I too do not like leaving negative reviews however if I can save one person from going through what I did it will all be worth it. the scars are hideous.. unprofessional and unnecessary, just sloppy. For the amount of money paid your result should be much better than they are. First red flag was the in person consultation the day before surgery- maybe 5 minutes. He didn't even seem to know my case. I was extremely concerned but my concerns were quickly dismissed by his staff. One of his nurses actually said to me "Bless your heart"! Wow, just wow! We all know what that means sweety. I have a double scar under my chin where he made two cuts (yes I have pictures) and has caused a double bubble under my chin. It was noticeable within a few months. his recovery nurse was amazing but quit within months of my recovery. In the beginning he said lasers would take care of the mistakes ( but never offered them himself). I was having a difficult recovery I called and emailed multiple times and was finally told Dr Karam was not available to talk to me. His emails also will disappear on his response for his protection so be aware. You will be dismissed, left to try and correct his huge mistakes. My eyelids still had extra skin which will require another lid surgery, he did offer to re-do them early on but after a year of ignored calls I will never let this man touch my face again. He would not allow any kind of red light for healing or oxygen chamber.. very standard with most plastic surgeons. All natural healing is what he promotes, it's just bullshit. No lasers will correct the deep scars and scar tissue he left. It's been 2 years and I still can't feel the sides of my face and under my chin. Find someone else! Honest review here. SCARS that will never go away, no matter how many lasers, corrective surgery, micro-needling and hair transplants (yes, that bad). I will be left with scars for life that could have been completely avoided. I am so incredibly unhappy with my results. Not only did I pay a fortune for the "Vertical Restore", lower and upper Bleph, lip lift and fat transfer, I was left with subpar results and the scars are horrendous. The scars left around my face are so incredibly noticeable that I have to get hair-transplanted to cover them. I cannot wear my hair up or back. The scars under my eyes, around my ears and hairline are incredibly noticeable. I have consulted with multiple surgeons in regards to my results, and all are shocked at not only what I paid, but the lack of results and permanent scarring. I have since had to undergo surgery to fix the GIGANTIC scar under my nose from the lip lift (super low), as well as the disproportion of my facelift (jowels left on the left of my face) and the skin that was left under my chin and neck. My neck lift was barely touched, yet the scars are horrendous. I had to have the bags corrected in my 2nd facelift by a SKILLED surgeon. My lower bleph left me with nothing but scars and bags. All of which I pointed out to Dr. Karam. I have asked for a refund to cover the cost of a facelift revision, lower bleph revision, neck lift revision, scar revision therapy as well as the hair transplants to cover the scarring around my face and hairline. I have reached out to Dr. Karam on several occasions, and my concerns were brushed off. I felt intimidated anytime I brought up my concerns, therefore my trust and faith in his ability to make this right has passed. I have since requested that I receive money back to take care of all of the areas that need fixing and I have received no response to my request. read more

Let me first say that Dr. Karams technical skills are very good. However, when you are charging Rolls Royce prices your patients deserve Rolls Royce service. I had very minimal interaction with Dr. Karam. In addition, the staff didn't bother to follow up and check on me for days after I left. Never would Dr. Karam bother to check on his patients himself at this stage of his career. At his two year ago pricing of $80k the experience would have been ok. But, at his inflated increased pricing of $200k (I ended up paying $186k) the practice has work to do. His team could take some training from Hannah in his office. She is not only outstanding at what she does she saved me from another nurse in the office hurting me unnecessarily when trying to take out my stitches. Hannah's skill set is not only a cut above but she is extremely nurturing . More care less cheerleading would have been more in line with what I expected from Dr. Karam's office. Hannah just seemed to make everything better. And, lastly being left in a hallway when nervous prior to a surgery just isn't acceptable. It wasn't my job to bring comfort to a nervous patient waiting for her surgery appointment. But, I felt the need to do something for her as I felt like she did the day before waiting alone for mine. There are great surgeons with incredible skills and great bed side manners for a fraction of the price. Do more research than I did. read more

