I have been seeing Dr. Cooley since my early 20's. They accept Kaiser insurance first off, which is big. Bruce is so efficient and impactful in his work compared to many I have seen. The masseuse employees are well versed in different styles to work on healing your body. Angel is the sweetest receptionist. I hadn't seen them in so long since transitioning, and they didn't even blink in the change and using my new name. Their kindness and service are why I came back when I needed it. Dr Cooley is the best. For 15+ years, he has helped me with all types of injuies and strains. Most recently, he has been helping me restore a post traumatic stiff elbow and related changes to my shoulder and back musculature. I have been going tk Dr Cooley off and on since I was in high school. I'm now 35, married and have a kid so that says a lot to me. Dr Cooley has always taken the time to listen about what's going on. During grad school, I was suffering from horrible headaches and I would come in for an adjustment and the next day, the headaches were gone! Most recently, I was rear ended and have pretty significant whiplash. I've been going in once or twice a week and Angel is so good about working around my teaching schedule and when I've been stuck in traffic, causing me to have to bring my baby, she happily watches her and keeps her entertained so I can get the treatment I need. She doesn't have to do this and it means the world to me that she does, which causes me to be less stressed. The massage therapists are wonderful and really focus on helping your body heal. Dr. Cooley is incredible! I've been taking my son to him since he was 3 weeks old because he was born with torticollis. Dr. Cooley has helped improve his neck mobility an incredible amount in a very short time. He's so patient and gentle with my son, and very knowledgeable. Additionally, his wife, Angel, is amazing. This was my first chiropractic session in my 31 years of life. I have insurance so among the list of doctors, Dr. Cooley's name popped up, and I said cool. Hehe. The office was fairly easy to find, I just had to bust a quick u-turn as I passed it by a little bit. There is a parking lot conveniently behind the office. I walked in, and was greeted by all the staff who were so kind. Ms. Angel had me fill out some quick paperwork as she checked my insurance. That took about 10 mins. I was escorted to a clean room with an awesome diagram of the body's muscles. I didn't get time to look at it thoroughly, as Dr. Cooley promptly entered the room. He was so knowledgeable! He basically gave me a short lecture about why my body is functioning in the way it does. Before he touched me he let me know what he was doing, and why. When he "read" my body he was so accurate. I didn't even really have to tell him what hurt, he just knew. Though I came in for a realignment, I left with knowledge, a more pliable body, and an appointment for next week for a deep tissue massage, and another realignment. How have I never done this before?! Great experience, and wonderful people. For sure give them a try. Enjoy! read more

I have always been skeptical of chiropractors because of the horror stories I have heard. Back in the early 2000's I suffered from lower back pain and my right hip would always ache after a few hours of being on my feet. In 2012 I finally decided it was time to get it checked out. Angel the attentive and gracious office manager, was so very kind and accommodating of my schedule. Dr. Bruce was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to me in depth so I would feel comfortable about whatever decision I chose. I decided to be adjusted and I am not kidding, my hip and lower back pain went away after all those years! He gave me a list of exercises so I could keep my back strong and avoid another trip back to his office. January 1st of this year I woke up and was unable to walk without extreme pain. I was in pure panic. My husband drove me straight to Dr. Bruce who immediately diagnosed me with a horrible case of Sciatica. Because he did not know why or what was pushing on that nerve he suggested a hot rock massage by Monique (the best therapist ever!) and then for me to go and get an MRI immediately. He explained it was not safe to adjust without seeing what was going on inside due to the fact I was unable to barely walk or stand up. I went straight in for an MRI where they actually found a cyst in-between my L4 and L5. My neurosurgeon was so impressed that Dr. Bruce was able to assess the situation and not just randomly start adjusting without knowing the full scope of my ailment. I just can't speak highly enough about this practice and the people who work there. They treat each patient with such kindness and care and Dr. Bruce is just so knowledgeable and informative. I feel like they have become family and I just don't know what I would have done without their help. I am forever grateful. read more

