My appointment with Shamika Williams (aka Sadestyledme) was scheduled NOVEMBER 8th 2017 AT 9AM. Not only did she not honor the appointment, she did not honor any of the business practices she so carefully details in her email. When this was brought to her attention she got upset and proceeded to CURSE ME OUT via voice text. She may have done this as a way of making sure it could not be documented (remember she only communicates via email or text?) but alas you can record voice texts with iOS 11. I wish I would have known that she operates/responds like this. I will not be returning and do not recommend anyone patronize her. I am a return client (former) and this was for a simple leave out maintenance and style to a previous sew-in she installed. She did finally return my deposit about 40 mins after the scheduled appointment. (Thanks?) No really don't patronize her unless you're ready to square up (ex. Sew in looked nice. However, brand new bundles were cut into small pieces without approval for sew in. I have always been advised by previous stylist before bundles are cut. Omg! She is tremendously unprofessional. I did not have the pleasure of getting my hair done although I had an appointment booked for over 1 week. My appointment was canceled by her and I will attach the text conversation between us. Firstly let me start by saying this was supposed to be my birthday install, so I am extremely upset still. The booking process was way too difficult, she wanted a face photo before being able to schedule, a $50 deposit, the name of the hair company etc. On her Instagram she constantly outs clients for using "bad hair" which in my opinion is bad business 101. The reviews on her site are not trustworthy at all because she removed all the bad ones. Nevertheless back to my experience , I found her via Instagram because her work is attractive . Booked my appointment and in the appointment details, I ask is there a grace period because I'm working kind of far and my appointment was scheduled for 6:30 (Primetime traffic hour in Houston) . The address on here is inaccurate, she's located in third ward. Never received a response until the day of my appointment which read "for every 10 mins you are late , there is a $10 fee and if you arrive after 7, appointment is considered a no show." By this time it's the day of my appointment so I already made accommodations to make it on time to my appointment . I text her back immediately and say "okay great I'll be there by 6:30pm, my scheduled appt time." I receive another text about 35 mins later saying "May you come at 7pm. I'm starting 30 mins behind." This was so frustrating for me because I understand if I am late I must pay you for your time . However I asked her does her policy apply on the reverse side ? And if not would I be able to wait inside the 30 mins difference as I was being dropped off by Uber." she text me back "No ma'am . It don't." I then received a cancellation email from her .... Like I said earlier this was my birthday install so I didn't have a back up plan, not to mention its 2 days before drake and futures concert (today) so anybody that does decent hair was booked up. Fast forward 10 mins after the cancellation email, I text, and call her numerous time saying "can you confirm if I still have an appointment ?!" I never received any correspondence back from this young lady. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone , she obviously doesn't take her job serious.... **This is an update , so of course I didn't get my hair done. After the review was written, she sent me a text that said thanks for the one sided Yelp review. In my opinion this is Bad bad business. You should never become confrontational with clients, potential clients etc. I never sent a text back because I was lost as to why she thought it was okay to text me period. Fast forward the whole month of September goes by now it's October 1, she sent me a total disrespectful text that read "find you somebody to play with you bitter little girl" ... Of course I'm confused because why are you still texting me? I haven't had any business with this woman in over 1 month , I don't know you personally so what's the problem? I booked an appointment 2 days ahead of time. I paid my deposit via cash app immediately. I had to wait a day and had to phone her for a confirmation text with the location. I made an appointment with this "stylist".... and got STOOD UP. The text messages explain everything a bit more. I have never felt SO helpless. I was actually looking forward to using her! I wish I would have known then, what I know now. I am not trying to throw shade or start any drama, but people need to know what they are working with and to work with her at their own risk. I drove an hour away for this appointment. She ignored me. I was there 30 min before my appointment! She didn't get back to me till 2PM.... and when she did, she threw all the blame on me. She also asked if I would like to pay in advance. I told her I would pay on my appointment date and thanked her for the instructions. I arrived to her home at 9:00 am. I texted her three times and called her to let her know I arrived. I did not receive a response until 9:47 am that said my appointment was at 10 am. I sent her the screenshot of my appointment time from her booking site to inform her that it was at 9:00 am. She called me yelling saying that she did not see the correct appointment time and I should have scheduled 24 hours in advance. I don't see why that matters if she thought my appointment was at 10 am and she was going to service me that day. I'm glad I did not pay in advance. First, during hurricane Harvey but her unprofessional Instagram posts demeaning her clients during this catastrophe was disgusting so i watched from afar. A few months later, i tried to email her questions about her process and she was curt and rude. So this one star is due to failure to show up for a 6:30 am apt on Nov 11th and not standing by her guidelines to communicate any delays. This apt was for my daughter who is in college and not from the area. I had a friend pick her up to make sure she was there on time. She was there 10 mins early, sent