Evans would have said: dy-no-mite! So, if you're not ready to become a member, you'll feel a warm welcome when you attend the jaw droppingly low-cost hatha yoga classes; the Love Offerings, which include meditations and talks; the fun dances, artistic events, and workshops; and the delicious Sunday lunches (entree, juice, and dessert). If you're looking for a more immersive and spiritual experience, I can attest that becoming a member (receiving my mantra) has made a significant and transformational difference in all aspects of my life. For those of you with practical concerns: my elderly relative (83) recently joined and told me that it has helped with her insomnia, too. (This place is for young and old; children meditate and there are hatha yoga classes for kids on Sundays, too.) You can also book virtual classes through the app which are just $1, so if you've moved away but miss the area, you can always tap in through there. I've taken the vinyasa classes, and due to Covid, it's a bring your own mat kind of deal (which may change in the future) The studio is kept clean and there isn't too much noise from the apartment above. Every instructor I've had has been good- they take their time, explain poses, provide modifications and come around and help when working on some higher level positions.

The pace of the class was well timed with spurts of work followed by enough breaks to recharge and start the next section of class. The class was a mix of lightweight training and Pilates movements that worked every part of my body. I walked out of class feeling accomplished and ready to take on the day. Classes here are pricey, but worth the investment in my opinion if you're planning to come here on a regular basis. I don't remember the instructors name, but I liked him and how he led us in our yoga practice. Also, he came over to help physically adjust me while doing one of the poses. I'm totally fine with this (I actually prefer it), but I do want to point out that he didn't ask permission ahead of time. Again, not at all an issue for me! But if you're someone who doesn't like being adjusted by yoga instructors, you might want to bring that up privately before class starts. I will definitely be back!!! Tip: the yoga studio is on the second floor. The door is actually located on 33rd street. Find it then press the button and they'll unlock the door for you.
