This restaurant was recommended by our tour guides and we were not disappointed after we dined here. The price was very reasonable. My husband had the the grilled octopus which was so tender. I had the grilled Tuna steak which was not the same type of tuna I am use to from the Gulf Coast of Mexico but was excellent. The only complaint I would have about this restaurant would be, we did not have reservations. They sent us to the bar which is a very unique to wait for a table. After we order our drinks, our table was ready. If you don't like to have a cocktail before dinner, make sure you have a reservation although my husband throughly enjoyed his Manhattan. read more

Beautiful, relax and friendly restaurant for lunch. They have buffet and a la carte dishes. €14/ person for lunch buffet and one free drink: beer, water or juice. Portuguese disk of Bake rice with duck is tasty, too. But Be aware of strong goat cheese. If you do not like goat cheese, you may ask them to change to different cheese. We were here for lunch. They have some long table for huge group of 20,25 people. Siting on upstairs if better because you can have better view and quieter. But it is suitable for a la carte customer only. I had dinner with my team at the restaurant. We were 22 people and the restaurant allocated 1 server. The service was terrible and the servers attitude is atrocious. Food was tasty. But it is not good constituted compared to many other restaurants. Lisbon has wonderful restaurants. We had dinner at Monte Ma restaurant in Cascias and Solar Dos Presuntos restaurant. ​​I've visited Lisbon ​several times over the past 10 years, and I've been to Sacramento ​almost every time, and my opinion has changed ​somewhat, unfortunately not for the best. When it first came into the dining scene in Lisbon I was very pleasantly surprised and greatly enjoyed their modern takes on Portuguese food. Fast forward several years, Lisbon has become a hotter tourist destination, and many new solid choices have popped up.​​​​ ​After my latest visit their food ​now ​seems uninspired, tourist oriented​ ​(i.e. non repeat customer)​, and ​with sloppy execution. Their menu has not changed at all in years (seriously?), the clientelle is exclusively ​tourists​ (bad sign)​, and it was a very forgettable dining experience. ​On my last visit ​I ordered two fish dishes, and they both came with the same extremely boring and bland side salad. The tuna tartare had large rocks of salt that you crushed while chewing​,​ and weren't pleasant at all, my partner's beef dish was overcooked​ and​ mushy, their starter (eggs with alheira, once one of my favorites) also tasted like a gooey scrambled mess. I enjoyed my earlier lunch much more at a no frills traditional Portuguese restaurant, that wasn't trying at all to be original or fancy, and served me plain fried codfish, greasy fries and all, which was frankly ​much more ​fun and tasty. This to say, Sacramento feels these days as the same record on replay ​since ​forever, with declining quality, catering to a passing crowd. I used to recommend it to anyone visiting Lisbon, but it no longer makes my recommendation​ list​, and I don't think I'll be back. You'll have a more interesting experience just going for something more genuine (and cheap) at any hole in the wall in ​Bairro ​Alto. read more

Well, first let me say that my husband and I are well traveled foodies and wineauxs, We LOVE good food and wine, and we love experiencing the very best of the local experience in wine and food where ever we roam. Our concierge at the Marriott in Lisboa, Daniel, recommended "Sacramento" and made the initial reservation for us. He went on and on about how this is where he takes his wife, and told us of the specific desserts they enjoy. Cynicism due to other concierge (on other travels) who recommend mediocre places because they have some kind of arrangement with them, caused me to graciously accept Daniel's recommendation and effort on our behalf, but do my own research as well. The reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp were excellent, and we decided to take the plunge. We have been all over the world: the best restaurants (to name a few places) in New York, Paris, Prague, Barcelona, Seville, Buenos Aires, San Francisco, Chicago, and I am having a difficult time thinking of a better experience. The moment you walk in, you are enveloped by the tasteful but relaxed décor. The "boss" as I later learned, Fernando, greeted us at the door, and immediately helped us feel completely at ease. He checked on us throughout the night, and was entirely lovely each and every time. We were fortunate enough to have the lovely and efficient Mathilde as our server, and she was engaging, flexible, gave her opinion when asked, was very efficient (she had a number of other tables, as did all of the other servers), and we all looked forward to her return to our table. To our relief (due to her perfect English), she carefully listened to our like and dislikes, and worked to make our dining experience exemplary. Thank you, Mathilde. The food was extraordinary, and at the risking of sounding corny, seemed to have been prepared with LOVE. I thank the chef for his/her caring and effort, and for the efforts of the additional sous chef and other kitchen staff who made this experience happen for this little, inconsequential table of three middle-aged travelers from America. We all had steaks, and they were delectable, as were the desserts that followed. I recommend ALL of the desserts, but we enjoyed the white chocolate dipped and stuffed strawberries, the pear crumble, and the Crème Brule. Truly a delight. My husband and I have experienced so many restaurants, and please let me say with all sincerity: this place is extraordinary in every way - very chic, but NEVER pretentious. It is very accessible and friendly. Their staff are caring people, and quite savvy and expert in their pursuit of excellence. I just have to say to future travelers to Lisboa (Lisbon) - GO THERE! read more

Our hotel Sheraton Lisboa recommended this restaurant to us so we booked a dinner. We got their early, and was told that it's gonna be 10 minutes wait. We waited at the bar and was recommended there house wine which wss quite good and came in a very reasonable price. When we seated at the table, the waiter was attentive. The food was good for the price. But we still need to get used to the cover charge in this country, but hey, when you are in Rome.... We would be back to restaurant if we get a chance to be back in the city. read more

