    Monument Valley Trail Ride

We had a ride with Zeke and Ty as our guides and it was fun. They shared a lot of interesting facts along the way and we enjoyed the conversation. The ride started on time, we liked our horses and were done on time. Thanks guys!!

I had a great tour with Logan on Saturday March 16th. We decided on an evening tour from 5-7pm so that we might enjoy the Golden hour. It was really beautiful out at that time and not too cold yet. Logan was great. Very laid back and had useful information about the formations around us and the land we were traveling on. He has been riding since he was 6 years old and I was very impressed that he rode essentially bare back (only on a small blanket)! My horse bandit, was sweet but clearly tired from a long day of giving tours. I did not mind because I was tired too and hadn't been horseback riding since I was a child. He was a great horse for a beginner. My friend and I ended up on this "group" tour by ourselves, which was a nice surprise. I think because it is still winter and essentially their low season, there weren't many other riders. This 2-hour horseback riding tour was the highlight of our trip to Monument Valley.

The back country jeep tour was awesome with an awesome guide. The petroglyphs, Arcs, caves, and massive rock formations were amazing! The guide was good and very knowledgeable as well. Plus you can hike a bit in the back country too! The yellow rubicon did well too!

I was looking for a sunrise horse tour and none of the other tour operators would respond back to even schedule something. I found Sacred Monuments website to be very professional so I asked them if it was doable as their time slots would have been too late. I got a response within hours saying no problem! Fast forward a few months, we show up to the hut in the Tribal Center parking lot and someone came and picked us up right on time in a Jeep. Every single person we interacted with was awesome. Our guide Dub was informative! Our horses Eckert and Sideburns were awesome, I felt at ease the entire time. 1000% would recommend going with these guys over the others. I still haven't heard back from the 2 other tour operators, and Im glad I didn't.

I am a Utah native now living back east and have visited all of the Big Five but never Monument Valley. I have wanted to visit for many years and finally did it. Our guide was Tony he raised broken-field driving to a new level. The drive up and back to and back from the mesa was an experience my son and I will never forget, as I'm sure anybody who has done it will agree. Once we were on-site at the mesa, Tony dropped us off at sunset point and came back later to take us to the campsite. He then prepared a great dinner and regaled us with stories of Navajo culture and legends. The next morning, he walked us the sunrise point for more photographs. As we are both photographers, everything about Monument Valley was astounding but Hunt's Mesa is in a class by itself. We have never seen such incredible landscapes and hopefully captured it with our cameras. Tony was a major element in the success of this trip; he has professional, competent, knowledgeable and friendly. We believe he went out of his way to show us his home. We cannot say enough good things about him and highly recommend Monument Valley Safari!

Our guide, Shawn Holiday, was simply the best of the best. His knowledge of history and geology brought the land to life in a way I'll never forget. He didn't just guide us--he immersed us in the experience. From sharing stories and cultural insights to playing the flute in the canyon, every moment felt meaningful and authentic. Shawn also had an incredible eye for photography. He took us to breathtaking locations and helped capture some of the most unforgettable photos our family will ever have. Traveling with my wife and two daughters, I couldn't have asked for a better guide--he was thoughtful, polite, and deeply respectful as he shared Navajo customs and traditions with us. The beauty of this place is beyond words--you truly have to see it to believe it. Being there also gave me a deeper appreciation for the rich history of the Indigenous people who lived in harmony with this land, trading far and wide and honoring nature as one. That spirit is still present, and it's something that deserves respect and recognition. I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced this tour with Shawn. It's something I will carry with me forever. I hope to see continued opportunities and prosperity for the Navajo people in the future--they are the true stewards of this land, and their culture is something the world can learn so much from. If you're considering this tour--don't hesitate. It's unforgettable.

Navajo Spirit Tours offers absolutely top-notch tours of Monument Valley. Our tour guide, Mr. Will…read moreCowboy, was much more than a guide; he's a Navajo cultural educator, historian, excellent navigator of deeply rutted dirt roads, and patient answerer of questions. Not only that, he's a musician; he sang a Navajo song to us to wish us a safe journey while we were in the "Big Hogan" (a large ampitheater size space created by natural erosion and with great acoustics). His passion for his people and his culture truly left a mark on our consciousness that will never be forgotten. Of course, the scenery was also truly stunning. The driving itself was extremely bumpy but I'd say it's like getting an amusement park ride thrown in for free. We were also treated to a demonstration of Navajo arts and crafts by Loretta in her hogan, truly a special moment. Taking a Navajo Spirit tour couldn't be easier and the staff was very responsive to my questions about booking. This is a must-see activity if you're in the area. I can't wait to go back.

The first full day we toured Monument Valley from before sunrise until after sunset, going to various points of interest. I was exhausted but got some incredible shots! The next day two friends and I left with Ray to go on an overnight trip up to Hunts Mesa to shoot sunset and sunrise pictures of Monument Valley from that point of view. Not only did Ray put us in some amazing locations, but the food that he made, both dinner and breakfast were wonderful. I really can't recommend Ray Begay more highly. Today we elected to do a guided tour so we could see areas closed unless you have a guide. We were particularly interested in learning more about Navajo Culture. Our guide Amory was great. He interspersed bits and pieces of his own experiences with details of Navajo history and practices. We learned of the days of his youth - herding sheep and goats, as well as tales of how the Navajo people communicate their culture and values to children. He has a great eye for photogenic opportunities and taught us some clever tricks to use with our iPhones. The front of the park, where you can do a self guided tour is phenomenal. You can easily spend four to eight hours taking in the unique geological formations. But, you can't see some of the truly amazing sites deeper in the park unless you hire a guide. (I'll attach photos of Big Hogan, Ear of the Gods, and a few other spots only viewable with a guide.)
