Shit hole with rude staff and an angry owner. His name says it all. Prices are exorbitant. There's no prices, just whatever they decide to charge in the moment. A bottle of water is $3 and a case of 35 at a grocery store is $6.50 for a comparison of the prices. Owner got pissed and snatched the bottle out of my hand and told me to get my own and I did. He didn't like it and tried to pick a fight with me by pushing me and stealing my bottles of water off the table. The old man is lucky he didn't get beat down. So as the adult I left because he's got serious anger issues. As for the karaoke, the sound system is horrible. Most times you can't hear yourself sing because the mic volumes too low and the owner refuses to accommodate the clientele. IF it ever gets busy, then you really can't hear. So we had heard so many bad rumors about this place we never stopped in. Drugs, seedy crowd. So when we bought a new place out of town we said we had to stop in before we leave. WHat a nice place. Its was Karaoke and was so entertaining. The place quickly became crowded and was a bit young for us, but sorry we had not stopped sooner. I'm seeing more posts on driver forums where Lyft and Uber drivers state they refuse to pick up at Saeed's. Too much attitude and aggravation from the clientele. That being said, there are enough drivers around to get you back home. read more

Refused entry with a service dog, cursed at by the door guy repeatedly and then threatened by him all while remaining completely calm trying to explain the law on service animals to the owner and door man. Wow, what to say about Saeed's. I've had a good time here before, and I've also walked in the door and walked right out. It really is a hit or miss type of place for me. For one, the bar is located on the back side of a service station/beer store. That alone brings out the sketch factor. The interior isn't very big, but does have a pool table, small wrap around bar and a few lounge chairs. I have been fortunate enough to visit on karaoke night a couple of times, and it seems to have a very good following here. Like with everywhere else, there are a few people that can sing, but more that can't. But they appear to enjoy it. The crowd ranges from older people to lake yuppies to 20-somethings making their last stop of the evening. And that is what Saeed's seems to be, in my opinion: a decent place to make as your last stop of the evening, just to make sure you aren't missing anything. Whats better than a bar in the back of a gas station? A bar in the back of a snow cone shop. If you live in the Cornelius area, then you absolutely have to love this place. #1 because where else can you go to listen to music and dance in this town? And by that, I mean the often tortuous (sometime amazing) sounds of karaoke 7 nights a week and the grindage of barely 21 baby faced pups who arrive with their squad of millennials to "bring back" Glee. I can't hate on it, or them for that matter... This is just another place in my sweet town that I often call a home away from home. Even though I can walk there. These people look at me cross-eyed when I don't order my double tall vodka soda. I am not one to wait in line for much so I always order a "large" when I go out. Here's the scoop, my friends: Drinks - If you like basic college beer... This is your place. Don't get me wrong, I do love a great craft beer. My wallet just can't afford that all of the time. But lets face it, I am of the age and waist-line that I will probably be sticking to vodka or red wine. And that have both. Saeed does often have a local brew on site every down and then. Maybe on tap? IDK bc I don't go there for that. As far as $$$ goes, beer or the jello shots are the biggest bang for your buck. I hear of people c/o the liquor prices but I feel like $10 for a double isn't horrible. Pro-Tip... pay in cash. It'a very busy place and extra drinks have often been placed on tabs, I hear. Vibe - They used to have couches. Gross, right? Kinda, but it also suited the vibe of the place. This place is not classy by any means. Smoking was allowed on the "indoor patio" up until last year so you would reach of cigarettes and poorly thought our decisions the next morning. But gone are the couches and cigarette smoke. This place has karaoke 7 days a week from open to close. Literally 7 days a week. Listen, if you catch me there, I am singing one of two songs: Mandy Moore's "Candy" or "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus. I don't sing anything else and please don't expect me to dance while I sing... just don't. Onward... Think grungy bar type establishment and just have some fun. Play some pool, cornhole or hang out on the patio. They have some amazing/impressive looking sand volleyball courts. I don't play, but they look pretty. People - Employees are great here. They did kick me out once for bringing in a big boy can of PBR, but can I blame of brother for following rules, laws and such? But, really, they are great. If you go enough, the bartenders look out for you in the best way and the locals are always a great time to hang around. Fri/Sat are busy nights. 11:30pm you are talking to your friends, singing as many songs as you like and then 11:45pm there are 200 people in there and it can be shoulder to shoulder. If you hate crowds, don't go during the typical "I am home from college holidays." Whatever reviews you read and decide to follow the guidance of, this place is definitely a bucket list item you have to check off. read more

