I've been reluctant to post this for a long time as I feel bad posting less than favorable comments about people on line however the time has come that I have to be forth coming about Dr Karam's services. I had rhinoplasty and a chin implant with Dr Karam 8 years ago. Firstly, my smile was completely crooked from the chin implant and after chatting to Dr Karam on numerous occasions about it, he refused to validate my concerns and kept telling me that it wasn't possible since he used the smallest implant available. Eventually, I had another surgeon in LA remove it and sadly am left with scar tissue on the one side of my chin. The nose is a whole other story. What he proposed on the computer generated image was completely different to what I got. Also, I've never been able to fully breathe out of the left nostril. I went back to him twice and he told me the nostril was just very dry and to use a nose spray to open up the nose passage. In reality, the septum is crooked and as time has passed, it's getting worse. Within the year, I'm going to have to have this fixed as well as I simply cannot go on with compromised breathing.

Here I am happy to get my treatment! In my late 40s and next step intra cell In 3 months again.

Unfortunately, I am deeply unhappy with the results and the total lack of accountability regarding my concerns. My cheeks are noticeably uneven; one side remains significantly larger than the other. Now that over two years have passed since my procedure, I have developed deep irregularities (uneven and lumpy texture) across my cheeks and under my eyes. Instead of a smooth transition, the texture is uneven and looks unnatural. The lip lift left a very prominent and obvious scar underneath my nose. It is not the hidden or discreet result I was led to believe. Despite the facelift, I have an excessive amount of wrinkles around my neck, chin, and mouth area. As time goes on, the hollows and unevenness are becoming more pronounced rather than settling. The cost of these procedures was incredibly high. I feel that the premium prices patients pay are for his massive marketing and social media production, not for superior surgical skill. For the amount of money spent, one expects precision and personalized care, neither of which I received. When I met with Dr. Karam via Zoom four months post-op to express my dissatisfaction, he was dismissive. He refused to guarantee any revision work to correct these clear issues. It is now clear that this is a mass production practice where the focus is on bringing in new clients through polished social media photos rather than ensuring the long-term quality of the work. I deeply regret my decision. I am now forced to seek out another surgeon to perform an expensive revision to fix the damage. Please do your research beyond social media before choosing this clinic.

During the consultation, I clearly explained what I was looking for. He mentioned under-the-armpit incisions, which interested me, but then quickly insisted that I would need a lift. I explained that I was extremely uncomfortable with a lift due to scarring, but my concerns were dismissed. He spoke very fast, was insistent, and both my support person and I felt lost and talked over. He told me my nipples were "turned down," which I disagreed with, and made unsolicited comments such as women not wanting to "look like a boy," that "guys don't care about scars," and that "you either have scars or you don't have bigger boobs." These comments felt inappropriate and made me feel pressured and insecure rather than supported. Overall, I felt that he did not listen to my goals or respect my boundaries. I booked this consultation specifically because of his advertised experience with endoscopic transaxillary cases and made my preferences very clear, yet I felt pushed toward a procedure I did not want. I would not trust this doctor and would recommend finding a surgeon who truly listens and has experience in the specific approach you're looking for. Additionally after the consultation, I called the office again to clarify whether it would be possible to proceed with an under-the-armpit approach without a lift, since I am comfortable with my breast shape and simply want more volume. He responded that I would "have the same breasts, just bigger," and that I would still have "the same problem." I explained that I do not see my breasts as a problem and that I like them as they are. He then told me that I should find a different doctor.

A little over two years ago, I underwent several procedures here, including a deep plane facelift, rhinoplasty, neck lift, liposuction, and earlobe reduction. Unfortunately, my results were far from satisfactory. I ended up with multiple complications and cosmetic issues. I have a visible hollowing/depression along my lower face that is especially noticeable when I smile. My jawline contour is uneven rather than smooth and straight. My nose actually appears more crooked than before surgery, remains quite bulbous, and the breathing issues I hoped to correct were never resolved. I also developed pixie ear deformity after the facelift. The emotional impact of these results was significant. To make matters more confusing, the surgeon who performed my surgery later disappeared from the practice. I was never given a clear explanation as to whether he left or was no longer employed there. The practice did offer some corrective procedures. A fat transfer was performed to address the hollow area in my face, but the fat did not survive, so the defect remains. They also repaired the pixie ear, but I was left with a noticeable scar beneath the ear. For the remaining issues, I was essentially told that I would need to undergo additional surgery and pay for it myself. More than two years later, I still have breathing problems, persistent tightness in my neck, an uneven jawline, and cosmetic concerns that were never resolved. After everything I have been through, this experience has been deeply disappointing, and I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