I've been reluctant to post this for a long time as I feel bad posting less than favorable comments about people on line however the time has come that I have to be forth coming about Dr Karam's services. I had rhinoplasty and a chin implant with Dr Karam 8 years ago. Firstly, my smile was completely crooked from the chin implant and after chatting to Dr Karam on numerous occasions about it, he refused to validate my concerns and kept telling me that it wasn't possible since he used the smallest implant available. Eventually, I had another surgeon in LA remove it and sadly am left with scar tissue on the one side of my chin. The nose is a whole other story. What he proposed on the computer generated image was completely different to what I got. Also, I've never been able to fully breathe out of the left nostril. I went back to him twice and he told me the nostril was just very dry and to use a nose spray to open up the nose passage. In reality, the septum is crooked and as time has passed, it's getting worse. I am a previous client of Dr. Karam's from 10 years ago. I was pleased with my past experiences, so I would have no reason to leave this review unless my current experience was markedly negative. They've not only lost my business, but my fiancé's as well. A big shame. Follow your gut, when you are treated like an afterthought by everyone on staff. The arrogant millennials running this office have a lot to learn. The condescending, dismissive attitudes need a big adjustment. *Reminder kids* (Karam's staff), it's the clients that pay your wages and keep Dr. Karam's office in business. The rest of the experience is as follows: IMPERSONAL PROCESS: Once you complete an online form and send your photos requesting consult, you will receive a boiler plate response from office staff, stating that your photos have been reviewed and here is "what Dr. Karam recommends." Both my fiancé and I received a recommendation that far-exceeded what we had expressed interest in and they were IDENTICAL SURGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS. Really? Identical recommendations for two different people? Very impersonal. I question whether Dr. Karam reviewed the photos himself, or has a staff member review and send out the boiler plate menu of procedures to clients over a certain age. An ASSEMBLY LINE approach to surgical recommendations raises big red flags. SALES PITCH: Next is a high-pressured sales pitch to put 20% down in order to hold the quoted price, before the "prices increase" and to hold a date on the calendar for 2023. They're very responsive when they want to get your deposit. VIRTUAL CONSULT: Consultation is $1,000 for an alleged hour of FaceTime. There are no in-person consults. The only opportunity you are given for a face to face is the DAY BEFORE SURGERY. I reluctantly booked a consult which was 7 minutes long. Dr. Karam didn't seem to remember me or the procedures he had performed before. It would be helpful to pull up a previous client's record so you know who I am. It felt half-hearted, rushed and very lackadaisical considering we're discussing facial surgery. I am pretty well-versed about what Vertical Restore entails, but other questions came up after my consult. Which leads to the next error they made in the process. NO RESPONSE TO REPEATED REQUESTS: I emailed and called his Patient Coordinator asking for some additional FaceTime, since I used 7 minutes of time during my consult. Four days later, NO RESPONSE, completely ignored. I had put 20% down, booked the surgery and this is how I'm treated? I DECIDED TO CANCEL SURGERY. I had lost all confidence and didn't feel good about moving forward. My fiancé had nearly the identical experience, with 3 calls and 2 emails that went unanswered. He couldn't even get a consult on the schedule. He was interested in an eye procedure. I guess if you don't meet their minimum amount of surgical procedures, they don't bother to call you back? That was our guess at this point. Neither of us is interested in pursuing something as important, delicate and costly with an office and doctor that treats you like an inconvenience. The lack of professionalism, arrogance and disinterest in providing basic customer service to your clients is unacceptable. A total failure. We have since had two great consults with other surgeons. The difference was night and day. EVERYTHING matters during this process. The culture and attitude of the doctor trickles down to every level of staff. If you feel like you're being treated poorly, like another number in line, the way Karam's office treated us, then MOVE ON. I've been going here for Botox for a while now and like the results. This one-star review is for their