Quite the interesting establishment. You pull into the gas station, thinking you're about to fill'er up. But then you walk around the back of the gas station into Saeed's, a not so divey bar? Not really sure how to classify it. But, they have Karaoke, 1 mic, 1 teleprompter, and a big projection screen. The locals really dig the karaoke. Lots of Gaga bellowing the night I was there. Overall, a fun little bar. In the main area, a pool table situated relatively close to the bathroom. Talk about easy access. Downstairs, there are more pool tables but most of the people stayed away from that area. And if Saeed was my man manning the bar, I'd slap him on his ass and tell him good game. He was quick, helpful and friendly. I was expecting some LOST type character with a shotgun in tow. At least they did a modern version of line dancing. The crowd is a mix of cougars, locals, tourists (us), and boatsmen. "Where 'yall from?" Oh, and be sure to keep an eye out for the sexually confused gentleman singing the hight pitched songs. This is one of those places that you love or you hate. I happen to love it. There's a decent selection of beer considering it's the local watering hole. They have a full bar, and Mr. Saeed never skimps when he makes drinks. There's karaoke 7 nights a week-you heard that right! Typically a nice DJ to get you through. Ample seating inside and out. There are a lot of options for entertainment including pool, corn hole, ping pong, and more (like beach volleyball! What?!) I love this place. Saeed's is basically everyone's last stop of the night after an evening out. It's a fantastic place to people watch.. especially the karaoke! They have 2 bars, one inside and one outside. Can't beat $2 jello shots, although I'm not sure they even have any alcohol in them sometimes! There's something for everyone here whether it's karaoke, pool tables, Cornhole or ping pong. Bathroom isn't the cleanest/best, but I guess it's what you'd expect. read more

This is a hole in the wall behind a gas station. Enough said. But believe it or not, they have the best karaoke system, hands down over any place in the Greater Charlotte area. And they offer karaoke 7 days a week. The place looks like a cross between an old school lounge (think a little seedy, with lounge chairs around and a few tables, a little dark) and grandma's living room. There is a small outdoor patio invaded by smokers as expected. The room in between inside and outside is like a bad case of 70s addition, where they set up the pool tables. While it's covered, I have been here before where people smoked while they played pool. Again, don't expect much from a borderline dive bar. Think twice before opening a tab, you may be better off paying cash as you go because I have heard Saeed's math can be a little... OFF. Now that I got all the questionable things out of the way. This is a great hang out, people in general are friendly, most of them are regulars. I only come here when it's a big group of us in the mood of singing our socks off. The sign up system is computerized on the wall (hi-tech stuff!). They have very new songs you can search by title or artist. And the audio system is great. Definitely a great dive. I've probably been here 50 times. I've always waved off people complaining about their tabs (most patrons here aren't exactly in a state to do math) and seeing mysterious charges after visiting Saeed's and using cards, but it finally happened to me. I used a card I rarely use at Saeeds and then next day someone had used my card at a local Walmart and charged a few hundred dollars to it. I find the timing and that I never use this card to be less than coincidental. Go to Saeeds, have a great time, sing your heart out and pay cash. read more

This is an interesting place to say the least. It is definately the biggest dive bar in the lake. It is set behind a gas station outside of your typical lake area but with a good group of friends it is a pretty good time. They do have karaoke every night and can be down right horrible sometimes. They have a good selection of beer and they pour stiff coctails at a reasonable price. It is a dive so I can not really say I recommend it but I would try it at least once if you have never been. I'm giving Saeed's two stars ONLY because it truly is somewhere that everyone should experience at least once. Positives: -It usually isn't too crowded which means fast service, a seat at the bar, and available pool tables for those that want to play. -Karaoke Negatives: -Saeed's method of keeping up with tabs is archaic. He literally lays everyone's credit cards around on a table behind the bar and manually tracks the drinks with a little sheet of paper that the card lays on. My tab is ALWAYS wrong and always higher than it should be. Saeed will not argue with you and will not change your tab- he is always right and that's that. If you go to this bar, make sure you take plenty of cash and pay for each drink as you get it. -No drink specials Overall, this is a typical dive bar... it's fun for a couple of drinks but in no way is how I would want to spend my Friday or Saturday night. read more

This place used to be awesome, the owner has gotten too big for his britches and has become an jerk. I was designated driver one night and asked for a nonalcoholic beer. He said we only serve alcohol here and walked away from me, never asking if I wanted anything else to drink. He completely ignored me and wouldn't even come back to ask if I wanted a Coke, water or anything else. Next time, I can take my limousine full of people somewhere else! read more

I highly recommend you pay CASH for your drinks or you'll end up paying for other people's drinks. Very unprofessional but what really kills me is the favoritism going on with the Karaoke DJ's. I signed up to sing and watched singer after singer get called up several times before I was called. In fact, I watched people come into the bar AFTER me who got to sing ahead of me. Bit of favoritism going on. Guess you have to be friends with the DJ to get a fair turn. Overall was a pretty ugly experience and the parking lot is just awful. There is absolutely no way to get into this place without going through at least a half dozen pot holes. Saeeds is a hole in the wall so if that's what you're looking for then I highly recommend. My friends and I stopped by on a Saturday night. Cheap drinks, nice crowd, and karaoke was definitely a nice touch. In the other room there were pool tables, a nice chimney, and I believe it was cool if you smoked. I did only see two bartenders working which kind of delayed the drink orders. We went there on a typical saturday night pretty late. We had a few drinks and I bought for the group. A few more rounds. There was only 3 of us in the group so it wasnt like we were spending millions! My freind ( a girl) got sick and we had to leave immediatley. I left my "business debit card" there and Mr. Saeed himself thought it was appropriate to add 20 dollars everyday till I got the card. He ended up charging me double my original bill. I explained to him the situation and he acted like he did nothing. Then I showed him the change in the bank statements day to day. He denied it like the little girl he is. I just paid it and I will never recommened or step foot in there again. Not good business..... its SAD! read more

