A friend of mine recommended Dr. Chasan, since my insurance could not do the surgery for another couple months. Once I stepped in Ranch and Coast, Dr. C explained his approach, I canceled with the other doctor, even though my insurance was going to pay for a large portion. Dr. C spent quite a while with me, answered all of my questions. I always feel like once you get in front of a Dr they make you rush, you end up, leaving with more questions and then answers. That was not the case at Ranch and Coast! I immediately felt a huge relief, and knew it was going to be a great outcome. Jennifer, from the surgery scheduling department really made me feel comfortable. And made the process extremely easy. I was dealing with two ruptured silicone implants from a previous surgeon, and was dealing with a lot of pain and infection. So getting me booked ASAP was a huge part of this as well. I was booked for surgery within 10 days of my consult, which was amazing! I was up and feeling great the next day, and they were already looking perfect! Dr Chasan minimized my previous scars, and did not require making it anymore. That was another reason I chose not to go to the other surgeon. It's been exactly 11 days since my surgery, I am so unbelievably happy! Not only am I feeling so much better from the removal of ruptured silicone, but they look so great. Love the cleavage and the way Doctor Chasan does breast surgery. I would highly recommend, and I already have. Two of my girlfriends are in the process of scheduling consults, after seeing how great mine look! I can confidently say he's one of the best surgeons in San Diego!

I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Chasan in January 2024 after researching surgeons for nearly a year. I…read morefound him on Reddit and was initially drawn to his specialization in the "Barbie-style" nose, which is surprisingly hard to find in the U.S. He also had overwhelmingly positive reviews, and I couldn't find any meaningful negative feedback, which gave me a lot of confidence. Since I'm not local, most communication was done by phone and email. His staff was initially very responsive and helpful, and my consultation, though brief, felt aligned. Based on that, I scheduled surgery the same day. Things started to feel off at my in-person pre-op appointment the day before surgery. I expected to meet Dr. Chasan for the first time, but instead was seen only by a nurse who seemed disengaged. The appointment consisted of photos and basic instructions. When I asked if I could meet the doctor, I was told he was unavailable. This made me uneasy, but with surgery the next day and already paid for, I felt I had no choice but to move forward. The morning of surgery, I was brought back and expected to proceed without seeing the surgeon. I had to specifically ask to meet with him before anything began. That conversation was brief but reassuring. We aligned on the aesthetic goals, which gave me some relief. The surgery itself went smoothly, and Dr. Chasan did call me the evening after surgery to check in. I am overall satisfied with my result. However, I do have a slight inverted V, which is concerning, as I worry it may worsen over time and potentially require correction in the future. I'm hopeful that being two years out it won't worsen, however I haven't been given the opportunity to speak with Dr. Chasan to ask about this. Unfortunately, the post-operative care is where my experience completely broke down. I had a scheduled post-op phone appointment with Dr. Chasan that he never attended- he never called. When I reached out to the office, I was not connected with him and was instead put on the phone with a nurse. I never actually spoke with the surgeon. I later followed up via email and was told that I was the one who failed to follow up, which was simply not true. After correcting this, the staff member apologized. Despite that, I have still never heard from Dr. Chasan again. For a procedure as significant as rhinoplasty, the lack of follow-up and accountability was extremely disappointing. While I am generally happy with my result, the absence of proper post-operative care and communication is something I cannot overlook.

