I've used them for about 3 years now, we live in Ione which is essentially built on top the works largest ant hill. we invariably get invaded by ants if we don't keep on top of it. We have had Safeguard Pest Control for 3 years. We always presumed they were treating our home for pests. We were concerned that they never gave us notice of the time or day when the pest control person was coming and wondered why they only came when we were away. For the last two of their service days our door video shows the guy coming to the door but doing very little. He then leaves a bill and departs. Meanwhile we're covered in spider webs and insects. When we complained the guy comes to our home confrontational and defensive. He admitted doing a poor job but became so confrontational we finally had to close the door on him. The next day the owner calls with the same defensive attitude, dismissing our concern, and never once offered to make it right. read more

We really tried with this company. It's hard to tell if we got a bad technician or if the company is the problem. Very minimal application.....had to call them out for repeat treatments. We learned they don't use some effective chemicals other services use (I.e ant granules/crystals) and our grumpy technician did not seem to like to climb hills or otherwise work too hard. We were made to feel that WE were the problem. Too bad, we really wanted to support a local company but are now much happier with a national chain out of Stockton. read more

They were good. But they came out and do not spay due to the deck needed fixing which is fair and said they would come out and spray at a later date. We had decided to cancel their service and on the next trip out told the person coming out to spray. (This was not the problem. They are trying to bill us for service that was not provided as the person who was supposed to respect never came back. And they are trying to charge us for service that was not provided even after talking to them on the phone regarding this. If I could give less than a star I would. I have had them out twice now. JUST signed up for service and they have been absolutely TERRIBLE. Girl in the office is rude and has absolutely no respect for the people trying to receive service. I called to complain about how the ant issue was still an issue even 10 days afterwards and the girl in the office said ok well someone on the way to your house right now. But ummm..... you never asked before sending and I'm not even home. "Well you called about it so." This has happened TWICE. Mind you I've been in contract with them for less than 30 days. Absolutely the worst company for pest control. They spend less that 10 min at our home. We have been in contract with them for over a year (waste of money!!). We call for an APPOINTMENT so they can spray the interior of our home and then tell us "oh tomorrow afternoon sometime" they call at 12:10 and say the tech will be there in 10 min. We tell them that doesn't work they say oh well.... We have multiple spiders and bugs in our house everyday!!! After a year of "SERVICE"... would never refer this company to anyone. read more

I had the pleasure of doing business with this company. I had to have my house inspected in order to sell it. Safeguard was able to work with my busy schedule, come out and assess the house. It was discovered that there were subterranean termites, and they were able to provide pictures with evidence. So, we had to schedule another appointment to take care of the treatment before selling the house. Keith, scheduled us in and made it work. Once he was able to take care of the treatment, he discovered that it was not as eroded as he thought and was able to refund us part of our money. I was not even sure if this type of honesty was even around anymore. So simple of a gesture can renew a persons faith in humanity and in company's like this. Thank you for all your help. I'm in the process of refinancing my home. I called Safeguard to perform a termite inspection because it's a requirement to get the new loan. I paid 190 dollars, and was told I'd have the completed inspection in 3 days. I called on the 3rd day. They said it wasn't ready yet. Long story short. It was a full week after they said it would be ready when I actually received it. That's strike one. Strike two; Upon reviewing the termite inspection, the inspector decided it would be a good idea to mark a "other concerns" box, and he said there was "water damage" and a possible roof leak. They included a work order to have someone from their company come out and do a roof inspection. Now get this straight. This is a tiny area of an overhang covering my front porch. It's about 12 to 15 feet above the porch. There is no "damage", it's a tiny water stain, most likely caused from my wife spraying the cobwebs with the hose. No dry rot, no leak and no damage. However, due to this inspectors over reach, I now have to pay for a roof inspection which is not needed. Here's strike 3; I called them and told them that the mortgage company is only asking for a termite inspection. There were no termites. I asked them to remove that stupid other concerns box. They said they couldn't because it might lead to termites getting into the wood. You know what? A queen termite landing on my roof or the side, or under my house would far more likely lead to a freaking termite infestation. It's not your place to see a tiny water stain and say "Sorry mister, but we need to screw you out of a bit more money before you can go ahead with life." If I have a leak, I'll fix the leak. Stay in the area of responsibility I paid you to perform. Don't speculate and say well something might happen because you have that water mark up there. Absolute B.S.! I truly believe this company is just trying to squeeze extra money out of me. I believe this to be a dishonest, and dishonorable business. I suggest you take your business somewhere other than here. read more

I wish I would've never signed up for Safeguard Pest Control. There is absolutely no difference in the amount of bugs, spiders, etc in and outside the home. They are also supposed to take care of webs on the house and they do a TERRIBLE job at that too. After they leave, I'll go out and check and there will be a bunch of missed webs. I recently, had an issue with Safeguard Pest I wanted to address. I had called for a re-spray and was told I was scheduled to have a regular pest spray done .My last monthly spray was done the 24th of July. They do the regular sprays every other month, so my next regular spray should be around the 24th of September. I had called for the re-spray on the 3rd of September. This I believe should have been considered a re-spray. The office gal, Mellissa said it was going to be a regular spray so I said I have spiders so you need to come spray. I called back a couple days later after thinking about this , trying to explain the timing issue with Mellissa ;she said she would get someone else to help me . A woman came on the phone , She said " HELLO"......I asked if this was Mellissa? she said "NO, This Is Christine ' THE BOSS" She didn't want to hear or understand anything I was saying .I finally Just said "Thanks a lot. She replied...OK-BYE! She was a terrible customer service representative-- She would probably benefit from some customer service classes.. Also, the man who sprayed wrote that he sprayed inside and out --- but, he only sprayed outside.. I have also been in the house when another man came to spray though he was unaware that I was inside. As watched him , he only sprayed one side of the house and started to roll up his hose. I went out and asked if he was going to spray the back side of the house. His response was that the hose had been cut and it was to short to spray in back. Though I still got the same bill. read more
