are vastly spaced out with a couple walls separating the room. All chairs are covered with clean white sheets that are changed between patients. I love that we get to make our own appointments at the frequency that feels most comfortable to us. And with the $20-$40 sliding scale cost, this means I can return multiple times throughout the week without hurting my pockets and still getting the care my body so greatly needs! 10/10 recommend!

Heartfelt Gratitude for Dr. Jennifer Olsen and Zen+Now Acupuncture…read more I can't say enough about how grateful I am for Dr. Jennifer Olsen and the care she gave me. Last year, when I was diagnosed with an issue called right fourth cranial nerve palsy, I felt frustrated by the symptoms that were affecting my daily life. Specifically, I was experiencing double vision and extreme dizziness. From the very first appointment, Jennifer expressed not only a deep knowledge of Eastern medicine, but genuine warmth and reassurance. Through a thoughtful combination of acupuncture, cupping, and Chinese herbal medicine, she guided me through a three-month healing process that made a profound difference. Week by week, I felt my symptoms easing and my sense of normalcy returning. I truly feel that her expertise in Eastern medicine, compassion to her clients, and strong dedication played a central role in the recovery I experienced. What sets Jennifer apart is the way she treats the whole person--she listens deeply, explains everything with patience, and creates an environment where you feel cared for, supported, and understood. Every session felt purposeful and grounded in her sincere commitment to helping me get better. And now, after almost a year beyond the initial treatment, I am still symptom free! I am deeply grateful for the improvement I've experienced under Jennifer's care. If you're looking for an acupuncturist who brings both exceptional skill and a truly compassionate heart to their work, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Jennifer Olsen. She has made a lasting difference in my life, and I cannot thank her enough.

His healing approach is very calming, pleasant, and gentle but very powerful. He has extensive knowledge, is consistent and confident with his skills. I went in to see Wesley due to a pain level of an 8-9 on the outside of my right knee whenever I would kneel on it for the last 4-6 months. On the first day of treatment, after a thorough assessment, Dr Wesley Zhang diagnosed that it was my IT Band. Once he determined that, he knew and identified the exact corresponding spot on my scalp which also had a pain level of a 9 when he pressed on it. By the time I left his office after the very first visit, the pain in my right knee went down to about a 2-3. Amazing! I've had about 3 treatments now for my knee and the pain on my scalp is gone, the knee pain has not returned and is now at a 1-2 when kneeling on it. I can tell over a short time the pain is gradually diminishing as I continue with the treatments. I recommend Wesley for personalized beneficial care!

Everywhere from schools like PCOM to ACTCM to practitioners in SF, NYC, San Diego, Santa Cruz, and Washington DC. They've been at various skill levels. Never in all that time have I seen one who broke down each service (needles, cupping, etc) into a separate billing code. Usually, it's one flat rate. Then, with herbs on top of the cost of a visit, my first visit was over $600! I've NEVER paid that much to see an acupuncturist. Mind you, it was a package + herbs, but the herbs alone were about $300. And the way things were packaged, it felt like you were pushed into a series of visits costing from $2000+, which, again, I've never experienced before. It felt very sketchy. That said, Wesley and Tian seem solid, and I did notice improvement after. But for someone who's unemployed and broke, this is a luxury. I went to someone else in town who was more reasonably priced. If you're a first-time visitor to their practice, be aware that it's costly, and they push you into packages.

It's my favorite new self care routine! The Meridian MASSAGE does all over your body trigger points I believe, and that really works well for reducing overall body pain and keeps me feeling more relaxed in general. I was prescribed lymphatic drainage massage by a physical therapist to treat a condition and I was happy to see that this could be added to my existing massage treatments. I truly believe that combining physical therapy (and now weight lifting) with regular acupuncture sessions helped me recover much faster than expected--so much so that even my surgeon was surprised by how well I healed post-surgery. Dr. Allen is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely listens to where you want the work focused. The nerve sensations and tightness in my arm have changed over time, and he has always adjusted each session to accommodate exactly what I needed that day. He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to get to know you--not just in terms of your recovery, but also how you're doing in life. He's an absolute pleasure to talk to. A couple of things to note: sessions aren't cheap ($85), but you're paying for his expertise and level of care, which I believe is well worth it. He also sees multiple patients at the same time, so there can be some delays past your appointment time--plan accordingly and allow some flexibility. I've recommended Dr. Allen to family members and friends, and they've all had positive experiences as well. If you're considering acupuncture, I highly recommend giving Blessed a try.

I had been struggling with extremely poor sleep, waking every one to two hours due to constant, intense numbness from my groin down to my thigh. At times, the discomfort felt even worse than the surgical site itself. Catherine explained that my circulation was not optimal and used acupuncture to help redirect blood flow. I noticed a difference right away. That same night, my sleep improved from one- to two-hour stretches to about three hours at a time. By the next night, I was able to sleep for five hours straight--the best rest I've had in weeks. The numbness also began to shift. Instead of staying concentrated in my groin and thigh, it moved toward the back of my thigh and eventually down to my calf, which is much more tolerable. While acupuncture hasn't completely cured my symptoms, it has made a meaningful difference in both my comfort and sleep.