I am only giving Saeed's "2 stars" because the dancing and pool can be fun at times. Karaoke on the weekend can be fun, yet frustrating, if you don't arrive by 10pm - you could be waiting for 2+ hours just to sing one song (while other people get to sing multiple songs before you can sing just one). The staff (including several bartenders, DJs, AND especially the Owner) has been rude and disrespectful on a number of occasions - not to mention the poor sanitation. The most recent experience I had at Saeed's was SO disgusting. I was served a glass of wine that had lipstick on it. (This also happened the previous time I was at Saeed's, by another bartender) When I requested a new glass, Saeed (the owner) acted like this was a completely unreasonable request. He acted very irritated, but he begrudgingly gave me a different glass...which ALSO had lipstick on it! I said something to him about the lipstick on THIS glass, and that is when completely he lost his temper. I was not rude - I simply told him I would like to drink out of a clean glass without lipstick - but he did not want to hear it. He got extremely upset with me, telling me that maybe I should just not order wine. Before I could say anything else, he refunded my money (except the tip). Then, he told me that the lipstick was not his fault because "women should not be wearing so much stuff on their lips!" (as if it was my fault, as a woman, that there was lipstick on these glasses) I was in shock. I don't know which was more repulsive - the dirty wine glasses, or the disrepectful way I was treated! (I have several other examples to share about Saeed's, such as getting flat-out ignored by bartenders when I am at the bar, waiting to order a drink. Or, another example was when someone spilled an entire drink near the microphone stand at karaoke - where there was a huge puddle. When I went to sing my song, not only was I concerned that someone might get shocked/electrocuted, but it was also really disgusting standing in a puddle of someone's drink. My shoes got completely wet and dirty. I mentioned it to a bartender who walked by, and he completely ignored me and kept walking. The puddle remained there for at least 30 minutes, until a staff member finally mopped it up.) read more

Truly dedicated karaoke bar! Karaoke bar every night. Open until 2am if your vocal chords can hack it. Not just once a night or 2 like other joints. Great system and bar is set up like floor stage with floor seating for audience style set up. Good hot food and fair priced drinks. Thousands of songs to choose from. Only gripe is that they should only let you sign up for 1 song at a time per 30 minutes. Some people are hogging the night signing up for lots of songs and not letting others have fair turn. This little bar scores extra points in my book for being behind a gas station----I dig dive bars, holes-in-the-wall, whatever you want to call them. I am from Los Angeles but have family locally and I visit this bar every time I am in town. Small bar, not pretentious, not crazy crowded (but still busy), really friendly people--easy to meet new people here, even when you aren't necessarily looking to--some barfly will inevitably talk to you:) The karaoke is the best here--some good singers and some hilarious entertainment, just perfect. They also have a big outdoor area if you want to escape the karaoke. I did have a problem once with some rich, over-the-hill, Lake Norman, cosmetically re-arranged, housewife of Orange County wannabe who was dry-humping her gross, even older sugar-daddy, but being from southern california, I am used to her type and was able to deal with her rude, slobbery ass. Taht being said--I'm going to head over to saeed's tonight since I am in town for the holidays and I expect I will have the same great time I always do:) P.S. Look out for that crazy lone tree smack dab in the middle of the parking lot--I hit it once, and they tell me I'm not the first out-of-towner who has. Some friends and I went to Saeed's to do karaoke the other night and I will never be going back. My friend had suggested that it was a great spot to sing karaoke so we decide to try it and it was a big mistake. For one don't expect to actually get to sing on karaoke night, We arrived around 11:30 or so and put in three songs and my friends song finally go played at around 2 am, and then they skip our other two. We left at 3am with me still not getting to sing, which was the main point of us going. I could get over this point because it was extremely crowded had it not been for the place its self. It took forever to get drink or get anywhere period and I have had outhouses in the woods at summer camp/porta-jon's at a race that were cleaner than the bathrooms. The mens and women's were both literally flooded from the toilets being so clogged and as a woman, it is pretty bad when the only safe place to pee is the men's urinal and you have to literally bleach you shoe before you enter your home. Also after reading comments and hearing people talking I am so glad we paid cash, since apparently math is a problem for them. The only plus side of the whole experience was that we managed to make the best of our time and you can smoke in the patio, which is nice even if you can't hear anything going on inside. read more
