*** Review for 3-day beginner motorcycle permit course ***…read more Let me begin by saying that Sherry Jennings and Sean Grimm are absolutely excellent instructors; you can really tell they care about keeping you safe. Sherry's enthusiasm and passion for motorcycling and teaching were amazing. She has a very vibrant way of teaching that easily holds your attention. Both Sherry and Sean were super helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. They WANT you to succeed and they're beyond great at what they do. That being said, it would be nice if the class sizes could be smaller. Our class was 16 riders. On the range, we had both instructors present, but I felt like if there had been fewer riders, there would have been more room for individualized help and feedback. I want to be very clear that this is a critique of the WMST class itself and NOT a fault of the instructors in any way--the instructors truly did their absolute best to help everyone and spent extra time with the people who needed it most while still being attentive to everyone. Having more time on the range would also be helpful for nailing skills down. The bikes seemed to be well-maintained (take with a grain of salt since I only rode two). I liked that we got to pick what style of bike we wanted to ride. I felt extremely lucky with my classmates; everyone was super kind and supportive of each other, which was awesome! Honestly, a big highlight of this experience for me was the other wonderful people taking the course alongside me--to say they were great would be an understatement. *** End of review, advice below *** I have literally zero experience with motorcycles and was lucky enough to pass my permit exams first try. FOR ALL MY FELLOW COMPLETE BEGINNERS, PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE!! This is a whole new skill you're learning and you absolutely need to set yourself up for success! *Your course includes the Champ U NEW RIDER online course, at the BARE MINIMUM you need to complete the portions outlined in the email. But don't stop there. COMPLETE THE WHOLE ENTIRE ONLINE COURSE **BEFORE** YOUR IN-PERSON COURSE! You really need to set yourself up for success with the book learning, especially if you don't have access to practice with a motorcycle. Even if you have previous experience, I would still recommend completing the entire online course because you want any misconceptions corrected before they possibly hurt you. The online course covers a lot of great stuff, there's really no reason not to do it (it's free!). Plan ahead and start it early because it takes a while to get through everything, but this is a lifelong skill and I promise you it's totally worth it! *ENGAGE IN CLASSROOM DISCUSSIONS!!! PAY ATTENTION DURING CLASSROOM PORTIONS! Show the instructors that you are listening by engaging with the discussions! IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, ASK! The instructors are super friendly and are more than happy to explain anything you're wondering about. *Watch videos of the permit test on YouTube so you know what to expect *Take deep breaths and try to relax! Watch what everyone else is doing and see how everybody is making mistakes. IT'S OK! That's part of learning! It helps your confidence when you realize that pretty much everyone else is struggling and learning too! If you don't pass the first time, don't beat yourself up. This is difficult and there's a LOT to process. You can know what you need to do and still panic under the pressure of a test. Just do your best and don't give up. Stay safe!

Had she said no, we're super loose about it, then cool, I would've appreciated the honesty and moved on. But instead, she spun a story about vaxxing, getting boosters, being so thorough about masking. I walk in with my kid and she's meeting with a family and nobody has on masks, including her. The family leaves and I ask what about masks?! She says oh they are all fully vaxxed. Uhh I saw the kid, he's not even close to 12. Then she throw that family under the bus and says she's been really working on them to wear masks. I laugh and say but you're not wearing a mask. She claims she forgot. Ok. So no matter what side of the masking drana you're on... I have no respect for a liar. Especially one about to work with my kid. Drive a few miles up the road to Snohomish. Sylvan test scores mean nothing in mainstream academics, it was created to reflect that schools have poor testing outcomes and "SURPRISE" Sylvan's test scores are significantly higher so they can boast "wow, look how great your kiddo does when they come to Sylvan". I had a meeting prior to enrolling and made it crystal clear that the issue I was having was getting class work-that turns into-homework completed and that my kiddo often "miscommunicates" his missing assignments to me. I also told Sylvan my kiddo has some mental delays and the pressure of helping at home was causing a bit too much stress. Sylvan told me not to worry, that they'd check for missing assignments on-line and they ensured me that this was something they run across all the time and achieve great success. However, a little over 2 months in and I've had to talk to Sylvan twice about my kiddo not completing missing assignments (now 2-3 weeks behind on assignments that were accessible on-line at Sylvan). I found out that just before I had my last sit down meeting with Sylvan that 2 of their staff used my kiddos time to probe with questions before I arrived, I was not aware during my meeting that their staff had been questioning my kiddo. My kiddo later told me that the questioning cause anxiety that the question were so specific that they like they were in trouble and they were scared. During this meeting that I had scheduled with one staff person a second person entered the meeting unannounced and then turned everything back on my kiddo and they even lied about their statements they had made directly to me, it felt like an ambush. One of the staff people was someone who I had never met and who didn't even introduce herself before taking a tone about my kiddo. It was obvious that Sylvan had failed to meet basic standards so they prepared themselves for our last meeting by targeting the kiddo with the mental delays without the parent present in order to blame the child for his homework time at Sylvan not being utilized. My kiddo also said that those two Sylvan employees hangout and visit with each other for about the first hour and say "just ask us if you need any help" because there are no other student besides themselves during that time, my kiddo said they don't want to go and interrupt the two staff visiting so they don't really feel helped at all. I came to Sylvan for a reason and I specifically called out my areas of concern, they told me everything I wanted to hear in-order to get me to sign-up and yet they blame the child when they fail to follow through. I am applauded on several levels, Sylvan not being accountable for their lack of consistency, Sylvan questioning my kiddo and causing them to feel unsafe, Sylvan's unprofessional conduct and their self serving testing/curriculum.