new drivers license policy. Today I took time off of work and paid a child care provider to arrive at my appointment on time. The desk person wanted to make a photocopy of my drivers license. I declined; I've had identity theft issues in the past and they were a nightmare to clear up. Now I don't give out personal info where it's not necessary. I offered to *show* them my license so they could confirm my name, and to prepay for the service (I've always paid for the service there in full at the time of the service without a problem, which I assume they could see from their records). But they refused to treat me unless they actually had a copy of my license in their files. There's no reason for this, and I'm so annoyed they didn't bother to let me know about this new requirement before I incurred all the costs of showing up at my appointment. They offered to reschedule, but why? We would have the same problem next time. read more

I had my lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Karam in December, 2016. It's been six years and I continue to struggle with dry eye in my left eye. I've been to two ocular-plastic surgeons, one ophthalmologist, and by chance two opticians. All 5 tell me it's very simple: there was too much skin cut away from the lower eyelid by the physician who performed the procedure. This causes something called "incomplete blink." It's basically when there's not enough skin available for the eyelid to fully close. It's only in my left eye so, presumably, it wasn't my eyes' reaction to the surgery. I went back to Dr. Karan two times and he said the results looked good and there was nothing he could do. He's really accurate. The results look fantastic! And there is truly nothing he nor anyone can do...aside from NOT cutting too much skin away in the first place. I don't accuse him of any type of malpractice. It's a cost of doing surgery. You truly never know about the result until it is done. However, if you are considering this procedure, know that you might be one of the 2% who get dry eye. There is a reason you sign all the "dry eye" boiler plate disclosure documents in Dr. Karan's waiting room. Trust me. It's not worth it. Stick with what you've got. It's better than taking ibuprofen for eye inflammation every day. The positive stars are for his staff and for the outcome aesthetically. Again, he probably did the best job he could have (please know that his certification is in GENERAL plastic surgery and not OCULAR plastic surgery and there is a difference. Live and learn, I guess). I'm certain he didn't know he was taking away too much skin, but he still did. Maybe I could refute the opinion of one doctor, but 5, I just can't. The most recent one was last month. I had my first nose filler and lip filler for the second time around with dr.Karam.He did it painless and very quick.I love it.One thing that i complain about was he doesn't make me feel welcome at all,he doesn't communicate much or very welcoming. I started following Dr.Karam a couple of years ago. I was 45 and I had begun to notice my jowls sagging, I would lift them and notice how much younger I would look. I don't like fillers and felt nervous to have a procedure done to my face. I finally made an appointment through Zoom and was impressed with Dr.Karam's accuracy and ability to explain the four points of the face that would need to be addressed to restore balance and symmetry to my face. Prior to the vertical restore I had the pleasure of meeting Dr.Karam and his team. They were absolutely wonderful. I firmly believe that you are only as good as the people that surround you. $1,000 for a VIRTUAL consult - are you insane? AND they refuse to offer in person consultations so that's the only option you have. I asked if it was possible to do the virtual consult and then do an in-person after and was willing to pay for both but they literally said no - I had my card ready and willing to pay the $1000 for an in person after but they literally refused!! They said the only time you see the doctor in person is ONE DAY before your scheduled surgery, for your pre op!!! WHAT?! $1,000 to have him look at my face from a completely distorted FaceTime lens - completely inaccurate because the SCIENCE behind camera lenses proves that the way you look on your camera is not comparable to how you look in real life. 17mm lens view from a front lens vs 50 mm lens in the back vs real life aren't comparable. Not seeing the patient in person until ONE DAY before surgery. Not to mention he is unable to touch your skin for elasticity and structure etc - this screams a lack of patient care , lack of skill, lack of expertise etc the list goes on. Furthermore, it screams money-hungry and a complete disregard for patient care. No thanks - I'll take my $1,000 to KOA or Jacono - world renowned surgeons who do in-person consults. read more
