This was my first time using a moving company, and I couldn't recommend Safe Responsible Movers enough! I moved on 9/1 between apartments in Brighton with an additional stop of a storage unit in Newton. Booking was incredibly easy. James promptly responded to all my questions via email and checked in with me a few days before the move to ensure I had gotten parking permits for the moving truck. I was given an arrival window of anywhere from 10 am to 1 pm, and was told ahead of time I'd receive a call at 9:15 with their ETA. On the day of the move, I received a call from the movers promptly at 9:15 telling me they were about 20 minutes away. They were at my original apartment by 9:30 and by 11:30, they had moved everything in my old apartment, packed up the storage unit, and unloaded everything at the new apartment. I could not believe their speed and efficiency, they were practically running between the truck and the apartment. Yet they handled everything with such care - nothing was broken or damaged. They also made sure we were happy with the location of all of the large furniture items before they left. There were NO hidden costs, simply the hourly rate plus the one hour of travel time. I ended up spending far less on the move than I thought I was going to because of how efficient they were. To top it all off, the team was very professional and courteous. Last week, we moved from South Boston to Chelmsford, MA. We stumbled across Safe Responsible Movers through Yelp, and they had nothing but solid reviews, so we opted to go for them. We had initially inquired about moving on Friday, but they were booked that day and had availability on Thursday instead. I had received quotes from a few other places, and the hourly rate that Safe Responsible Movers charged was one of the better ones that we saw. Given the information that we provided them, they quoted us that we'd need around 6-7 hours for our move. Our move size was a living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, some outdoor items (grill, etc), and some basement items. The crew (Chris, Aaron, and Cody) arrived on time with a truck plenty large enough to handle our move. My wife and I helped our own cause by disassembling some furniture (like the crib), and we made sure that all of our items were boxed up and ready to go when the movers showed up. With that said, they were able to get the job done in just over 5 hours (including the time it takes to drive from Southie to Chelmsford)...we were absolutely amazed. These guys were efficient with their time, cooperated well, and took great care of our items during the move. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Boston area who is going to be moving in the near future. These guys deserve your business. read more

I just completed a move from Boston to Chicago, moving a 1 bedroom apartment. Interstate movers are notoriously shady, so I decided to go with a container service to ship my stuff to Chicago. I had some large furniture pieces to go down tight stairs and load into the container, so I decided to hire some help. Reserving with Chris and his crew was easy and straightforward, and the rates were very reasonable. On the day of the move, I was actually ready a couple hours before my reserved time, so I called them to tell them they could come early if they wanted. They then arrived 1.5 hours early, which was great as there were terrible thunderstorms later in the afternoon. I had 2 cubes which I could fill stuff with, but I would save several hundred dollars if everything fit into just one. I let the movers know this, and we packed one cube totally full, but the packing was very secure and there was no damage to anything. Without pros, I don't think I would have been able to use just one cube. The two guys worked like crazy, finishing the job in an amazing 80 minutes, even with taking extra time to rearrange things to make it all fit in one cube. I had to pay for the two hour minimum, but it was still totally worth it. These guys are great, and should be your go-to for local moves or general moving labor needs. read more

I just moved from Framingham to Norwood, and this was my first time hiring professional movers. I gotta say, these guys totally blew me away. Nicky+2 got hung up on the job before me, but James kept me updated over the phone to let me know their progress. I was never left wondering where they were or what was going on. When they at last arrived, they were very apologetic and understanding. They went right to work and were done loading up my stuff in just over an hour. They wrapped all the breakable stuff really well and had no trouble getting two large sofas down three flights of stairs. We headed down to Norwood, but not before they informed me that a fourth mover would be joining them at our destination (for free) to make up for them being so late. However, as it turned out, they unloaded so quickly that the fourth person wasn't even needed. In total, the entire move took 2 hours and 15 minutes, and I could not be happier. They even gave me a discount and didn't count the last 15 minutes (again, apologizing for being late). I basically paid their two hour minimum charge and that's it. These guys were all awesome and super professional. I sincerely hope I don't have to move again any time soon, but if I do I'm absolutely calling Safe Responsible. Thanks guys! read more

