I would have given them 5 stars until I saw my REAL wood dining room table broken and he didn't tell me. He said he would come fix it but told me "when I removed the legs the wood just crumble" which is a lie. No plywood REAL woodwork. $650 flat rate was good for a 4BR house but it was all packed all they had to do was move it. Too many workers for one move. 4 -5 people moving things and stuff gets mixed up. Items had to be taken back to the truck that were going to storage. Like I said $650 was incredible or a four bedroom house but the cons of them breaking your furniture and not paying for it or fixing it or even telling you what happened until you ask about it and then lie about it when it's very expensive furniture I was upsetting. read more

If you're thinking of using these guys just stop, go douse your stuff in gasoline and light it on fire. It will save you some time and trouble. They packed my house for me incredibly slowly. Many of my items including book shelves and cabinets arrived broken. The real problem was that they packed my lawn mower on top of my mattress so my mattress got soaked in gasoline. Apparently the movers had asked my hired driver if it was OK to do that and they said he had said it was OK (the driver says he never said such a thing). I guess it makes sense to ask the driver instead of me. I hired and paid the movers but I'm I'm woman so I guess I can't make decisions about things like lawn mowers? Better to ask the hired help to make decisions about my belongings. So they are sexist too. When I told the owner about my gasoline soaked mattress, he offered to reimburse me 10 percent of the damages which is unfair and insulting. What is the point in hiring an insured company when they don't cover damages? Not only are they expensive but they are slow and do a poor job. Continue your search for movers. Don't hire these guys. read more

I am going to begin with an annoying phrase: I don't usually do reviews. However, this was a very important review for me to document. When I was shopping for movers, I came to YELP for some assistance. I came across Sac Area Movers and sent them an email requesting a move date that was one week out (the weekend of the Superbowl). Ali responded to me IMMEDIATELY. When we spoke, he requested a time to do a preliminary walk through to get an idea of what I was moving. When he stopped by, he was more than a perfect gentleman. On moving day, Ali arrived on time with another mover (who was very sweet, but I cannot remember his name). They were able to get all of my belongings in the truck in under two hours, which was awesome. When we arrived at my new destination, they had the same level of urgency to unload everything as well. I contacted a few moving companies and Ali got back to me within minutes of sending out a request for services. He was readily available to answer questions and able to schedule my move within a week. There were a few hiccups with the move including one of Ali's employees showing up later than expected. However, even by himself Ali got the job done very quickly and still fell well within the time expected to complete the job. I was not charged any more than the initial quote and after getting multiple quotes, the price charged was competitive and fair. Ali came to give me a quote, it was twice what I expected so I ended up packing and taking apart the hutch and headboard. But the worst was when they didn't show up. I highly recommend Sac Area Movers. Ali was very fast responding to my yelp inquiry and providing a quote. He and 2 other guys showed up as scheduled. Moved from a 2 story condo to a 1 story house. They brought stirrup tools for the heavy, awkward items (like our king size tempurpedic mattress) which helped them move fast. They were careful with our items and wrapped and padded everything. Because I was heading from Norcal to SoCal and didn't have a place picked out yet, t made the decision to do one of those pod storage moves instead. It was a good idea but the wrench is that it meant I needed to move all my stuff from the 3rd floor of a loft, down through a parking lot, through four doors and into the pod. That's where dream team came in. They could not have been more professional, more courteous and, quite frankly, REALLY affordable. Seriously. Their quote was significantly less than the competition. And they took excellent care of my stuff as they went. They were more conceded about the possibilities of scratches on things than I was. I contacted many moving companies (at least 6) and rather then bad mouthing them, allow me to write why I chose Ali's company, Dream Team Moving (a.k.a Sac Area Movers). First and foremost, Ali is extremely professional and actively listens to you. He even suggests ways to keep your cost down. Who does that? When they arrived for the actual move, they toured my two story Folsom home and assessed the positioning on the truck to keep things from scratching or breaking. They sized up the doorways carefully and removed all of our contents while never touching the walls or accidentally scratching the furniture. They treated all our packed boxes as if they contained breakables. Ali's team, took apart several bed frames and meticulously put them together at our new home. I asked Ali to drop off a couch and refrigerator at another location and he had absolutely no problem doing that. Once all was unloaded at our new place, they thanked us for their business. I moved from Sacramento to Campbell in June and they were great! They were fast, professional and reasonably priced. I cannot say enough about how prompt, professional and efficient they were. Unfortunately, my landlord/owner of the building Myriam "Mimi" Lonaker is a con woman and took my $3500 but didn't do the work needed to make my apartment habitable. After two months of hell living her I made the decision to move (my mother is also dying so the fact that this woman did this is even more deplorable).