I started receiving treatments here for Laser hair removal and on my 4th visit I noticed it was…read moremuch much more painful then usual, so I mentioned it to the Babe(the Nurse who does the Laser hair removal)and her solution was to simply ice the area more so it was less uncomfortable. As I was getting my full legs done the appointment was quite long and the whole time I had the sensation of burning and I simply didn't think it was normal as I'd never experienced this much discomfort. When I would tell her I thought it was too hot her response again was to ice the areas more and to try and distract me from the pain. Because I trusted that she was a medical professional(big mistake) I continued with the appointment despite my nagging feeling that it felt very wrong. when I stood up to leave I realized there were black and red welts all over my legs. When I showed her she responded that it would go away in a few hours and just put lotion on it....not so much. Turns out I was burned all over my legs and I ended up unable to sleep at all that night as the pain was so intense. I went back the next day to see the doctor and his response was not very comforting he basically said sorry she turned it up to high and that the scabs would fall off and eventually I would be fine. The pain lasted for quite a few days, I had to chill aloe vera gel and apply it every hour or so, not to mention take advil for the pain. I was shocked that they really were not very responsive and that they seem pretty ok with what had happened. Andrea( a girl who works there) was helpful and understanding and because I was very, very upset she gave me a refund on the rest of the treatments I had already purchased(although I feel they should have also refunded me for that appointment that left me burned and scarred). I could not wear dresses or shorts for almost three weeks because it looked so bad. Even now I am left with white marks all the way up and down both my legs. I will never go back there and I would never refer someone to them. Of course I knew there were risks with Laser hair removal, however a professional who is concerned about your safety and your well being would not ignore when someone tells them the pain is too much and it feels like its burning. The doctor was very nonchalant about it and when I explained that I had a trip to Miami planned and that now I would not be able to be in the sun, or show my legs, his response was, "well wear pants". When I asked him what could be done for the white marks on my legs he suggest I do spray tanning, So ridiculous! Why should I have to pay to cover up a condition that your incompentent staff caused me? I felt he didn't take my situation nearly as seriously as he should have considering he is the doctor on staff there and I was burned quite bad in his clinic. Nor did they offer me anything to help with the scarring I was left with. I hope I can save someone else the horrible experience I went through by writing this review. If I could give them zero stars I would.

This guy, Carl Powell is an absolute FRAUD! I'm not sure if they still work together or not, but he…read morealso had a snake-oil salesman assistant named Todd something or another, who managed to sell me on the idea of getting a hair transplant from them for only $2 per graft! I should have reminded myself right then and there that there's no free lunch and that you get what you pay for! It's now been 10 years since my so-called procedure, and, not only have I not grown any hair in the spots they operated on, I have permanent numbing on my skull that his con-man of an assistant told me AFTER the procedure is permanent and will never go away! Had he told me that upfront, I wouldn't have let them touch me.. Speaking of "them", even though I was groggy during the procedure, I do recall that a group of all Mexicans with accents were performing the procedure, and the idiot doctor was only supervising. Putting this together with the fact that the assistant went to Mexico regularly, it would totally make sense to me that these were a group of illegals without any license whatsoever, who probably worked for very little pay while Powell and his slimy assistant pocketed all the profits.. After getting confirmation from a woman who used to work in his office that the two (Powell and the Todd guy) were in fact ruthless frauds, I ended up suing them in San Diego Small Claims Court. During the first hearing, the judge was furious with Powell and even told him to shut up at one point! Unfortunately, however, he gave us 90 days to resolve the matter peacefully on our own, and, by the time of the follow-up hearing, the original judge had transferred to another court, and some dodo bird who was not even a real judge, only a "referee", heard the case. You could tell all he was interested in was to run his morning docket along, and, without even listening to my whole story (which, I had to tell all over again, thanks to the first judge leaving), he prematurely dismissed the case. What you might find very interesting is that Powell asked that referee to restrict me from leaving a review like this online (I'm sure he did not want his already shabby reputation to get even worse), but the referee declined his request! I have no doubt I would've won my case had the original judge remained on it, but, at least I'm able to warn others like whoever is reading this review about this incompetent quack, who, I found out after speaking to an attorney, at least at the time of my procedure did not even have the proper education or license to even perform hair transplants of ANY kind! And, given his character and conduct as I remember it, I highly doubt anything about him has changed in these intervening years.. I hope you make the wise choice that I unfortunately didn't, and stay away from this shameless fraud posing as your friendly neighborhood plastic surgeon!

I went to a lot of…read moredifferent consultations with many different plastic surgeons and Ranch and Coast was my top pick right away because of how friendly the atmosphere was and because of how great the doctor is. He was the first doctor to point out how my face wasn't symmetrical due to my cerebral palsy and gave advice right away on what could be done to fix it. I also had a really difficult nose to operate on in my opinion because of the shape and severe breathing problems. He fixed my problem perfectly and made my nose look a million times better. My brow lift, fat transfer, chin implant, and rhinoplasty all turned out amazing and made my appearance much better. I'm very happy with my results and I'm incredibly thankful! Even if I forgot to ask a question or forgot some instructions the staff and doctor were soo helpful when I came back or called to ask. They were super helpful throughout the entire process & made me feel comfortable from pre-op to post-op. 10/10 recommend! THANK YOU TO THE SWEETEST TEAM AND BEST DOCTOR!

