Everything was delicious! Service was great and we didn't have to wait long for our food.

This was our second visit here, the first time back in '17. We were offered outdoor seating, and we took it because the weather was wonderful. However, I don't believe the service was as efficient as last time when we sat indoors, though our multiple servers were friendly and professional. The wine list appears very good (we don't know Portuguese wines), and we had 2 bottles of white wine that we were very pleased with. We started with the clams, and comparing them to those we had 2 days earlier in Navarre, I came away non-plussed by their flavor. We split a Caesar salad that was tasty. For dinner, my wife had the black pork w/ asparagus risotto. She felt the pork was on the dry side, but loved the risotto. I had the bacalhau à brás, and it was outstanding. This simple dish of cod, egg, onions, and potatoes just hits home for me. We finished the meal w/ crème brûlée--excellent. Cheers! RS

I set up dinner here for a large business group. Would return here again. It was requested that we dine here based on a previous experience others had, and this was the first time I was here. Due to the large size of the group, I had the salads and desserts preset and everyone chose their own entrees. I only had their monkfish entree, which included clams and rice. It was recommended to me by a local. Not something I would typically order, it was good. Everyone told me they liked their food and those who had wine said it was a very good selection. A beautiful space and definitely old bones with new lighting and a great ambiance. With all of the customers, it can get really loud due to the concrete and stone so I wouldn't plan a romantic dinner here. The service was good for such a large group of people. They never brought my soda, even after being asked for it in Portuguese too, and telling me the third time it was on its way. One of the servers thought he was funny making us all jump at one point when he pounded a stool into the floor so loudly it stopped all conversation at surrounding tables for three seconds - why was that necessary?

Half of the incredible octopus entree with perfectly tender potatoes and creamed spinach. Separated onto two plates for sharing.

I was a little worried that this place would be all show when I walked in and saw the spectacular historic space lit up with large swaths of red and purple. But there was no need to worry. This was, hands down, the best dinner I had during my stay in Lisbon. The seafood was divine, the service friendly and attentive, and the overall experience lovely. We started with the house starter, a few pieces of baguette, wheat bread, and the popular Portuguese corn bread with a nice vegetal olive oil, and chicken liver pate, which was silky, tasty, and divine. Next, we had the garlicky clam appetizer, which is a little hot skillet filled with tiny, meaty, briny, fresh clams served in a delicious garlicky and herbed olive oil. I kept taking pieces of bread and not just dunking them in the incredible sauce, but pouring it on the bread to make sure it was as fully soaked as possible. Because drinking the sauce was a tad too out of line, even for me. On to the entrees. We came here because a friend recommended the octopus as the best, most tender he'd ever had even after years living in octopus-obsessed countries. And it was amazingly tender, just lovely with a bed of creamed spinach and potatoes. Also scrumptious was the rice smothered in Portuguese shrimp curry, which had a lovely coconut milk broth, the brininess of the shrimp, and nicely spiced, albeit not spicy. All of the meal paired quite well with a light effervescent vinho verde, which was the best I had in Lisbon. The wait staff was always helpful, without being overbearing, good-natured, and friendly. The hostess offered to take my small bag of random gifts I'd picked up shopping around the city, and give it back to me after the meal. As soon as I left the table, she stood standing with a huge smile by the exit. I barely remembered I had left anything with her. She really went above and beyond, as did the restaurant throughout our meal. It was only around 50 euros for a bottle of wine, two entrees, and our appetizer and small house starter, and we were stuffed to the gills! I'd highly recommend this spot.

First day is Lisbon and looking for lunch. Came across Sacramento and decided to give it a try. We were the only ones in the restaurant and we were able to relax and enjoy our drinks and meals. I had the salmon which was really good and I enjoyed it. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal as well along with 2 rounds of drinks. The drinks were well made. We enjoyed our time there and never felt rushed. The waitress was very nice.

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

It's rotisserie chicken doused with a spicy hot sauce so what's not to like? I knew it was a Portuguese-originated dish, so I looked for a place famous for it. Here on a Sunday evening, there was quite a queue extending up the cobblestone alley, so I realized this must be the place. Although it was at least thirty people deep, it didn't take more than twenty minutes for Jamie W and me to secure a table upstairs. It was a homestyle dining room set-up that hovered between cozy and crowded depending on the fluctuating volume level. Interestingly all the servers were male, and while ours was the most junior, he consciously followed the behavior of his veteran brethren. There was no question about our main course, the 13,5€ Frango Assado No Espeto (Roast Chicken on the Spit) (Photo 7). It was tender and succulent enough albeit a bit under seasoned, all the more reason to pour a liberal dose of the piri piri sauce (Photo 8). Our sides were simple but shareable, the 3,2€ Batata Fritta (French Fries) (Photo 9) and the 4,3€ Salada Mista (Mixed Salad) (Photo 10). Both were fine, though we really wanted to try their Cream Spinach. They were already out of it in the kitchen. We were quite satisfied nonetheless, and their service pretty much worked like clockwork.