the text and waited around for an hour before she told me about the no show (other stylist in the building was not surprise). She has a rule about not calling her but after 2 hrs of texting, emailing and calling her I had my friend go pickup my daughter. Just lucky a stylist in the salon called another stylists and explained what happened and she was willing to work her in her already packed day. My daughter didnt leave the salon till 9pm but it was worth the wait and money. I didn't hear from Sade till 11:26am, after she provided a refund for the deposit and a excuse about she was on her way but ran into a ditch but didn't want to reschedule since my daughter was already waiting, but not calling or texting till 5 hrs later wasn't one. I've seen her work first hand, so nothing negative to say on her work, but I can't handle poor customer service. A friend and I had appointments with Shamika today, with our times running concurrent. Because we were coming 4 hours away, I allowed the stylist to give us a time allotment that was feasible for her. Before I go further, allow me to explain. I am a salon owner. Due to my schedule, I originally asked Shamika if she could travel to service us, since her IG Bio states she would. At that time, there were to be three ladies being serviced. Myself and two of my friends. Due to an unforeseen obstacle, one had to cancel so I called immediately to rectify the change and agree to for the remaining two of us to come to Houston. Shamika asked for us to pay the $50 deposit to secure the appointment, and a procedural email followed on her behalf. Upon arriving 30 minutes ahead of time to the appointment and texting "HERE" as requested, she informed us that she'd be late. Initially, no problem. That gave us time to use the restroom and snack. My appointment, the first scheduled, was for 10am. A few minutes after 10am, I received a call that she was roughly "36 minutes out". She went on to say that she had something to do concerning her "dog and living arrangements". When I asked why that couldn't be communicated with me before hand, she hung up in my face. My friend and I were standing in the lower foyer of the building so I did not raise my voice during this transaction. Once arriving to the car, I called her back, to which I was sent to voicemail. I texted and asked if she could please refund both deposits. Before doing so, she called back. I asked why was it necessary for her to end the conversation that way. Yelling, she said that when I initially reached out to her, TWO WEEKS AGO, concerning her coming to us, she made "arrangements for her dog because [she] wasn't going to leave it alone while [she] came to service me but that [she] couldn't get her money back so she wasn't going to come in". At this time, no address had been given other than the relative distance from her city to mine. She asked if we had an airport, but no set in stone plan. No deposits were paid; just a phone call to ask if she would be interested and what the fee would be if she did. The point of this review is to say this: I despise a liar. I detest a horrible business person. I have no respect for someone that cannot stand in their truth. FACT: Contact on our behalf was made in a timely manner. A reschedule of the original plan was done the very next day. One week ago today, Monday, two deposits were paid to solidify our slots. Confirmation emails were sent. Upon arrival, SADE was a NOSHOW and tried to play me as if I was the reason. When I last spoke to ask why didn't she communicate that she had something to do with her "dog and living arrangements", which by this point completely CONTRADICTS what we were told throughout the course of the conversation, she told me she "didn't have to communicate anything with me no matter how far I'd travelled." I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH SADESTYLESME AGAIN. Natural skill set isn't taught in school, it's God given. But today, I learned that neither is home training or business etiquette. Let me start with this was the by far the best hair experience ever. I just recently moved to Texas and was unable to find a hairstyle in the Ft.Hood area that looked like they knew what they were doing. I saw Sade on IG 2 months ago and was hesitant because she lives 3 hours from me but at this point I was ready to make that driceSade was extremely friendly, fast and knowledgeable about hair. I purchased some pack hair from the beauty supply store and as soon as I walked through the door she was very honest with me and told me she couldn't curl the hair due to the brand/quality. I respect her so much for that because any other stylist would've tried to pull magic and make it work without taking into consideration that they would damage the hair. Any question I asked her she was able to reply with an honest and professional answer. I LOVE my hair so much and I can't wait to go back. I just got my hair done for the second time by Sadestyledme and she is sooo cool. Everytime I contact her about a hair appointment she is always respectful and upfront about how she wants to conduct her business through email. If you are unable to respect her and her rules for service I suggest not to pursue her for any services she provides. She gives direct and straight forward instructions to follow and in those instructions it DOES NOT state you are unable to come early to your appointment and then follow the instructions at least 5 mins before your appointment time. Once those rules are followed she guides you to the next steps to proceed with getting your hair styled. Every encounter that I have had with her from start to finish has went very smoothly. My hair is natural and one thing I LOVE about her is that she takes care of my hair and makes it very manageable by washing and blowing my natural hair out so she is not pulling and tugging on my natural hair to braid it, which can be very painful. My installs are always on a solid foundation of braids and oiled before my bundles get sewn in. My sew-in is never spacey or has gaps, my leave out lasted me 3 weeks and I didn't have to apply any heat or edge control. Her conversation is always uplifting and positive.