I initially consulted with Dr. Chasan regarding a minor rhinoplasty to soften a bump on my nose and…read moreslightly refine the nasal tip. During the consultation, Dr. Chasan stated "Let's address the low-hanging fruit," stating that "with your eye hooding, a nose job alone won't brighten your face." I expressed concern about undergoing any facial procedure that could result in visible scarring. Having lived with a facial scar since childhood, avoiding additional visible scars was extremely important to me. I specifically asked whether a brow lift would be a better option. Dr. Chasan told me that a brow lift would not adequately address the hooding of my eyelids. I then asked for assurance that any incisions from an eyelid procedure would be concealed within the natural creases of my eyelids. Dr. Chasan assured me that I would have no visible scarring and emphasized his extensive experience performing this procedure. Based on these representations, both my mother and I believed he was qualified to perform the surgery safely and appropriately. My mother subsequently provided the additional funds necessary to add a bilateral upper blepharoplasty to my rhinoplasty. On the day of surgery, Dr. Chasan entered the preoperative room and marked my eyelids freehand with a surgical marker. Although his assistant had placed measuring instruments on the counter, he did not use them. He performed no measurements, no objective assessment of brow position, and no evaluation of eyelid laxity, although these preassessments are laid out on his website. He did not lift my brows or perform any detailed examination of the structures surrounding my eyes. In fact, he performed no physical examination of my face with his hands or any device before making the surgical markings. Following surgery, my mother and I were shocked by the outcome. The incisions extended beyond the natural boundaries of my eyelids and curved upward toward my eyebrows rather than remaining hidden within the eyelid creases as I had been assured, and my eyelid creases had been raised up into an unnatural and unsightly position. In addition, my eyebrows appeared pulled downward into a lower position and were noticeably uneven. The resulting appearance was dramatically different from what had been discussed during the consultation and contrary to the assurances I was given regarding incision placement and visible scarring. Instead, I was left with permanently lowered brows and a constant sad and tired appearance due to the altered shape of my eyes. I later learned that excess skin, muscle, and fat had been removed from my eyelids--procedures for which I DID NOT provide informed consent. My nose also appears collapsed, lacks definition, and looks nothing like the reference photos Dr. Chasan specifically asked me to provide before surgery. When I raised concerns during my post-operative appointments, Dr. Chasan became dismissive and defensive. Even after my mother insisted that he compare my before-and-after photographs, he refused to acknowledge the significant changes to my appearance. When we asked why my eyes appeared misshapen and why I had scars extending beyond my natural eyelid creases, he became irritated and stated, "I feel like I'm being attacked," rather than addressing our concerns. At no point did Dr. Chasan disclose that he had removed muscle and fat from my eyelids. I only learned the extent of what had been done after obtaining and reviewing my operative report. To this day, he has never explained why these procedures were performed or why they were necessary. I have since consulted with other specialists, who have informed me that there is little that can be done to restore my brows to a natural position. Any attempt at correction would likely require skin grafting and could create additional cosmetic issues. There is a chance that the shape of my eyes can be improved, with the initial surgery costing over $30,000. Dr. Chasan never informed me that he was going to be removing muscle and fat from my eyes, only a small amount of skin. He never warned me than my eyebrows would be permanently pulled down out of their natural placement. He never warned me that I would be left with such an odd appearance, that I wouldn't be able to fully close my eyes, and that I would be in chronic pain for over a year now. I am devastated, and my family and friends are devastated for me, by both the outcome and the way my concerns were handled. He was dismissive and refused to address my concerns. When I began crying in his office, he said "Enough of the emotional stuff!" I rarely leave my home, I am embarrassed for my family and my husband's friends to see me, and cannot take photos with my young daughters. None of us ever imagined that I would be left with permanent facial disfigurement and unanswered questions about the procedures performed. While there may be little that can be done to reverse what happened to me, I am sharing to help others.