You know what stinks? Being in pain. You know what doesn't stink? Having an awesome chiropractor to go to when you're in pain! Seriously, this place saved the day...and my neck. After calling several places for an emergency appointment, I was down on my luck. However Catherine H. raved on and on about the miracles this places produces, so naturally I gave them a ring. They were able to fit me in that afternoon. Angel, the office manager, never hesitates to do what they can to help accommodate my busy schedule. It's a courtesy that I greatly appreciate. She's such a joy to be greeted and helped by! Dr. Bruce is really good about listening to what you need, and what's bothering you. You know those dumb chiropractors that try to force you into appointments saying "you must see me 4 times a week?" Yeah, Dr. Bruce ISN'T one of those guys. He educates you on what will help you in your process of recovery, but doesn't force it. He gives you the tools and care you need, then holds you responsible for your own care decisions. Sounds silly, but when you've had the opposite, it makes a difference. Speaking of making a difference: the massage therapists here are fabulous. The best 30 minute massages ever. This office was recommended to me but I think I should have done more research and not just go here like I did!!! Upon my first phone call I spoke w Angel who seemed very stand offish!!! Made my first appt back in April - met the doctor and I didn't even knw his name at first - I'm not sure if I'm frustrated the doctor was quick in his treatment plan or that each office visit I went to I had to see Angel who didn't look up or say anything like hi can I help you? She just looks at her computer or brings her small dog who growls at ppl her dog is not fond of. I dealt with it but it got to the point I didn't want to go there anymore so contacted another chiropractor whom I adored bcos his explanations of my back problems & treatment plans were informative and precise only problem is he's only available on days I'm off and his office is on the other side of town. I called Progressive and spoke w/Angel and told her how unprofessional she is and her customer service skills needed to be looked at bcos it sucked! She responded I didn't knw that! No attempts to want to change oh wait she did say hi to me maybe 2 times afterwards but then went back to the same attitude and behavior!!! It always makes a big difference if support staff makes eye contact, is kind, friendly and accommodating when patients/clients enter the office but sad to say Angel didn't possess these qualities (maybe to long time clients but I sure didn't experience it when I went!!!) Well I'll stop my treatments with this office bcos I'm at a point I'd rather struggle w/my back pain then deal with a person like Angel!!! I'm hoping to research an office with open hours fit to my schedule and better office staff to talk to. * In response to ur reply to my review on 9.22.18 I did maintain my appts and would call if I'm running late or won't be able to make it so pls don't throw that "u didn't call card" bcos that's not true!!!! These folks are immensely helpful, and have always gotten me in for an emergency adjustment when necessary. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. While you're waiting to see the Doctor, they'll let you get "warmed up" by sitting in their swedish massage chairs (like they have in the Brookstone store at the mall) and it's great for relaxing while you're filling out paperwork. The doctor was friendly, helpful, and prompt. He straightened me right up and I couldn't believe how much better I felt afterwards. Highly recommended! read more

This is a very professional clean place. I love here for a plethora of reasons. First let's talk about the schedule: i can get an adjustment after work hours. They are open until six! Amazing! Then they are open on Saturdays!!! Astronomical!!!!! Next they accept Kaiser which is really hard to find!!! They won me there! Also it has lovely massage chairs that you can sit in while you wait. The wait isn't very long. A lot of people goes here so that's a plus. The chiropractor is well studied and so are the massage therapists. I love it! read more