That is not an exaggeration. Every single team gymnast who has been on teams for more than the past season has left. Most have either quit gymnastics entirely or are driving to other gyms 20 or more miles farther away to get better coaching and a better system for team gymnastics. This gym was previously acceptable for a local gym for recreational classes, but even those now are subpar. After staying at Sky Valley far longer than we should have, we have recently moved our daughter to another gym at the recommendation of many other ex-Sky Valley parents. The difference was somewhat shocking, with so much more positivity and progress for the gymnasts involved. The coaches at the new gym seem to genuinely care about the gymnasts and their success, unlike the last year or two at Sky Valley. We definitely should have changed gyms much sooner. I cannot speak to the quality of the ninja warrior classes at Sky Valley, as they seem fine but I have not had a child in those. We have had our daughter in gymnastics there for multiple years and can confidently say that any previous quality in the coaching and team competition that existed in the past is now gone.

It is evident that they have been able to maintain the quality and caliber of education to the founder's high standards. Truck driving school is quite an investment of time and money and you have to make sure that its for you. You also want to do it right - it's a hell of a lot of responsibility and it is not easy. Driving a truck is a calling and a profession. I took time to research the trucking schools between the Canadian border and south to Everett. I checked out the reviews, the websites and I took the time to drive around Skagit, Whatcom and Snohomish counties looking for a great truck driving school - driving around their yards and snooping around. I chose TaylorMade Truck Driving School in Burlington and I have no regrets. They are not the least costly school, but the program is very thorough and anticipates all of the costs extra. They will work with you, and they won't give up on you. This made all of the difference for me. The instruction was top notch. The instructors are all very different, but they meet and talk in the mornings and at the end of each day. Each student's learning day is graded; the score cards are used as talking points between the instructors. This communication of student progress really allows for a high level of individually tailored instruction. The best part is that the lead instructor is a natural at teaching. He really gets it and truly understands that every person learns differently; the key to success in teaching is finding out how each student learns. It certainly worked for me, an old guy who needed a late life career change. This old dog learned some new tricks and I have the folks at Taylor Made TDS to thank. They rock!

He asked me a few general questions to gage what type of classes would be suitable for me. He gave me a couple different options but stated that purchasing a package would be a better option and it would save me money.  I was a bit apprehensive on my first day of class because you never know how the instructor will be if you make a mistake; however, right from our first meeting Mr. Suleman was so kind and soft spoken that I immediately felt at ease. He advised me not to be nervous and when we sat in the car he explained all the car features, functions, and driving rules.  I specifically appreciated how Mr. Suleman remains calm, and speaks so respectfully. Mr. Suleman is very professional and knowledgeable and he shares his experiences with you and provides insight on how to be an excellent driver. It was refreshing to see an instructor who truly cares about the success of their students. His aim was not just to teach but to ensure I understand and feel confident about the road, my driving, and stated that if I focused on that then I would attain my goal of getting my license and being a safe and confident driver.  I would without a doubt recommend Drive Right Driving School to everyone who needs to learn to drive or anything driving related.
