They changed owners and they took away the brisket and replaced it with pull beef. They changed distributors so a lot of their food items have changed. The sterling egg rolls that were my favorite but they also changed in flavor a lot, a little disappointing. Their chicken fried steak was bland and greasy the gravy tasted like flour. Great atmosphere and good specials each night. I went on a Wednesday which was free pool day. Service was prompt and the crowd was friendly and inviting. I tried their combo app which had a good variety and portions and was fine for bar food, nothing amazing but nothing bad either. Their screwdrivers do come in a bottle which was a little surprising. Probably the only drinking place I could find in Sealy. Nevertheless it served its purpose which is alcohol on the cheap along with some cheap bar eats. Doesn't look like much on the outside or inside but haven't we learned you don't judge a book by its cover? My coworker and I were here every day sipping drinks and conversing about how the job brought us here. Locals frequent here and they have live music some nights or poker night so something for everyone. Bartenders are friendly. I'll admit I felt out of place but after I got my first drink, I felt right at home. This place is great! Such an awesome hidden gem in Sealy. A building that is somewhat of a historical site. Over 100 years old this building now holds this cool bar. Cool outside vibe as well. Terrible service at this place. On steak night we asked the server the best choice and we had a good discussion. But after an hour with no food we called him over to ask, but he had completely forgotten our order We were disgusted with the bad service and walked out. Saddleback Saloon is one of my favorite places to go. Steak night (Tuesday) is absolutely fantastic! I have had friends come in from Kenney, Katy, Houston, and even Madisonville come in for steak night and most have been back multiple times. The ones that haven't been back YET are planning to come back. Good beer & liquor selection, and a good prices. Food and drink specials. The music genre rotates, but it is always good -- country, top 40, oldies, zydeco, etc. There's something different going on each night. There is a tremendous amount of history in the building -- a Clint Black music video, a couple of Hollywood movies, etc. If you want to go where the locals go, this is the place. What history this is old Saloon has the year built was 1860. Matt Damon and Kirk Douglas did movies downtown at the Saddleback Saloon, Sealy, Texas I am in awe. ......Good coffee very strong not my liking burgers are the real Texas charcoal broiled over a barbeque pit delicious but overall experiance is positive. There is an outdoor area where real cowboys come to drink beer, whiskey and a full bar. Photos of old west produce the feel and ambiance takes you back in time to the old west. How could anyone miss this nostalgic gem. As I entered the Saloon smell of rustic wood and aroma of whiskey and beer created a feeling of ghostly presence since many claimed the wild west saloon is haunted, ghostly apparitions have been seen here.Very country folk running this resturant bar mostly hamburgers, sandwiches potatoes chips of all kinds and bar menu items. Bread was good, everything seamed fresh, but could have used a little more avocado and thick cut peppered bacon would have made it. Good overall.
