I started going to this studio earlier this year and I really loved how I was treated by the staff and the instructors. In particular, I loved the classes with Jennifer A., Sandy T., and Jen S. Instructors were very helpful and non-judgmental, and I always felt pretty good after every class I attended here. The studio is a little tight, and it can be difficult to get into certain classes, so I do recommend booking ahead of time. Had I not moved out of the area, I would still be going to classes here, but now I'm in a different part of Queens entirely. Would definitely recommend this studio to those in this part of Queens who are interested in taking yoga or pilates classes. read more

I was in search for a studio that is close to where I reside, thanks to Google, I found 2nd Story.! The class I took were all amazing. The sense of community between teachers and the regulars is palpable. They offer community classes and free classes for first time students. I hope they will offer early and late class on days they don't. A great spot to stretch and strengthen one's practice. read more

A relatively new Yoga studio in Jackson Heights that I started to visit quite frequently and haven't gone back for months. It's no one's fault but my own. I love the class size and teachers. Unlike many other studios, it's hipster-free and non-intimidating. However the schedule is inconvenient to mine. And I wish there was more variety in classes. The instructors (special shouts to Xiomi, Kay, and Jenn) are all a bright lights. The classmates are also generally wonderful folks. All in all, this is truly a community gem. I don't use community lightly (being rooted in community work) but I'm using it accurately as 2nd Story has classes for in Spanish, has some classes at a sliding fee, and clearly makes language and physical ability a consideration in their programming. My only critique is something beyond there control and endemic to NYC: their studio, like many spaces, isn't accessible to folks who are in wheelchairs as there is no elevator. I believe this is something that the owners have consternation over but it's something beyond their control and, if the subway can't get it right, it would be unfair to hold it against 2nd Story. The studio is small so please remember to use the online reservation tool. To me, this studio has really helped my physical and mental health. They are truly a neighborhood gem. read more

This yoga studio is a true gem and I am glad it's at the great location. When I walked in i noticed it was very clean and well organized. Elaine welcomed me and gave me a tour of the rest of the space that includes massage room and Pilates studio. Blocks, props and mats are clean and space smells nice. Beautiful space tucked away in Jackson Heights that offers a great variety of Pliates and Yoga classes through out the day and week. Wonderful! I had the pleasure of attending my first Pilates class ever with Kay yesterday. It was an equipment class, and even though I was new to everything Kay was patient and walked me through the basic tenets of Pilates with a knowledge and confidence that was both reassuring and refreshing. There was a sensitivity to skill level, attention to detail, and clearly refined understanding of anatomy that made this class especially memorable. Not only the best Pilates classes I have ever taken, but right in my neighborhood! I have been going consistently for about a year and notice a significant improvement in my energy level.
