Best kept secret at the Lake. Strong drinks, won't break your wallet, and great bartenders!! It's a true local spot but don't tell everyone.

This was our first time here, and it's a very nice venue. To start, their coffee is delicious and strong. I had the Double Up, with scrambled eggs (with added cheddar), bacon, sausage links, sourdough toast, and fruit. My husband had the Short Rib Hash with a side of potatoes. He forgot the hash also had potatoes, and should have gotten something else, because he had far too many potatoes! My scrambled eggs were a little over cooked and the cheese was only melted on top (rather than being mixed in), but they were still decent. The bacon was perfectly crispy--as requested, and the sausage links were fine. The sourdough toast was buttered and delicious. And the fruit had watermelon--a nice addition to the usual fruit cup. My husband's short rib hash was good. The eggs were perfectly medium, but the potatoes were a bit salty. Easy Like Sunday still makes our favorite version of this dish. Our server was very pleasant, and the wait wasn't too long for our food. I loved that we could pay with ApplePay via the Toast handheld. While everything wasn't perfect, we'll definitely return and try some different items. I want to try them for dinner, too!

The first time my friend and I ate here it was great, lovely hostess, great server and delicious…read morefood. Tonight the hostess looked like she hated her job. All of doors were open to outside and it was cold with a draft, I'm not sure why they left the doors open tonight but I had asked her to sit far away from the doors and then she ended opening up another one of the doors so they were all open. She didn't smile once and looked visibly annoyed from the moment I walked in. The food was also not great tonight. The restaurant was pretty dead and the tacos came out cold. The pork belly needed to be heated up more. The tuna taco was terrible tonight with a fishy taste (much different than my last experience) and had a shiny film on it. I took one bite and thought it tasted bad so didn't eat the rest, I'm surprised my server didn't ask me what was wrong with it.

We've been here before, and on this visit I noticed the rating has slipped from around four stars…read moreto about three and a half. After this meal, I suspect service may be part of the reason. The restaurant itself was very pleasant. It was warm enough that all the windows were open, giving the place a nice breezy, open feel. It's a comfortable environment to sit and enjoy a meal with family. For food, I ordered the chicken tinga, pork, and Baja fish tacos. They were good overall, but for me the flavor profiles were surprisingly similar. I expected a little more distinction between them. The chips and salsa with guacamole were very good, and I really like their idea of bringing out a whole crispy tortilla that you break apart yourself like chips. Service started off strong. Our server, Libby, was very friendly and did a great job breaking the ice when she first came to the table. Unfortunately, things slipped a little after that. We asked for more chips that never came, and I ordered a half-and-half tea (sweet and unsweet). The tea eventually arrived, but it tasted completely unsweetened. Other people at the table had better luck with their meals. The tuna tacos were a big hit, the pork tacos were well loved, and the Brussels sprouts taco was surprisingly good according to the family member who ordered it. Overall, the atmosphere and some of the menu items are strong, but the service gaps and the lack of distinct flavor between some tacos kept the experience from being better. Still a nice place to sit and eat, but there's room for improvement.