I'm writing this review 2+ years after I used these guys (twice: 7/09 and 4/10), and now I'm (finally!) composing this from a different state. THAT is how much I love them. In a bunch of horrible towns to navigate, through epic traffic and in and out of (generally) horribly old buildings, Chris and crew are generally running *early*, will be sure to keep you posted either way, intimidatingly strong and agile, and so quick that they even may help you set up some of your shit upon arrival. So awesome. I'm not sure if they still do this, or if depends on general busy-ness, but don't hesitate to contact them for moves in Cambridge and Somerville (where I was both times). Generally, I found Metro Boston to be full of so many sketchball landlords/real estate agents/handypeople that I was expecting movers to be an UTTER NIGHTMARE, but both of my experiences were the absolute diametric opposite (thanks, Yelpers!). Seriously, get in touch with them today. They book up fast for a really effing good reason!! This is my second time using Safe Responsible Movers. They moved us into our last apartment in Medford a few years ago. They just moved us into storage last weekend. We will be hiring them again in a few weeks to move from storage and into our new home. 1. They show up on-time. 2. They show up with 3 guys and a truck. You pay them by the hour and they have an amazing work ethic. They work very hard for every min they bill you. I thought their hourly rate was very reasonable so they represent fantastic value. 3. They are clearly guys who spend the time to move your stuff with care. All furniture, paintings, and delicate stuff was extremely well padded and packed. These guys are not of the "just throw it in the truck" types. They are really professionals at this. 4. They packed our stuff into the the storage shed in a very efficient manner. I would have needed a much larger storage unit had I done it myself. 5. They are friendly positive guys. You get the feeling you can trust them with your stuff. Having moved three times in the last few years, I've had a few experiences with moving company's - all good. But this time around, I hired Safe and Responsible Movers because they had a better hourly rate than others were quoting me. Two weeks prior to my move date, I spoke to Chris over email. He answered all my questions very promptly and assured me that they could handle anything on the job. The day of the move, James and Aaron, my movers came right on time. They carefully padded my big pieces like my armoir and flat screen tv and did an awesome job disassembling and later reassembling my bed and chunky wood dining table. I had plenty of totes to boot and they took care of that too. What impressed me even more was that, James gave me a call back hours after the move to let me know that I had overpaid by $60. I must have counted incorrectly while thanking them profusely for a job well done. James came back the next day and returned the money. Nice! How cool is that? Hire this company for your next move. Highly recommended! We had a really positive experience all around and would definitely use them again for any future moves. The crew (Chris, Adam, and Daniel) was wonderful - very friendly, flexible, efficient, and careful. There were a few changes we made to furniture location etc. and they were extremely willing to help and make sure that everything was how we wanted it. They also wore their masks the whole time, which I don't know how that is even possible given how hard they were working carrying things. There was one antique piece of furniture that is my husband's favorite and that is extremely difficult to move, but they handled it (along with everything else) flawlessly. Also, the flat travel fee worked out well... in the past the movers that I have used charged based on time but always took way longer to arrive at the second destination than it would have reasonably taken. I used Safe Responsible Movers to move me on September 4, 2015. I live in Charlestown and I was moving to another unit in the same area. Both units were on the 3rd Floor. They arrived on time with a crew of 3 guys. They were professional, conscientious, upbeat and took pride in their job. You felt as if they were moving their own furniture in the way they were so meticulous and careful. I can't rate them high enough! They were superb. I had a friend with me during the move and she said she would recommend this moving company and would use them herself. They were fast, careful and positive in every way. Safe Responsible Movers were top-notch every step of the way - from the prompt and clear communication by email to get quotes and confirm the booking/timing and then to provide relevant details and instructions as the move date approached. On the day of the move, they were on time and called in advance to confirm arrival. The 3 movers on my job were extremely polite, very efficient, and were very careful with my belongings and both properties (move-out and move-in). All wore masks and followed reasonable protocols for COVID prevention. Moving is always a challenge - moving during a pandemic while on crutches is a new level of hell, but my experience with Safe Responsible Movers was worth every penny. I hired these guys for a move out of our 3rd floor walk up apartment in Southie to our new house in Weymouth. They arrived exactly on time and got right to work. They got everything down three flights of stairs and into the truck in just over an hour including washer, dryer, and some heavy furniture. They even took down our moving signs once they were done. They were so quick they almost beat us to the new house. Once they got to the house it was an hour and the whole truck was unpacked and everything was in the house in the right place. They were polite, courteous, good natured, fast, and cheap! The cost ended up being less than we were expecting. They even went the extra mile and came back the next day to drop off something at our house that was accidentally left in the truck. Great guys. read more

Folks, these guys are awesome. Respectful, responsible, responsive and very professional. From the flat fee for travel to the efficiency in which everything went into the truck and out to the new place, these guys were spot on. Both of our movers showed up in masks with the proper tools and ready to go. We did do some prep work and had all the furniture wrapped but these guys were good. Under two hours to load, travel 45 min and unload my entire 1 BR. Very careful with all the furniture, respectful of the space they were in and super professional. I could not recommend them enough, and cheap! I've moved at least seven times and these guys were the best thus far. These guys were awesome. They were on time, fast, friendly, super careful and well priced. We moved from Wellesley to Roslindale and, when I ordered a truck that was much too small, they came back the next day and finished the move (avoiding my panic attack) for almost no extra money. A 2-day move with several workers was just over $400. Plus, when they could see that the truck was too small, they worked as hard as possible to pack that thing full. There wasn't an inch of space left in it. I have recommended these guys to everyone I've heard talk about moving ever since. I arrived late to my apartment but my ex was able to direct them on what to pack up so when I showed up my dresser was safely wrapped in plastic and they had everything organized in the truck. The were so kind and considerate to wait and let me walk around to make sure I had everything I needed and take one more box of kitchen supplies I boxed up on sie. Then they beat me to my new apartment and my sister called to say how fast and efficient and cute the guys were! I needed assistance with finding low cost, safe moving company for my client and Safe Responsible Movers were the most responsive, understanding, caring people I found out there. They were efficient and flexible about how we got them the payment. We even had to change the date of the move due to a snow storm and they were able to deal with us calling them at odd hours (not to be expected probably) and talking with multiple parties to coordinate. When it came down to it, the move was quick and easy. We could not have done it with anyone else and I can not more highly recommend them. They made the entire process super easy and efficient and were helpful throughout the planning process, providing a quote and answering questions promptly. I can't say enough good things about Chris and his company. My move was complicated; the building was both residential and commercial so I entered what I could into the website to try to get an estimate. Additionally, the stuff was going into storage on the cape! Within hours, Chris emailed me to set up an appointment to look at the job and give me an accurate price. On move day, Chris and his crew arrived on time and ready to work. They were awesome. The building has narrow twisting stairs but that didn't stop them. Everything was safely wrapped and moved without incident. I would highly recommend this company. read more