Our hotel concierge recommended Sacramento as a modern Portuguese food dinner option during our November 4 day/4 night stay in Lisbon. We made reservations through our hotel and were greeted warmly by the host upon our arrival. We opted for drinks in the bar before we were seated for dinner and the bartender suggested that we start with local sparkling wine, which was very good. The bar was dark and cozy- and larger than it would appear from the exterior of the building. Both the host and bartender checked on us a few times to see if we were enjoying our wine, indicated that there was no rush to seat us and asked for us to just let them know whenever we were ready for dinner. Once we finished our drinks and were ready to eat, we were seated at a two person table against a wall in their main dining room. The location was good in terms of being able to appreciate the oversized red lamps that fill the space with rosy lighting, but I felt like we had intruded on the dinner of the French couple seated very closely next to us. Despite the somewhat cramped location, our friendly server seemed to manage it well and the subsequent food and drinks were served without too much awkwardness. Their bread comes with a seafood guacamole, which was just ok- I actually preferred the regular olive oil. My husband and I shared the garlic shrimp as a starter, which was solid but nothing special. The real winners from this restaurant outside of the service and ambience were our entrees. I ordered the duck rice and my husband ordered the wrapped steak filet. My dish had a shredded duck fried rice as well as a side of duck. The rice was topped with a baked mini-wheel of goat cheese...the whole meal was seasoned well and was the most delicious combination of their staples (meat, cheese and starch) that I encountered during our 2 weeks in Portugal & Spain. My husband raved about his perfectly cooked filet wrapped with cheese and asparagus. My husband also ordered a caipirinha during dinner (it was made kind of like a snow cone or shave ice by the Brazilian bartender) and I had a lovely red from Herdade do Esporao, which we had visited for wine tasting earlier in our trip. We were too full for dessert, but agreed to return once more dinner before we left Lisbon (I needed more duck rice!). The payment of the meal was interesting in that we tried to use my credit card (MC), but their system only accepts some cards and not others...and my card was apparently one that was not compatible with their system. They were very apologetic as it was their issue but asked that we pay cash- luckily we scraped together enough Euros to cover our meal and tip. We saw at least one other table go through the same thing of their card not being compatible with their system, so it was kind of strange since we did not experience this anywhere else during our trip. Our second meal a few nights later went much the same as the first, except that when we arrived and the host welcomed us back, we expressed our concern about the credit card situation as this time we were going to try and pay with my husband's Visa to see if that would work. The host was very understanding and said that if our other card did not work, then he would go through our hotel to just cover our meal under our hotel bill- which was good to know upfront. However, my husband's Visa worked just fine. We tried a different starter (the cheese and meat plate- very yummy) and my husband opted for a fish dish this time, which he also thought was excellent. The duck rice was just as awesome the second time! Overall, Sacramento's service, dinner entrees and ambience made our meals here some of the most memorable during our trip. A highly recommended spot, so I made a reservation and showed up on time at 7PM. Very gracious hostess greeted us and conversed for a few minutes then suggested a bar cocktail. The kitchen was ready although most people don't start dinner for at least another half hour to 45. I ordered a Manhattan and was very pleasantly surprised to find a cocktail equal to the Manhattan I recently had at Tavern on the Green in new york/manhatten/central park.. Martinho was the bartender at sacramento and he knows how to make a Manhattan !! We enjoyed our drink and got seated as the crowds started arriving. Very cool, classy place. Traditional Portuguese menu but with some familiar ingredients (tiger prawns, curry, lamb, and salmon), so was good for some vacationing Yanks. Received recommendation from our concierge...and he did us right. We were able to get a table for 2 at 8 PM on a Thursday night (as walk-ins). We waited about 20 minutes in the bar and had a beer and a great glass of Portuguese red. My wife had seafood stew and I had the Iberian pork. Both were outstanding. After reading reviews about this restaurant I really wanted to try it. We arrived on 10/23/16 at 7:05pm when they first opened and asked if we were able to get a seat for 2 for dinner. The host said yes since they have a few tables available and it was early but to wait at the bar area so he can seat the people before us. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks while he sat everyone else that was waiting at the bar. 20 minutes has passed, everyone has been seated but he still does not come for us. In the next 20 minutes many more people arrive at the host table, some with reservations and some without reservations and he sits them quickly. It was really disheartening that he never came back to try to seat us but simply just left us there to wait 40 minutes to get a table after he said that we'd be able to dine there without reservations. We decided to just pay our bar bill and leave. So, when we went up to him to pay he just said "you want your table right?" Of course we did...why else would we have waited for 40 minutes?! Came here for lunch, which we found out to be buffet-style. We arrived around 2:30pm, so the food had a legitimate excuse to be cold, but I still wish the kitchen could have provided some freshly cooked (or at least warm) food even in the afternoon. Lovely restaurant with beautiful ambiance with overall wonderful food and presentation but the worst service we've had in Lisbon. Perhaps because we were on the second floor and/or were 4 women? Felt ignored from the moment we were seated. We sat for 20 minutes before anyone came over to provide menus and then had to ask for a wine list. Over an hour before our appetizers arrived - the Roquefort salad and local cheese. Delicious though only 3 thin slices of crispy bread with the cheese. They did refresh the delicious breads often. But then an incredibly long wait for our entrees - nearly 2 hours after we arrived. Cod filet with cornbread with simple spinach and potatoes was perfect as was the chicken with sausage stuffing and the salmon. Angus steak was very disappointing - a flank steak cut of meat - chewy and very salty. Though waitress was patient with our menu questions, she disappeared for long periods and never stopped by to ask if all was ok or to refresh our water. Pear cobbler was nicely prepared though chocolate mousse was a bit heavy and fudgy for my taste. Wine was reasonably priced and nice. Then discovered they had billed us for an extra dessert item - the one that they had run out of. So though food was overall excellent, what should have been a lovely meal was nearly ruined by the long and nearly non-existent service. read more
