When we inquired about enrollment, the teacher specifically told us it was too early to enroll but that the time slot we wanted was available. We were instructed to wait until closer to June and were assured someone from the studio would contact us to finalize enrollment. Since no one ever reached out, I called the office on May 27th to get her enrolled. To my dismay, I was informed that the class was completely full. It was a big surprise, especially since we learned there had been a family on a waitlist for that same spot since April, a detail that was never communicated to us during our May visit.

They had a bunch of fairy gardens set up outside and along the walking trail that were so fun to look at. Andreas was AMAZING!!!! He made this workshop so much fun, for kids and adults. We all had so much fun and there were so many extra surprises he offered. I definitely recommend doing this workshop and we will be doing it again! We took home so many great items for our fairy gardens. This was even great for a young boy, he had a blast and was so creative as well. We need more of this.

We visited Kid Can Do expecting a fun, engaging indoor play space for young children, but it felt more like a restrictive, adult-supervised activity zone than a true play area. The biggest issue was the inconsistency and lack of freedom for the kids. Plenty of cupboards, covers, and storage areas were unlocked and easily accessible, so naturally the children explored them. As soon as they pulled out toys or art supplies, staff quickly took them away because they "weren't part of this week's theme." If you're going to leave things unlocked and within reach, kids are going to play with them, that's completely normal and developmentally appropriate. Instead, we spent most of our time picking up after our child and saying "no" or redirecting them. If that's the kind of experience you're looking for, this is the spot for you. If you want a place where children can actually play freely without constant intervention, look elsewhere. It also didn't feel developmentally suitable for the younger ages they advertise for. The setup created more frustration than fun, with limited open-ended play opportunities. On top of that, the cost felt excessive for what's offered. For the price, I expected more space, better variety, and far less policing of normal kid behavior. You could re-create what they offer for a fraction of what you are paying to go here for 90 minutes and have better peace of mind doing it in your own home. Save your time and money. Head to Play Pie or the New Children's Museum down in San Diego instead--both are much better options for actual play and exploration. And if you have any issues while you're working on your project, either FiFi or her assistant are walking around offering any help you need! My girlfriend and I went for their silver jewelry workshop, and we both made our own rings. We had the owner helping us throughout the process, from forming the clay in the shape we wanted, to heating, buffering, and polishing! She was really helpful, especially to me since I'm not the best with arts and crafts. I loved the way our rings came out, and these are both our favorite rings. I'd highly recommend coming to Soft Land for anyone looking for fun arts and crafts projects to try hands on! We're looking to come back for their stained glass workshop in the future ^_^

Family and friends look forward to getting them as gifts. I started taking lapidary classes there in the spring, now summer, and I just enrolled for the fall semester.