I have been a patron of this business for many years now, probably about 8, and that says a lot. I first became a client after a car accident and sought out chiropractic care for whiplash, for which I gratefully say I recovered nicely. Dr. Bruce Cooley and his office manager (and wife) Angel are always friendly, upbeat and helpful. I have gone into the office on short notice a few times due to a pinched nerve, muscle spasms, or just general back pain and they have always squeezed me in when needed. Another great perk of this business is that they offer on-site massage therapy appointments, for a very reasonable price, to coincide with your visit to the Dr. for an adjustment. (Don't forget to tip your masseuse) In the past I suffered from frequent headaches and since I've been seeing Dr. Cooley and his massage therapist staff I have experienced far fewer headaches and the ones I've had are far less severe. Dr. Cooley has also worked on my son, who has also gotten frequent headaches in the past, and he has greatly improved as well and now rarely gets headaches. I would recommend this business to anyone and have! Tell them I referred you. Dr. Cooley and his practice are great, and even though I've lived out of town the last couple of years, I keep coming back. I've tried several other chiropractors closer to me and I always return to Progressive! He's one of the best for sure!! And they have some of the best massage therapists around - consistently!! A real bonus to the practice is that Dr. Cooley works with the MT's to be sure they target the problem areas. And if you can't get in to MT, but are having a flare, well lucky you. He may do some therapy on you himself and it has always been exceptional. I've seen him after car accidents, after ill-fated attempts at jogging, and even for pain below my sternum that made it hurt to drink water! Weird right?? Well he fixed it. Oh - and he only sees you when you need it. I've been fine to go a month or so between adjustments, to a couple times a week if I've gotten out of whack! And Angel is great to. Been going to Dr.Cooley for 10 + years. Always able to fit me in on the fly! Angel, his wife and office manager, always tries to accommodate my schedule. I also appreciate that Dr.Cooley listens, and takes a "whole view" of what your body (nutrition/exercise)is doing, not endless manipulations. I went here when my back was thrown out and used the Yelp $49 deal which included massage. While the massage was wonderful, I happened to be the last patient in the office, and as a brand new patient, I was very surprised at how I was treated. His bedside manner was as if he was irritated I was there, much less about my specific problem and history. He was literally in to see me for two minutes. Didn't have a chart, or take any time to diagnose me and figure out which vertebrae were needing adjustment, all he did was tell me to lay on the bench on my side, and he ROUGHLY adjusted me on both sides and then when I was on my stomach. Let me tell you....he made it worse!!!!! After my visit my pain soared and then started burning, and now, I have never previously had hip pain or problems, but now they hurt constantly, and it keeps me awake all night because I am a side sleeper and the pain wakes me up at night causing me to toss and turn in pain all night! I went to a better chiropractor (A to Z) and he did a superb job, but my hips seem to be permanently damaged!?! So unprofessional , and so rough, don't waste your money here!!!! read more

On Jan 1st 2016 I had a snow accident in Tahoe, 2 days later I'm in excruciating pain unable to sit for more than 5 minutes at a time. After various visits to my MD and undiagnosed cause of pain, my MD finally ordered an MRI . Finally middle of Feb, the findings revealed what I suspected a herniated disk L4& L5. After being placed on oral steroids and 3 caudal injections later, not much relief. Jan 2017 was wheeled to the ER from my clinic because I was unable to walk. Another MRI confirmed what I feared the herniated disk was worse and the surgery discussion with my spine MD was inevitable. My father highly recommended me Dr.Cooley, after he had been seen him for an accident of his own. So I decided to give it shot, I walked in and Dr.C examined me and was very honest, he did not recommend any manipulation or alignment. After just one visit with him I took different path on PT and Detox diet to relief the swelling in my disk, 3 weeks into the plan I am finally pain free!! I have my life back! I Never stopped working thank god but it was really hard emotionally and physically to work through all of this. Ever case is different of course I'm just glad he worked out for me. read more

I have massive damage to my neck and back, 5 car accidents, motorcycle accident and getting dumped off a forklift from 20 feet up landing on the corner of a box in the middle of my back. I've tried everything from acupuncture to chiropractic and no one was able to give me relief. Dr. Cooley is absolutely fantastic. He does not do cookie cutter chiro, meaning he does the same thing to everyone no matter what their issue. He actually listens to you and will only give an adjustment in the area needed. Angel is the best! She's always willing to work with me with my schedule so I can be seen. She's kind, thoughtful, caring and always willing to help. I've seen every massage therapist in the office and every single one of them is amazing. There will be a person with the style of massage that works best for you. This is the only office I know of that uses on premises massage to help relax those muscles which makes an adjustment much easier. This review is long over due... LOVE them. You get a massage before the chiropractic treatment (Besides the massage chairs in the waiting room). Its always clean, and the entire staff is friendly, upbeat and genuinely cares about you. I am really bad about waiting until I'm in pain & in serious need of a treatment... but Angel always will find a way to fit me into an appt, so I won't have to suffer. They're prices are more than reasonable (cash patient), and they do take a variety of insurances. He keeps up to date on chiropractic and many other subjects related to physical and mental health. His fees are quite reasonable as are the fees for massage for those need them or just enjoy them.
