On our way from DFW to Galveston for a cruise and decided to avoid the I45 mess. So glad we took a back way and we picked out Sealy for our dinner. Good reviews here led us to the Wolf Pack. I loved the smell as we walked up. Good bbq and cooking was coming from inside. Our first interactions (and every interaction) with the staff was remarkable. Their customer service is on point. Friendly and just inviting! Our waitress (MacKinnely) was in her 2nd shift and was awesome! Big smile and more than willing to make our dinner a great experience! Restaurants thrive with staff like this. We opted for the fried combo (pickles,jalapeños and mushrooms) to start and we were really impressed. Not too salty and had good flavor. Then we decided on the brisket sandwich and shrimp Po Boy. They came out looking great! The brisket sandwich was really good and the fries cooked beautifully. Tasted great! This was our first time to visit. We live near HTown. The food was hot and yummy. Fried pickles, ribs and Chicken fried steak. The CFS was one of the best I've had. The meat was tender and not gristly. The gravy was too peppery for me though. The atmosphere is small town at its finest. Everyone seems to know everyone. It's cute. But the noise level is LOUD. I mean, you can't hear your spouse talking to you from across the booth table. There was live music. The singer was great. We were in the area and had to stop for a quick bite. Service was wonderful and the food always delicious. The sterlings egg rolls were super tasty and of course the Texas Twinkies never disappoints. I love the twice baked potato. It was cheesy and creamy. Husband had Texas Trio and Warm Goat Cheese salad, he said it was so good. Also had the Austin County Two step. This place was packed the night we were in town and wanted to try it. So we knew it must be good! Looked like everyone in Sealy was eating there tonight! You don't have to wait if you sit outside and the server was super fast and kind. The food was delicious and large portions. There was an amazing band playing inside but it was loud inside so we sat outside, plus no wait for outside seating. They have a great outdoor seating courtyard space that feels comfortable, with green turf, large picnic tables and a covered area that's well lit. We stopped at Wolf Pack Woodfire Tavern in Sealy on our way home from Galveston, and we're so glad we did! My husband and I both ordered the one-meat BBQ plates. He had the brisket with mac and cheese and green beans, and I had the smoked turkey with potato salad and cowboy beans. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with incredible flavor. The brisket was tender, the turkey was moist and smoky, and every single side was delicious. I'm very picky when it comes to BBQ, so it takes a lot to impress me--but this place absolutely delivered. From the quality of the food to the great flavors, every bite was excellent. We tried this place after going on a fishing trip today. The waitress was very attentive. She sat us quickly and her followup was great. When my water cup got low she was right there with another one. She checked in a few times to see how we liked the food and everything. The location has a nice tavern feel. I told my friend it didnt feel like a "tavern" which is really just given the name due to a dive bar feel with random furniture strewn about. This place actually felt like a tavern and good place to grab food and drinks. There was a variety of oldies and country music played not too loud, but loud enough to hear what was playing. On to the food. The texas twinkies got a chefs kiss from me. The jalapeno had some heat to it but it wasnt unbearable. The bacon wrapped around was crispy, the brisket and cream cheese mis was great also. My friend and I visited this place because of the reviews on the chicken fried steak and it did not disappoint. The steak used was juicy and tender. The breading was flavorful and it just meshed really well together and with the white gravy it was what you want when you think about a really good chicken fried steak. My mistake was picking up food to go. It's never the same when you get it to go. The food was slightly cold by the time I got home and I only live 5 minutes away. The service was scattered. When I placed my order, I felt hurried and I had to call back for a price and eta of food. When I arrived, I was promptly serviced so that's a plus and the place was packed. Ambiance felt relaxed. On to the food: I ordered a single burger with cheese, it came with fries. All good. I picked up an order of fried shrimp. All good I also picked up a chicken fried steak, unfortunately, no gravy! Stopped through for lunch while traveling back through from Columbus to Tomball. We were originally checking out Lucy's around the corner but as soon as we sat down and found the outrageous prices (over $20 fora wedge salad ) we hopped right up and thank goodness we found this trendy rustic barbecue spot. What a great and spacious spot. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are all so friendly so I can certainly see why all of Sealy hangs out there. I loved that they have the smokers right at the front where you smell the smokiness as you enter which is also where the outdoor seating is. I even saw a few people approach the cook so it looks like they're open to showing things and answering questions. The food came out quickly, fresh and hot. All the food had lots of punches of flavor. The crawfish were a good size and burgers were filling. We did ask for medium well however and they were more on the well side but that didn't hurt it too much. Plus, the Wolfpack sauce helped put it on another level and the fries, delicious! Perfectly crisp outside and dusted perfectly with seasoning. Definitely a great find and if we travel through again we'll be sure to be back. read more

Let me first say that I love Wolfpack, but after yesterday I will never go back there again. I ordered a to go order and I get there and I waited over an hour for my food. The manager felt bad and took off money from the original bill. I was like cool that's great, but then I get home and what I ordered was all wrong and even the salad that is called goat cheese had absolutely no goat cheese in it! I drove in from Houston at the recommendation of some friends who live out that way. The food and service were fine, but when I returned home, I was missing my credit card. Assuming I had left it at the Wolf Pack, I called several times throughout the day and into the evening. My calls were not answered and a message announced that the mailbox was full. Recently visited wolf pack and was a little disappointed in the service, temperature and the food! Service was slower than normal and I know it's summer but your main dining room should be at a reasonable temperature. Unfortunately it was blazing in front dining room. The biggest disappointment was the food I ordered the 8oz Top Sirloin. This had to of been the most unseasoned, toughest piece of steak I've had in a long time. I had very high hopes because many people have told me their steaks are to die for but I couldn't not agree. I even went as far as asking for A1 sauce. Was told by neighbors in Houston that this place was a phenomenal destination restaurant, especially referring to their Chicken Fried Steak Entree. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any more information regarding how to access the restaurant given that I couldn't walk up stairs. We had to get it to go as a result. We started off with two pounds of crawfish, there are two options. Definitely recommend the messy option! Crawfish were big sized and fresh. We tried the wood grilled chicken with a side salad and green beans and it was absolutely phenomenal!! Would return a million times just for this plate! We also had the lemon pepper wings, the bird and the 3 beautiful tacos. All plates were delicious! Giving this place 4 stars due to service. Waiter never came back to clean our table, we cleaned it ourselves. Waiter spilled glasses of water from tray onto our table, did not ask for buffalo sauce options on the bird sandwich, would take too long to return to check on us and would constantly have to remind her to bring the things we'd already asked her for. We got ours to go on brisket Thursdays, they were really nice and quick to have ours ready. The tacos didn't come with any sauce or flavor so he had to add homemade sauce to make them taste good. The boudin egg rolls and brisket plate were GREAT! Boudin egg rolls I think were shrimp, boudin, and pepper jack cheese with a "crazy sauce" so they definitely had a kick. My husband drove from Houston to try the Texas Twinkie. They were out. Wolf Pack is also know for steak. He would have tried the ribeye, but they were out. He moved on to the chicken fried steak. The steak was well seasoned and very good. They were out of steak knives to cut it. I tried the fried shrimp. The shrimp were ok, but definitely not worth the drive. The twice baked potato was really loaded mashed potatoes but was really good. The waitress told us she would have offered us to-go drinks, but guess what? They were out of to go cups. Have been several times but this past time is was all ...BAD. The hostess were not friendly and the wait time was forever. There were empty tables waiting to be cleared and a line of patrons waiting to be seated. There were 3 tables that were not cleared the whole time we were there. It took 45 for the crawfish to arrive. The were soggy, bland, small, and over cooked. I wish I would have complained to a manager but it seemed to take a long time to even get tea. I looked up the owner's name and will write a formal letter of complaint and send directly to him. His acquisition is not working in a town that really needs restaurants. Drove to Sealy from Katy today to give Wolf Pack a try for lunch. Great vibes and decor. Service was good, but food took at least 30 minutes. Everything tasted great; Fried shrimp, ribs and turkey club. The shrimp was delicious, but the hush puppies were still cold on the inside (must've been frozen when they fried them). The ribs were baby backs and had great flavor, but they were room temperature. The asparagus served as a side were too skinny and not the best. The turkey club was fabulous and full of tasty smoked turkey and bacon. The best part was the bun! The only reason I gave a 3 stars (more like 3.5) instead of 4-5 was because of the food temperature of the ribs and hush puppies, and how long it took for the food to arrive, otherwise it was delicious! It's not going to keep me from going back because I can't wait to give it another try. Next time for dinner! read more

Happened to be sliding through Sealy, TX. After sitting down at Lucy's and seeing how overpriced it was. So we scooted on down to the Wolf Pack Woodfired Tavern and this place was the perfect vibe. Countrified, yet inviting the perfect place to get a beer and you can tell the minute you walk up. We chose to sit outside because the weather was perfect. It took a little while for our food to come out, but we started with the fried pickles which were extremely fresh and seasoned. My MIL and I had the burger and fries we both asked for it medium well and it was well overcooked. It was still seasoned very well and had good taste, the burger being overcooked just made it dry. The fries were amazing and so were the green beans and mashed potatoes. My wife had the crawfish and she said it was spicy to her liking, all the potatoes and corn were great. The place was spotless with fun country-chic decor. The menu has nice variety but has a limited number of healthy options - three salads, that's pretty much it! Everything we ate was great, although the boudin balls were not my favorite - just a little bland for my liking. The fried goat cheese salad was fantastic! Crunchy pieces of breaded and warm goat cheese on a bed of lettuce tossed with apples and walnuts. Delicious! The service was great. Very welcoming and helpful. The worst service my husband and I have ever had-anywhere. We asked for a booth and were told none were available, even though three nearby booths just needed cleaning. Another server offered to clean one for us, which was great, and we moved. After that, everything went downhill. We had already placed our drink order, but nothing ever came. A different server stopped by to see if we wanted to order drinks, and we explained we were still waiting. Ten more minutes passed. When I asked the first server who our server was, she said she didn't know-and walked off. By then, we decided to leave. As we reached the front door that same server started yelling at us to come back, saying she was our server after all. This was our second bad experience here, and it's definitely our last. I won't even go into the first time other than they were out of steak so I ordered the catfish which was raw. Wow, just landed at the Wolf Pack since the Saddleback pub wasn't open. Nice, I just might make this my watering hole when I'm in Sealy. It has a nice atmosphere. The staff is nice. It has that ole back woods feel to it. This is a place you can chill for those day drinkers or you can bring the whole family. The menu choices are off the hook. Many items to choose from but not too many. They have outdoor seating for people that need that vitamin D on those beautiful sunny days. Did I mention they have a full bar??? Yes they do. I didn't see a lot of parking up front but I'm sure there is some in the back and across the street. Bout to jump all over this burger. The patties are not the size of the bun. Waitress said they were overwhelmed with the number of customers so I understood. Went back a couple of weeks later to try things they were sold out of. Everything was great!