I am writing this not only out of personal necessity but also as a warning to others. Years ago, I…read moreunderwent a breast reduction procedure performed by Dr. Jeffrey Umansky. When I expressed immediate and legitimate concerns about the grossly asymmetrical, misshapen outcome, I was dismissively met with the condescending remark: "Let's remember, they're sisters, not twins." This patronizing statement was clearly meant to deflect responsibility and silence a vulnerable, young patient who had just trusted him with her body. The result was not only physically disfiguring, but emotionally devastating. At the time, I lacked the personal and emotional support to pursue legal recourse. However, with time and reflection, it's become undeniably clear: I was negligently and carelessly operated on, and the trauma I endured has left lasting scars--both literally and psychologically. To be specific, Dr. Umansky's surgical execution resulted in: Sloppy and uneven internal tissue excision Poorly closed incisions, resulting in significant scarring and dog-ear deformities Asymmetrical areolas, with nipples more than an inch off from one another Long-term disfigurement that has made any corrective procedures extremely complex and costly Despite my desperation and embarrassment, I reached out to the office manager shortly after the surgery to request even a partial refund so I could afford reconstructive work elsewhere. My plea was coldly denied and ultimately ignored. The lack of professional accountability shown by both Dr. Umansky and his office was reprehensible. Since then, I have consulted with multiple board-certified plastic surgeons, all of whom confirmed the extensive damage done and emphasized the difficulty of now restoring what was once a healthy, intact chest. One even stated that the tissue had been "butchered"--their words, not mine. I have photographic documentation of both the immediate post-op results and my current condition, which I am prepared to share publicly and with appropriate legal channels if necessary. If the platform allowed, I would upload these images in full to give others the visual proof of what I have suffered due to Dr. Umansky's substandard care. Dr. Umansky, whether your staff chose to shield you from the fallout or not, you should know: your conduct was not only negligent but borders on medical malpractice. Your failure to take responsibility--medically or financially--for the irreversible damage you caused is inexcusable. I gave everything I had to pay for that surgery, and in return, I was left physically distorted and emotionally broken. This message is for the patients who have been silenced, dismissed, or gaslit into thinking they had no right to speak up. I speak now because I have found my voice--and others deserve to find theirs too. Your actions, Dr. Umansky, were not only unprofessional and unethical--they were, and remain, absolutely unforgivable.

I initially consulted with Dr. Chasan regarding a minor rhinoplasty to soften a bump on my nose and…read moreslightly refine the nasal tip. During the consultation, Dr. Chasan stated "Let's address the low-hanging fruit," stating that "with your eye hooding, a nose job alone won't brighten your face." I expressed concern about undergoing any facial procedure that could result in visible scarring. Having lived with a facial scar since childhood, avoiding additional visible scars was extremely important to me. I specifically asked whether a brow lift would be a better option. Dr. Chasan told me that a brow lift would not adequately address the hooding of my eyelids. I then asked for assurance that any incisions from an eyelid procedure would be concealed within the natural creases of my eyelids. Dr. Chasan assured me that I would have no visible scarring and emphasized his extensive experience performing this procedure. Based on these representations, both my mother and I believed he was qualified to perform the surgery safely and appropriately. My mother subsequently provided the additional funds necessary to add a bilateral upper blepharoplasty to my rhinoplasty. On the day of surgery, Dr. Chasan entered the preoperative room and marked my eyelids freehand with a surgical marker. Although his assistant had placed measuring instruments on the counter, he did not use them. He performed no measurements, no objective assessment of brow position, and no evaluation of eyelid laxity, although these preassessments are laid out on his website. He did not lift my brows or perform any detailed examination of the structures surrounding my eyes. In fact, he performed no physical examination of my face with his hands or any device before making the surgical markings. Following surgery, my mother and I were shocked by the outcome. The incisions extended beyond the natural boundaries of my eyelids and curved upward toward my eyebrows rather than remaining hidden within the eyelid creases as I had been assured, and my eyelid creases had been raised up into an unnatural and unsightly position. In addition, my eyebrows appeared pulled downward into a lower position and were noticeably uneven. The resulting appearance was dramatically different from what had been discussed during the consultation and contrary to the assurances I was given regarding incision placement and visible scarring. Instead, I was left with permanently lowered brows and a constant sad and tired appearance due to the altered shape of my eyes. I later learned that excess skin, muscle, and fat had been removed from my eyelids--procedures for which I DID NOT provide informed consent. My nose also appears collapsed, lacks definition, and looks nothing like the reference photos Dr. Chasan specifically asked me to provide before surgery. When I raised concerns during my post-operative appointments, Dr. Chasan became dismissive and defensive. Even after my mother insisted that he compare my before-and-after photographs, he refused to acknowledge the significant changes to my appearance. When we asked why my eyes appeared misshapen and why I had scars extending beyond my natural eyelid creases, he became irritated and stated, "I feel like I'm being attacked," rather than addressing our concerns. At no point did Dr. Chasan disclose that he had removed muscle and fat from my eyelids. I only learned the extent of what had been done after obtaining and reviewing my operative report. To this day, he has never explained why these procedures were performed or why they were necessary. I have since consulted with other specialists, who have informed me that there is little that can be done to restore my brows to a natural position. Any attempt at correction would likely require skin grafting and could create additional cosmetic issues. There is a chance that the shape of my eyes can be improved, with the initial surgery costing over $30,000. Dr. Chasan never informed me that he was going to be removing muscle and fat from my eyes, only a small amount of skin. He never warned me than my eyebrows would be permanently pulled down out of their natural placement. He never warned me that I would be left with such an odd appearance, that I wouldn't be able to fully close my eyes, and that I would be in chronic pain for over a year now. I am devastated, and my family and friends are devastated for me, by both the outcome and the way my concerns were handled. He was dismissive and refused to address my concerns. When I began crying in his office, he said "Enough of the emotional stuff!" I rarely leave my home, I am embarrassed for my family and my husband's friends to see me, and cannot take photos with my young daughters. None of us ever imagined that I would be left with permanent facial disfigurement and unanswered questions about the procedures performed. While there may be little that can be done to reverse what happened to me, I am sharing to help others.
