I have given them this rating based on my experience with their staff prior to even meeting with them, as you may read below. I found Main Line Counseling & Wellness Center, Inc. through my insurance providers network, and reached out on March 7, 2016 to set up a meeting. They called me back almost 24 hours later which is not ideal but ok, because a 24 response policy is mentioned on their voicemail. Cool, but not as timely as the other reviewers experience. After speaking with an Intake Specialist on March 8, 2016, I was asked to fill out some initial information in an email, and asked to register online. Registration took about 30 full minutes, after which I confirmed my appointment for March 10, 2016 at 8pm. So far, so good. I was emailed a lengthy contract after registration, and spent about 45 minutes to 1 hour filling it out in preparation for my 8pm meeting on March 10, 2016. But at 4pm on March 10, 2016, I was called by their office to say that the therapist needed to reschedule due to an emergency, and that she would call me the next day to set up another appointment. I was disappointed to hear that, and more so that another date was not offered at the time of cancellation. I started to have my doubts about working with this group, but I had already invested about 1.5 hours, so, I thought I'd see where it went. Today, March 11, 2016, I got a call from the therapist and we set an appointment for 6pm tonight, March 11, 2016. I was glad to reschedule quickly, and curiously asked the therapist if the same expectations and handling of emergency cancellations applied to the patient side, given part of their contract states that patients are expected to pay for sessions if canceled with less than 24 hours notice. I wanted to know that the respect and understanding I had shown would be returned should I find myself needing to cancel due to an emergency with less than 24 hours notice. I was told that would be, and I was looking forward to my session at 6pm. However, one of their owners, Susan, called me shortly after to tell me she had canceled my 6pm appointment, because she felt we did not start off on the right foot, and that she felt there was not mutual trust due to the the therapists 4 hour cancellation, and my inquiry about the 24 hour cancellation policy for patients. I'm really disheartened and almost feel violated; I shared very intimate details about myself with people who I will never now meet. I also feel like I was told that I am not trust worthy simply because of my inquiry into how emergency cancellations are handled on the patient side, given their very lengthy and binding contract.

Rather than other CSA (community supported acupuncture) clinic's practice of the 5 minute chat, and then generally hitting some of the usual points, she will talk to you throughout the process, finding the exact points that have an impact on your problem. If I could give her 6 stars, I would. I recommend Laura to anyone who's nervous about acupuncture as well. Her chipper mood and demeanor make you feel like you can tell her anything -- very important if you need to talk about any old issues/injuries that might be uncomfortable to talk about with a stranger. Add to this that her location is so ridiculously convenient, and you've found your acupuncturist. She has 'open room' days (shared acupuncture room with other people who are generally asleep or otherwise don't bother you if you don't bother them) as well as a private practice. I can't recommend her enough.

The space is quiet and comfortable, easy to access, but most importantly, the treatment is effective coupled with top notch, friendly service. You can't go wrong here.

I called back to inquire why and the receptionist check with the doctor who said he wanted to wait until I had my new insurance. Not that I hold alot of sway to offices, but this one was kind of like a rental car waiting room, in the basement. And while I was waiting some guy was listening to language tapes loudly w/o earphones. In my opinion the receptionist should have told him to take it outside. Over…read morethe years we have benefited from the skills of talented clinicians, each of whom I've been forever grateful for. Dr. Hernz is a gentle man who embodies peace and kindness. He is funny, but more than anything he conveys to his patients his fervent desire for them to feel better, and that he is on the same team as them. It's amazing what a transformative effect that has on a teenager. For example, on a recent visit, the NMT was being, well, a teen. Sullen, silent, maddeningly obstinate. He went into session staring at the ceiling and ignoring everything Dr. Hernz said, every attempt to start a conversation was met with a glare then a look away. Fun stuff. After about 10 minutes (really, I timed it) Dr. Hernz calmly turns to me and says "So, what have you noticed?" I began to share my observations, the NMT got up, walked out. OK. Then, five minutes later, he walks back in and...starts talking. Engages. Wow. Then Dr. Hernz tells him again, he's there to help him, he really wants him to feel better. My son, he looks at his doctor and says "I'm really sorry for walking out. I needed a moment but that was rude." Shut the front door. Dr. Hernz took it in stride, and they continued working. Other good things: Appointments are always on time, or within 5 minutes of scheduled time. Receipts are sent promptly within a day of the session. 95% of the time prescriptions are sent electronically, and this is done promptly. The imperfect: I don't always get a same-day response to email, it's usually a day or two. Occasionally prescriptions are not sent over promptly, as in sent within a day or two. Messages left for him are returned, sometimes same day, sometimes within a day or two. It's a graceful pace of administration. Also, no surprises, he does not participate with any insurance carrier. This is not surprising, it's rare to find a psychiatrist who does, they are a nationally underserved medical specialty, and especially in child psychiatry, there are far too few of them available, period. The good part of that is that his fees are reasonable, so the amount over what our insurance plan covers is fairly small. If you can't guess by the time you got here, YES I would recommend him. He's wonderful.
